When I am in Athens I always go out with a good local friend and we always end up in great taverne know mainly to locals. Over the years I have probably eaten in various dozens. This is definitely in the top 5. Only locals no tourists, great service very friendly atmosphere. Typical Greek food!! Go with friends and family and enjoy!!!! Even the prices are friendly!!!!

Meat lovers paradise. Gorgeous garden seating setting (also with choice of indoor dining). Nice ambience with jazz music. Really good quality food, portions and value. We had the stuffed burger and the salad with soft cheese topped with balsamic. A perfect setting for a romantic date yet also child friendly (there is a baby changing station in the ladies). They also serve local tsipouro served in traditional caraf. Great service. Very Clean newly renovated toilets.

It is a shame we cannot give extra stars. We came on a Wednesday evening when they have live music with songs from the 50ies to the most modern that are considered the most popular in Greece! We took a table inside where the temperature was excellent neither very cold due to air con nor hot as the temp outside was 28oC. The service was excellent. We had been greeted with a smile and we have been offered for free our first bottle of beer. Coming to the food we ordered fried courgettes, fava and saganaki. All of them were simply the best we had for a very long time in Greece. The main were a ribeye steak and “paidakia”. To say they were the best we had for a very long time doesn’t make them justice! The ribeye was tender and juicy and was melting in the mouth. The same for the lamb chops. At the end they inferred us watermelon (which was cold and sweet as it should be) and ice cream. We will definitely return as soon as we are back in Greece!

Replete with a beautiful rustic courtyard, good food, decent prices, and a friendly fat cat, this could be a great place. However - we were very disappointed by the staff. We sat outside to enjoy the sun and, when other guests arrived, the staff extended the tarpaulin to place everything in shade. They seemed to prefer to waste money on heaters. We asked why and the reason was 'it might rain in hour' - how about extending the cover if it does rain? We also were not allowed to sit at the table we wanted, for no apparent reason - the place was empty, with no reservation signs. The Greek customers seemed to be enjoying themselves. I wouldn't suggest Brits come here as there seems to be a cultural clash which I have interpreted for rudeness and stupidity. Edit after response from the owner: "Dear Mrs. Garland" 'Sean' is a man's name. "Thank you for your comment, but we believe that you are unfair to us and that because when you visited us it was a day that started with a little sun and continued with rain." It didn't rain at all that day. It was sunny when we were there. "As for all the rest, we have to tell you that by reading your reviews (in general) we find that most of the time you score without obvious reason with one or two stars, places that are world-renowned for their high quality service !!!!! !!!!" My reviews are as fair an objective as I can make them. I'm not sure if you're trying to claim your establishment is 'world-renowned' but it isn't. The service is mediocre at best.

Amazing tavern! Food was excellent in every aspect. Prices were great for the quality of food! Atmosphere is great at the garden. The food menu is comprised of only two pages which is just what you need. Reservations are advised if you're a large group on a Friday or Saturday night.

The food here is great so book a table in advance especially on weekends. It's a very nice and traditional Greek taverna with not a huge menu (smart) but everything we had was very tasty. The meat here is very nice and I highly recommend the lamb chops and the provatina. Just one concern here: most of the dishes are with high cholesterol and this is not the best place for vegans (although the salads were very fresh and tasty). We will definitely come again.

We went on a Saturday night with no reservation around 9pm (totally recommend to make a reservation to avoid any wait time) the hostess was polite and friendly an offered us a complimentary sangria while we wait for our table (25 min wait) .. the food was Devine !!! I had the liver and my friend had the lamp.. both dishes were amazing. Very reasonably priced as well

One of the best taverns of Athens. Food is amazing, the prices are good and the staff is helpful. Ribs and burger meat are the best thing! Portions sufficient and full.

Great traditional tavern. Their specialty dishes are the lamb chops, kontosouvli (pork skewer) and the pastourmadopita. Overall a very decent place with reasonable prices and good service.

The lamb chops were a little thin but other than that, excellent food and fantastic red house wine!!!! Please try it, the quality is amazing!

Nice food, very friendly staff, a bit noisy. Because of its modernization, it lost its old charm

Great for meat lovers, so for 99% of the population. Various options for starters, we had courgettes and aubergines, both were delicious. Main was biftekia, probably the best I ever had. Atmosphere was nice too, lovely outside area, we went lunchtime Sunday so it was busy but the service was immaculate. If you are around do go in, belly happiness guaranteed!!

Interesting ambience in terms of the surroundings, quality ingredients, very tasty dishes and not very expensive. Keep in mind that it can get quite busy and somewhat loud, if that's alright with you. I'd recommend a visit.

Nice taverna of the Athenian suburbs with decent food. Met the expectations for such places. We were seated at the outdoors area where the smoking allowed. However the smell of the smoke was intense and kinda ruined the experience. Hence the four out of five stars.
