The Sun Temple in Ollaytambo -- The pink granite was brought from the stone quarry located about 4 km far away, on the other side of the Sacred Valley. From the entrance, there are 150 steps to get to the Sun Temple. If you go early, you can experience the soft wind and the sun when touches gently the temple.

Great architecture. Moving and preparing the stone to fit seamless... Amazing. We would fail to do so...

Gorgeous view from above. Our guide mentioned March is the best time to visit as the mountains turns green and colorful because of the rain. The top of the temple offers gorgeous views. It may seem intimidating at first but it’s not a bad climb. Take frequent break and hug the wall to avoid the sun. The view is worth it!

The temple is solid and not something you enter. Most of your work is done trying to reach the top. The steps are uneven and alot of them. There is a decent view at the top, but if you are not in shape you may want to skip. It was harder on your body going back down.

Ollantaytambo was one of my favorite places that we visited while in Peru. The structures are incredibly impressive and they surround the entire area. We took a guided tour and heard a ton about the history which was super interesting. Make sure you go enough before dusk that you have plenty of time, cause they shut the place down when it starts getting dark. Tons of stairs. Pace yourself and take breaks when needed.

It's stunning, unique on earth, but there should be at least handrails where you climb down, because it's easy to trip on and those stairs are really worn out

Great place to visit while in ollantaytambo. Our tour guide from Heidi travels was very good and explained the significance to great extent. It takes around 2 hours to visit entire site. Views are amazing from the sun temple and the stones at the top are awesome.

Amazing views of the town and the valley. Awesome stoneworks -- it's difficult to comprehend the effort and techniques involved in creating this place with 14th century technology.

Worthy of seeing but very busy in the afternoon as visited by tourist groups heading to Machu Picchu and taking the evening train to Aguas Calientes.

Nice place to visit. It was a work in progress and never finished. Learned other things that you don't get in completed structures
