During my trip to Homebase Bredbury today to purchase decorating supplies I was publicly humiliated by the shop assistant Mal who incorrectly and un-professionally accused me of being a drug addict who was "going home to have a good sniff" of some white spirit "as that is what people like you come in here to do". I was purchasing the spirit to clean paint brushes. Very un-professional, rude and improper. Shame on you. Maybe some more training on professionalism is needed, I was offered compensation coupons to spend in store and a heavy apology by the Store Manager Richard, who obviously can see the potential detrimental affect this may have If I wash to pursue this with corporate head office, to which I refused as I was not complaining to seek financial gain.

Appalling service. Visited the Bredbury store to buy a picture frame which was showing 8 in stock. After waiting half an hour told there were none in stock. Instructed to order online and one would be delivered to store . Ordered on the Sunday and was told it would be in store on Monday. Phoned customer service on Friday having heard nothing to be told I had collected it on Tuesday!! Tried to call the store directly for half an hour with no reply or any option to leave a message. In this currently environment, with this service they will not survive. Cheap for a reason.

Looks like the manager wanted to get off as soon as they closed so locked doors to access to the outside garden area 20 mins before the store closed. Not ideal when I needed a product from out there. Also they wouldn't open it on request.

Trusted place not too expensive, staff are friendly wasn't very busy too which was a bonus. Clearly labelled where everything is plus staff will check if a certain item isn't on the shelf if there's anymore. Good place all round.

Visited store today. I required some pipe lagging material. I asked for the assistance of a guy named Nigel and he was brilliant and gave me some very really helpful advice. Please thank him for me Regards Brian

CLS timber 38x64x2400 cost £6 here so for ten lengths it’s £60. Wickes sell the exact same for £4.25, so £42.50 for 10 lengths plus a further 10% discount for trade so £38.25. That’s a massive saving of £21.75 at wickes.

Friendly staff enjoyed going in. Got some Rasps, which I wanted the moment I saw them. Did not seem as fully stocked as I remember, but all shops are like this lately, but still deserves 5 stars just because the staff are so pleasant.

Not much of a selection in the dulux paints, had to choose another colour. Although, the half price on the second tin made it worthwhile.

Good variety of products, but found everything to be very expensive compared to other DIY stores.

Great choice of paints, tiles, kitchen, and bathroom appliances. There are plenty of different garden items to pick from ranging from BBQs to plants and even garden furniture. Certainly worth a visit if you are looking for updating the house or garden.

A smaller, less stocked version of B&Q but much more convenient to get to and they let dogs in! Staff always great and fair pricing

The store is always so lovely, friendly and welcoming. Today I went in for a Christmas tree and Andy and his manager where absolutely more than helpful! Absolutely touched my heart and regained my faith In humanity. Andy really connected with me on a personal level and I couldn't be more thankful for the team that helped me this morning! So kind! I'll be forever greatful! X

I have recently bought a new kitchen from here, and again the service has been exceptional. This is the fourth kitchen I've purchased over the last ten years for different houses. The shaker style flat pack is really good quality and very reasonably priced. Gary who helped me with the latest purchase was very helpful and knowledgeable, going out of his way helping afterwards too. Delivery was quick and every item was undamaged. Would definitely recommend.

Visited Homebase Bredbury on Sunday 8th October. A well presented store carrying a wide range of home, garden and seasonal products. Friendly, helpful and professional staff. Well done !

Problems ordering online, no delivery, no collection at nearest store, goods supposed to be held three days only held for two, so then I had to reorder, but the price up 50%. Eventually sorted by customer services after a long slog online and phone and over payments refunded. By contrast staff at the store could not have been more helpful, bringing the goods out and assisting loading.

Brilliant , reminds me of the old Woolworths stores but on. Big scam, as good as a traditional hardware shop. If you cannot find at B+Q you will find here.

I went to look at bathrooms, I saw 2! It really wasn't worth the trip. I'm sure the rest of the shop had more choice and better prices.

Bought some wallpapers and were at reasonable prices compared other well known stores. Ample parking spaces and not too crowded inside Homebase. Worth a visit.

Store has no atmosphere and staff seem miserable. Overall prices seem to be higher than B & Q for everday items, paint, brushes, etc Never seems to be many people in store shopping no matter what day or time you visit.

The staff here are the greatest bunch of folk I've ever had the pleasure of being served by in a Homebase. Stock levels are always well managed and shelves are tidy and well stacked. Staff are friendly, attentive and go beyond to make sure you gave everything you need to get the project done, or simply help you to the car with heavy tiles! The manager or supervisor I'm not sure, lovely chap, charming and witty and it seems his staff really appreciate him. Will always come here now.

Polite helpful staff, good communication, I just wish they would put prices on the furniture showcased in the middle bit on the ground floor.

We’ve been here a few times, we collected floor polish for my Mum and Dad’s house. Staff seem really friendly and helpful. It’s actually quite far away from where we live but it’s worth travelling because we’ve always had a good experience when we’ve been. I’d recommend it to DIY’ers and tradesmen. There’s a bit at the back of the store where they are able to cut materials to size as well which is quite handy if you need to fit it all in the car.

According to the Webb site they had the item I wanted but in the store they couldn't find them. I was advised to call back in a week. I went somewhere else.

Absolutely Amazing Service today at Bredbury Homebase. I needed assistance to help carry a very large item to the car, the guy that helped me was so helpful, was concerned about scratching my car, whereas Normally this isn't even a consideration. 5* Service

Really helpful staff. Excellent service. They even went in the warehouse and came out with my item even though it wasn't shown on the displays. Brilliant. Thanks.

signage. I've a limited amount of steps i can do round a store as I tire easily so doing up and down rows and rows of paint with no guidance as to which aisle to look down is really stressful and tiring. I'll not be visiting again. all paint is not the same. I was looking for tile paint. it shouldn't be so hard you have to ask.

Gary is an asset to Homebase! When enquiring about my kitchen he was friendly, honest and very knowledgeable. He spent a lot of time with me talking through different options and things to consider and gave me a lot of his time and advice. If you’re looking for a new kitchen and don’t want a pushy, three headed salesman then talk to Gary! I guarantee you will feel comfortable and at ease knowing he is looking after you

It's homebase. We went because of the pricing we saw on line. And whilst we did get these prices at the checkout. They were NOT actually displayed in store. This was quite frustrating and probably lost them sales. I would also say that the display of any item was patchy and poor.

Not great nipped into to look at laminate flooring, no staff at the time we needed bearing in mind it would be a few £100s to spend, not in stock and didn't offer to arrange a check of stock in other stores,Went to a dedicated flooring shop, I'd suggest you so the same

  • 4/5 Peter Ivan h. 2 years ago on Google
Generally we'll laid out but thought overall the prices are quite a lot higher than comparably places went in for some Tonge and Grove and it was £8.50 for a pack of 5 whereas in B&Q they were £7.35 for a pack of 10. Must say they had a good furniture section and quite a few very special offers.
