It was a fantastic visit, yes, there are some reproductions, but it’s precious anyway and it’s all in the same place. There are some real things too, very interesting, about the people that were here in this county before the Europeans arrived, it is a beautiful place to visit if you are visiting the city, there are so many things to see, and it’s free, so you don’t need to worry about it.

A small but fantastic museum. It is full of treasures from an Egyptian mummy to many pre-colonial items. Well-organised by geo-regions. You won’t mind the replicas as they were done extremely professionally. Plus the museum is free to the public and the reception lady was amazingly welcoming.

Best museum in Montevideo. Mix of original and reproductions of art throughout history Free

Centrally located and FREE for everybody. Lots of artifacts although some aren't original. Somehow that doesn't detract from the pleasure and you can learn from them too. Lift or stairs to and from lower ground floors. WCs. Information desk with a warm welcome from the staff. Thank you.

A great little museum with lots of artifacts, original and not. Very friendly reception and free entrance to all.

I do wish there was more commentary on art history to better contextualize the art, but the collection and replicas are very neat. I would strongly recommend visiting the Egyptian pieces
