I can only assume from the other reviews that this bar serves some great beers. Sadly despite being totally empty on a Thursday early afternoon, they would not allow two well behaved Children in - not even in the outdoor area at the back. I would have thought they would have appreciated the trade being empty. They were quite cold faced about it, but I can only assume they have plenty of money to turn down trade when quiet.

24/10/22: back again, ahead of our Jersey Boys show at Manchester Opera House. That same old familiar incense filled establishment, making you feel at home and relaxed as soon as you step foot over the threshold of the corner doors. Photo update of the ale list. 28/09/22: Cask is amazing and as soon as you walk in, you feel at home. Presented with a large number of pumps featuring from all over the world. Located in the heart of Castlefield, opposite the Science & Industry Museum on Liverpool Road, just off Deansgate. Often overlooked and quite understated. Tiny double opening corner doors leads you to a Continental type establishment. Opened in 2003, the beer list has remained, without doubt, one of the most comprehensive in town. Many local brews, German wheat beers, strong Belgian imports, special American imports and bottles from around the globe, the choice is incredible, plus there's a good range of spirits ensuring there is sure to be something that takes your fancy. An outdoor patio garden features at the back, comfy seating inside, with the option of bringing in your own food. The local chippy next door does a roaring trade because of it! Don't miss out!

Great pub Loos small from the outside but spacious at the back. Good beers selection. Boards games available. Relaxed atmosphere. Wheelchair accessible.

Quaint bar near work, not massive although definitely cosy, usually has a few good craft beers on like DEYA, bar fridge with a few ciders in as well.

Dropped by for a quick pint. Interesting ale choice and well kept. Wasn't there long, but it was a good one. 👍

We came for a drink or 2, so we didn't order any food. It's a Hipster type of pub. Good choice of ales 🍺 Reasonably prices. Would try the pub again, if in the area.

A Manchester institution. Great vibes, great jukebox, great selection of continental independent beers. Hasn’t changed for years, and that’s a very good thing.

Cask is always a treat, amazing selection of ales that change on a regular basis, with a great choice of permanent beers on tap. Prices like everywhere, have gone up considerably, so I have 1 less beer than I normally would each time!

Great little place. Very friendly staff with a nice selection of beverages to choose from! Highly recommend if you're in the area.

Only spent a short amount of time here but the atmosphere and staff were welcoming. Despite my fleeting visit the place and the fine Salt IPA made me feel right at home, a most pleasurable experience!

Love Cask. Selection of drinks is constantly surprising. Prices are decent. And it's a semi-regular event having a Chippy & Cask. Or even Meal Deal & Cask. Friendly staff and the outsidey bit is great when you don't want to sit in the darkness of a rare summer's day.

Quiet when we arrived on a Saturday at 12:30. I chose a good pint from four pumps on the bar. There is also a huge craft keg choice. German and Belgian bottles. Nice barman. Looked like it could be interesting with a few in. Music I believe. Well worth a little detour off Deansgate.

Get a chippy from next door and have yourself some actually good drinks with it. Nice aircon inside and a small garden outside. Toilets are clean. Thoroughly recommended.

It's a fab bar. There is an excellent selection of beers and lagers. A great jukebox. Good service. No food, but you can pop next door to the chippy and bring your food in the bar. Just remember to take out your own rubbish.

Great place to have a chat and listen to some good tunes from the jukebox . My husband and I bought food from the chip shop next door. As long as you take the rubbish out with you when leaving, put it in the bin just outside. Thanks CASK 😊

Great distillery to visit while in Manchester. They make vodka, gin, rum and absinthe. Our server, Anthony, was great! Found out we were from the states and hooked us up with a list of places to visit while in Manchester. Looking forward to drinking their black cherry vodka we picked up and working through the list of places to try while here.

Good cask selection (unsurprisingly), not ridiculously priced (relative to area) and had a nice atmosphere for late afternoon/early evening on a weeknight. Seemed popular for a post work 'meeting'. Lighting could be improved a bit in the back room. A bit 'stark' for my taste. Didn't eat (not sure they serve food?). You could bring in fish and chips from next door which is a nice touch.

Great place for a craft beer. Nice atmosphere and a good selection of cask and keg ales. Bonus: although they don't serve food they're happy for you to bring food as long as you clean up after yourself. Great chippy next door!

If you're in Manchester City centre and you like beer Cask is a must! It's a brilliant pub. They typically have 4 cask ales, all superb quality. They have a great range of craft and international beers, I highly recommend the Augustina Helles! You can also buy fish and chips from the place next door and eat in the pub, although Cask doesn't serve food, this is a great little feature. To top it off the atmosphere is really friendly and chilled and the staff are great. This pub is ace

Just happened to stumble upon this bar. Loved it. We were intending on finding a few places but decided to stay. Had a good natter with the staff. It reminded me of a continental bar. Will definitely make the effort to visit next time I’m in Manchester.

Been here a few times over the years since it opened in what used to be a very dilapidated block. Great for Real ale drinkers. I had an excellent pint of Pictish El Diablo. Very friendly. Well worth visiting. Good selection of drinks to suit everyone

Very nice little craft beer bar, with some great choices on tap or bottles & cans. La Chouffe on draft was superb.

A well established bar on Liverpool Road, it's warm, it's friendly & on this return visit had three cask ales, and many craft& keg options on the well stocked bar. Cask beer chosen & was on excellent form. Highly recommended bar

Nice real beer pub with a great selection and good prices. It can get a little crowded as it's not the biggest venue, but definitely worth going for a couple in here

Friendly bar staff and good selection of real ales.Bit out of the way but worth making the effort to visit

Great selection of beers (always updated). Amazing knowledgeable and friendly staff peeps. The atmosphere is fantastic and relaxed. You simply can't beat that :)

Not the biggest selection of ales but what they had were wonderful. My favourite was the triple chocolate. Full of flavour. After an insipid lager in a Holt's pub it was truly amazing. Four of us on a night out had a great time. My partner enjoyed a Cherry Beer.

Returned to this cracking bar recently, probably about 17 years since I first visited when I lived in Manchester. It still has the essentials nailed on as it did all those years back; great beer, friendly staff and a nice laid back atmosphere. Plus you can go next door for take away fish and chips and bring them in to eat. Lovely place for a relaxed few pints.

👍👍 I was craving curry during my stay in Manchester. And Google suggested this place to me. It's in the centre, almost 6 minutes away from my hotel. The interior design is very hip and it has a great vibe. The music that is being played is modern. The curry was amazing. And the prices were perfect for...
