Totally worth a visit I love the fact that its in one of the colonial building and as such the building is a monument itself. The location as provides a very nice view of the river. Our entrance fee included a guide. The museum has 6 different galleries addressing colonial, old Calabar, palm oil product, road to independence. Its definitely worth visit

Great place to go. The guide is really friendly. They do have quite a number of relics to view. Most items are related to Slave trade but there still are a couple of other things to see. The very building housing the museum is a relic itself that is worth seeing. They don't allow photography inside the museum so I am sorry I don't have good pictures to help but it's a good place to visit.

Used to be a government house but turned into a museum. Must visit if youbarebin Calabar as a tourist. My most impressive room was the fattening room, before and after pictures were incredible. I think a fee is paid for entrance and cameras and bags are not allowed inside. You can go in with your phone though. You can take pictures outside but not inside. There is a small shop there too where tourists can buy momentos and all that.

You know how exciting it was for me at the National Museum. Woah! Seeing something I've only read about as a child. It was fascinating. I saw the Cannon used by Orok Inyang, kept in the museum for several decades. The building itself was fabricated, imported and coupled here in Old Calabar several years ago and it's still maintained and in good shape till today. You find historic books in the museum bookshop. It's an interesting place to visit.

This old and run down building holds so much undiscovered history, and artifacts. Guides are available to walk you through the dark details of every artefact, slave trade in Nigeria and the history of Calabar in general.

National Museum, Calabar is one of the best museums in the southern part of Nigeria. It houses many relics and facts that survived the British colonial and slave trade era. It's a sure place to visit. So, when you're in Cross River State, make it a duty to visit the museum as this adds an icing to your visit and refreshes your historical memory.

Craves for proper handling and improvements. The place is apologetically a shadow of what it used to be back in the early 2000s and this is all down to neglect from both officials and the government. Politics sadly has wrecked so many things in our nation and this edifice is one of it. There is still some bit of hope if only we can get the right people to handle/manage places like this.

This museum has lots of history as should be. The guide knows her muesum well and takes us through entertaining and mind bogging details of every artefact. If you are into Nigeria History, slave trade, surving the slave trade period etc..this museum is for you. Unfortunately I'm giving you 3 stars since the museum building has been neglected over the years. It's now old and rundown!

Very friendly museum tour guides. The museum is filled with very valuable artifacts and relics from as far back as the 13th century. The Old Residency building itself, which serves as the home of the museum, is a work of art. A must-see on your first visit to Calabar.

This is the National Museum located in the very heart of Calabar Municipality in Cross River State of Nigeria. It is just a stone throw from the U J Esuene Stadium. In this museum, you will see a lot of things used during the Colonial government, the advent of slave trade, items used as means of trade and a lot of other things to really arrest your attention. It is indeed a nice place to visit with the family.

The National Museum Calabar is an amazing place to visit! It's one of the oldest and most renowned museums in Nigeria, and it's a must-see for anyone interested in Nigerian culture and history. πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬ The museum houses a wide range of historical artifacts, including ancient tools, textiles, and sculptures. It also has a gallery dedicated to the history of the slave trade, and a beautiful garden that's perfect for a relaxing stroll. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, and the museum is well-maintained. It's a wonderful way to learn about the rich culture of Nigeria!

National Museum, Calabar was built in 1959. It is notable as a home to the relics of the Calabar slave trade including names of people that aided it and the currency of the slave trade. It was built by colonial masters in 1959. The National Museum, Calabar designed and built in Glasgow by colonial masters is home to souvenirs from the slave trade. Come in to educate yourself about the history of our forefathers. The Museum is the best for so far for tourism attractions in the sense that it has very very amazing artifacts of ancient discoveries which are over 200-1000 years old.
