The experience was magnificent. The owner was lovely, and very caring - showing great Cretan hospitality - as others have commented here. We went because of the high ratings by so many people - we wanted to try it out for ourselves. The food was great, the atmosphere and music beautiful (60s and 70s Greek music, mostly - very appropriate to accompany the food), and the interactions with the owner - Eutychia (which means “Happiness” in Greek) just lovely. Small place (Μικιό is a tender way to say Μικρό / Small, which was also the nickname of the owner, being the youngest in her family). Beautiful place. Give it a try - you will have a memorable experience. Great food. Five stars.

Awesome authentic Cretan cuisine hiding in the heart of Kypseli. We had an incredibly tasty dinner with amazing friendly service. Highlights include the pork steaks, tomatokeftedes, incredible fries and house wine. I’m gluten intolerant and there were many delicious options available!

This was the best food I ate so far in athens, daily there is a different menue and she translated it on the fly for me to english. The beef was phenomenal and so tender you dont even need a knife at all - On the side I got a white bean salad and some tzatziki which were also amazin in combination. I can definitely recommend it to try the food here and enjoy real authentic greek cuisine.

Great place run by only one woman that she cooks and serves. If you are around jump in for a raki and some freshly cooked Cretan food!

To Mikio is a very nice, small, comfortable restaurant/bistro with an excellent service and very tasty dishes. We found it by accident and returned numerous times. Highly recommendable!

This restaurant received high reviews and since it was around the corner from my hotel I thought I'd try it. The food was delicious. Filling and fresh. I got the meal if the day: lemon meatballs, roasted potatoes and carrots, fresh Greek salad with feta and a chunk of delicious bread for only €7.50. can't beat that! I would go back again.

Great Greek cuisine with friendly customers and really nice waitress who took time to translate the menu in English just for us, generous servings and really affordable, definitely a place to go when you come to visit Athens! We'll go back for sure!

This is a lovely place I ate at several times when I was in Athens last autumn (2023). It's really very affordable if you're on a small budget, and yet you still benefit from delicious Cretan flavoured foods. It's homemade food, which is great because it's healthier than the usual takeout, and everyday it's something different on the menu. I particularly enjoyed the Cretan herb pies, and also the mashed potatoes with garlic and small fish. The owner's name is Evtihia (sounds like Evtiheeya), and it means happiness. She's a wonderful person who works very hard everyday to bring this food to your plate, and the service is great. To Mikio means (the small place in Crete), and it's small. It's not a place to take a large group to because there isn't enough room, but you might be able to to take food out for a large group. Always best to ask. The address is Ioánnou Drosopoúlou 14, which is a side street in the Kipseli area. When I was there, the hours were from approximately 12 noon to 6 or 7 pm (at the very latest) Tuesday-Saturday, and I think it was open only for lunch on Sundays. Again, best to ask or phone to make sure.

The owner is extremely kind and nice and the food really delicious! We had the tomato balls and the pies with cheese and greens/spinach as well as fried potatoes and I recommend every dish, as well as the honeyed raki to drink!

I dined at To Mikio each day I was in Athens. The owner is warm and kind, and the food fresh and authentic. I will absolutely go back when I eventually return to Greece, especially for the Greek salad!

We met up with friends for dinner at To Mikio. It's a cozy, off the main path place. The service, food, and price were all excellent. We especially enjoyed the sausage and the cheese pies!
