Very rowdy place especially on the destinated market day which is once every week. Be careful how you hold your purse and bags of goods...pick pockets and thieves every corner

Itam Market is one of the busiest markets in Uyo. It comes up once a week and Itam Market days is usually the busiest day of the week for Market Sellers. Itam Market days holds every eight day of the week and it rolls over. For instance, the last Itam Market Day was yesterday, Thursday, 2nd November 2023. The next Market Day will fall on Friday, 10th November, 2023. And after next week Friday, the next Market day will fall on Saturday, 18th November 2023. Since Itam Market does not hold on Sundays, if a market day falls on a Sunday, there will be no Itam Market Day for that week but it will be shifted to the next available Monday. And after that Monday, the next Market that is supposed to fall on Monday, will still hold. Hence, we will have two market days fall on two Mondays, before the eight-day count continues. Itam Market Days are very important because, sellers from Aba and other neighboring cities travel with lots of goods to come and sell hence, we have a lot of choice to make on those days. We get to buy new stuff, new things and fresh produce. However, this does not mean that if you go to Itam on a non-Market Day, you won't find goods to buy. You will, but they are usually leftovers from Itam Market Day sales and since everyone wants fresh goods, they flood the market on Market days.

😐 Well, it does seem to have everything one is looking for except turkeys. I wish they'd sell turkeys here the way the sell chickens. Any way I like how it has more businesses on the said market days. The market is ok, small by a general standard but nevertheless ok. You can get most of what you want...
