    CASTELLANO · Fuente (y Plaza) de San Juan de la Cruz: If you know the hustle & bustle that is Madrid, then August will seem quite eerie - a city where most of the people has disappeared. The one common thing you will see in Madrid at this time of year, is an increased amount of roadworks, construction & cleaning of fountains. Also, loads of parking spaces, which is so cool. Yes, the Madridians escape the city heat & return en masse in September, with the youngsters starting school again.

    So many great places to see in Madrid. We used the hop on hop off bus to get around town and the Metro from the airport.
