(Translated by Google) Excellent tour part of the Metro Museums and located at the Opera station. By appointment, you can access a guided tour and audiovisual tour of the fountain, sewer and aqueduct in the center of Madrid from the time of the Habsburgs and which functioned until the 19th and 20th centuries. The original tangible heritage dates from the 16th-17th centuries, made up of three unique vestiges of Renaissance and early modern civil architecture. The explanation of the guide Javier is highly recommended. This visit is part of the Metro Passport tour.

A small archaeological museum, but immense in history. Javier passionately transmits all his knowledge and transfers it to each era he tells. We loved it!

Curious museum inside the Opera station. It houses the remains of a fountain, a sewer and an aqueduct that were found when building line 2 of the metro. Since the station was remodeled, the decision was made to show these remains to the public. He explains to us how Madrid was supplied with supplies in the 16th century. It can be visited for free but with a mandatory reservation. Another negative point is that the visit has to be guided no matter what, despite it being a very simple museum. It must also be taken into account that, as you are after passing the turnstiles, it is necessary to have a ticket to access.

(Translated by Google) I came a bit late and found it closed. Tomorrow I will put more photos if I can. But it is already an original point where it is located. But watch the video. It is a museum, yes, 10 meters underground. If you are going from the Sol metro station, change to line 2 (the red one) and one stop Opera. This is the station of this museum. An Exciting and Real Story. Let us remember that this area is the Madrid of the Austrias. I have to say that along with this there are only two metro stations, with this detail, just like the O station, Chamberi station, the ghost station !. That you can't miss it either. Look on Google Maps and then run to have fun.

(Translated by Google) One of the 8 museums that the Madrid metro has in the city. In a reduced space, it allows us to appreciate architectural remains that appeared in one of the remodeling of the station. It shows us remains of the sources of the Caños del Peral, of the sewer that channeled the Arenal stream and part of the aqueduct that carried water to the Royal Palace. It is necessary to have a valid transport title to access the museum since it is located inside the station. Outside the station, in Plaza de Isabel II, you can see some bronze models of how the square was at the time, as well as some bronze lines embedded in the ground that mark the location of the fountain. Tickets are free you need to book in advance.

(Translated by Google) A 10 for the guide. I don't remember his name but he is young with medium hair. In addition to transmitting his knowledge, he interpreted them as a theater actor. A 0 for visitors who had reserved a place and did not attend. There are only 25 places per shift and there were 9 of us. I got the last two. It is very difficult to get tickets in some subway museums to waste them like this.

Ruins from the mid-19th century. XVI of the fountain, aqueduct and sewer that was under the Plaza de Ópera. I love the state of conservation and the care of the museum, but above all the explanation of the guide, who is passionate about explaining the pieces and the history of the time. You really travel back in time and can understand what life was like at the time. The guard is also very nice and friendly. The visit is free and at the end of the visit there is a very short and very interesting video. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I LOVE IT.

It looks very fast, 15 minutes, although it is worth spending a little more time and watching the explanatory videos that tell you about the history of Madrid and the meaning of the remains that are seen. Note that it only opens a couple of days a week. Is free. (Translated by Google) Excellent improvised museum in a place of the Ópera Metro station, next to the platform of Line 2 towards Ventas. It presents the ruins found of the old Peral pipes, sewage system, aqueduct and other water collection and distribution system built more than 400 years ago and that have been recovered in the excavations when installing the elevators for the metro in that station. It corresponds to the level of the street that existed at that time, before raising the entire floor of the current square when the Royal Theater was built. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (preferably by appointment), there are free guided tours with magnificent explanations from a great guide named Javier.

I went to take the free guided tour. It is brief, concise, direct and clear. It is fragmented into three parts according to the three structures. The palace fountain, the canal and the aqueduct. The guide is very practical and always leaves room for doubts. I loved. Also, since it is short, you can fit it in with another plan or go out and eat. The clash of eras that occurs between these structures from the time of the kings and the much more contemporary metro is interesting.

A must visit to get to know in depth what the Los Caños del Peral area was like in ancient times. Very curious to know the odyssey of channeling water. The Museum's works, although not very large, are of great magnitude. A very difficult job carried out with the collaboration of the Madrid Metro. Special mention for our guide Javier. A 10 for him. Information that is entertaining, accurate and told with contagious enthusiasm. The 45 minutes of the visit felt very short. We left delighted.

(Translated by Google) Actually, more or less, the three Renaissance monuments can be seen from the outside. Perhaps it is the sewer system that is the worst appreciated. What I am clear about is that it is highly recommended to catch an entrance (it is much easier to get than that of Chamberí station or that of the Pacific lobby) and go in to see it more closely, especially since the explanations are very good and his presentation is perfectly understood. From the inside, in addition, some of the details are better appreciated and you can enjoy a short explanatory video of just over 4 minutes.
