By far the best stadium in Nigeria. Beautifully built, nice landscaping and aesthetically pleasing to behold. While it may be hard to believe, the southern city of Uyo had no stadium with seats in 2007. Sports infrastructure policy changed as governor Godswill Akpabio took over. First, he authorized renovation of the existing township stadium, then commissioned plans for a new larger one, able to hold international events. And this birthed the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium we know now. The stadium seats on a 36-hectare land, which was selected along the south-western highway bypass of Uyo. This is a grandstand with necessary sporting and hospitality infrastructure (notably with a bullet-proof VIP and VVIP lounge) and remaining sections in the shape of a C. With two tiers on the entire perimeter, the stadium holds 30,000 people on individual seats, offering complete cover from rain – very common in the coastal region of Akwa Ibom. There is room for temporary expansion by a couple thousand and foundations in place can support up to 60,000 capacity in the future. A truly beautiful tourist destination. Opens 6:30AM - 6:00PM every day.

Akwa Ibom State has the best roads and stadium in Nigeria. Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo hosted the 2022 CAF Confederation Cup final. It has its own airline, Ibom Air which is Africa's only sub national airline.

Being my first time at Uyo, Godswill Akpabio International Stadium is also one of the highly recommended place worth visiting. The road leading to the Stadium is very good and the centre is well situated. The first thing I noticed is the landscape. There is a sufficient parking lots, and vast green land for long range sight relief. The facility is 30,000 capacity and have VIP, VVIP seats. I had fun exploring the track and taking nice pictures.

The Nest of Champions to the world!!!. You can’t visit UYO and fail to see this amazing edifice. It has hosted the CAF CONFEDERATION CUP FINALS and will surely get to host more big games. My first visit was when Athletico Madrid played a friendly match against our Super Eagles. A game viewed at 10:00 pm feels amazing

The Godswill Akpabio International Stadium (formerly Akwa Ibom International Stadium) is an all-seater national sports stadium located in Uyo, the state capital of Akwa Ibom. The stadium serves as a home to the Nigerian Super Eagles as well as a center for various social, cultural, and religious events. The contract for the construction of the Akwa Ibom International Stadium complex and Games Village was awarded in 2012 to Julius Berger and was completed in 2014. The 30,000 seater ultra modern multipurpose sports complex was modeled after Allianz Arena. Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel renamed Akwa Ibom Stadium as Godswill Obot Akpabio International Stadium, immediately following his inauguration ceremony on May 29, 2015 in the stadium. Godswill Akpabio was the immediate past governor of the state.

Godswill Akpabio International Stadium Uyo, is a very nice stadium also known as the Nest of Champions, it's called nest of champions because of it's hollow look, looking exactly like a nest. It's a beautiful stadium for sporting Activities, beautiful Environment of the Uyo city also enhanced the beauty of this Stadium, it's an international standard Stadium, it's found in Southern Heart of Nigeria, Nigeria as a nation had hosted a football game in this Stadium. It's a nice place to stay. It's road network, parking space, spa and other activities around makes it very okay to stay.

This is an amazing stadium and I must commend the govt of AkwaIbom for a job well done. This is by far the most beautiful stadium in Nigeria and it’s exceptionally well maintained. The place has enough parking space for cars and the security is top notch

It's a great footballing arena with training and standard pitches alongside tartan tracks for track-and-field. It is arguably the best in Nigeria. However, it is yet to reach its full potential as it is supposed to be capable of hosting an Olympics.

It was a very fun experience for me. I came with my friends to watch a match and it was more fun because Nigeria won. The stadium is really nice and my experience was great. Just that we had to do a long trekking to get home because there were no available shuttle s around there.

Beautiful, clean, massive! And darn the super eagles played wonderful football. There are no words that can be used to describe the experience until you actually go and experience it yourself. I give it a four star rating because when coming, we had an issue with the security at the gate, they wouldn't let us in until way later. Also, hold onto your phones and valuables closely as hands may find their way into your pants. 😩

The best stadium in Nigeria, no doubt. In build, in capacity, in infrastructure, in aesthetics? This is hands down the best stadium south of the Sahara!

Godswill Akpabio International Stadium comes up as one of the best if not the best I've seen in Nigeria so far. I love the design if the stadium, in fact it's finer than the National Stadium, Abuja. As it's always the case though with public facilities/ places, due maintenance could make a huge difference. I would also like to think the pandemic has slowed down a lot of activities around the stadium.

The stadium is located at about a 15 minutes drive from Ibom Plaza and along a very accessible route. The beauty of this ultra modern sports complex can be glimpsed from the outside however the inside is also a wonderful masterpiece capable of holding 30,000 spectators at a time.

Godswill Akpabio International Stadium is located at Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Boulevard, Uyo, Akwa Ibom #Nigeria. The stadium serves as a home to the Nigerian Super Eagles and has played host to several international and national sporting events. I was one of the Serving corps members that won free ticket to use it.

It's a beautiful place. One of the best stadiums in Nigeria yet. However, they lack Organisation and then, the maintenance culture is lacking there. But then, uyo on a whole is beautiful with friendly people. Very rich culture and their food is on point. It's one place I would love to visit over and over again. I also hope the international players come here again one of these days to play here.

The stadium is very well maintained and clean. I was actually surprised when I learnt it was 5 years old. It's easier if have your own means of transportation as might have wait to get a Keke or taxi back. The toilets are clean and there was training session whilst we were there. We got a guide to take us around. He was a bit grumpy but it didnt take away from the fact that the stadium was a good place to visit. I didn't pay anything to go on the tour ideally, I would have tipped the tour guide if he did a great job.
