The place is definitely unique. The deli options and menu is very special for sure. Navigating the menu is a bit hard to be honest. Many items and words are not explained enough and the waiters are not very helpful in explaining them as well. However the food is simple but super delicious. The eggplant and tomato salad which doesn’t look anything special was amazing. Really unique and super delicious. We tried 2 of the pies and they where both super great. The one with spicy sausage was especially great and had a real kick to it. The egg dishes where not to my personal liking to be honest.

We tired different restaurants with high reviews but none comes close to this restaurant. This is by far the best restaurant that you can find in Athens. I am so happy that we accidentally found this restaurant but at the same time I am so sad because we found it on the last day of our trip. For sure we will come back next time when we come back. Highly recommended.

As a starter we took cod fish roe “tarama” salad with grated greek bottarga and Aubergines & zucchini with feta cheese in spicy cappadocian sauce. With this delicious introduction we continued with Aivali mini kebabs with pita bread, french fries, yogurt and potatoes and the second was homemade pasta Mandi “karamanlidiko” with pastirma. Everything was served by friendly waitresses. We enjoyed so much Athens and thank you for this great greece food experience. Truly recommend this place!!

We were presented with complimentary cold cut and cheese shortly after being seated. Unique variety of dishes that aren't seen in other touristy restaurants in Athens. The smoked eggplant in the tomato salad gave it a nice flavour punch to the dish. The anchovies were acidic and salty which paired well with the pita. Mandi which was pasta with minced meat inside with tomato yogurt was tangy and savoury but some of the pasta had hard pasta skin at its edge. They provided free greek yogurt with quince(?) jam at the end. Would recommend this place.

Wonderful service with phenomenal traditional Greek food! We had the hummus, which was amazing, Greek salad, and chicken kebabs. The meat was so tender and juicy with the perfect blend of spices.

It was a pleasant food experience but i suppose we expected somehow different options/ tastes. I liked the most the musaka, it was very interesting, maybe some of the tasty i eaten. The reinterpreted national spanish dish (patatas bravas with fried huevos and iberico ham) was a nice option but the the meats were not on my taste (this is a subjective treat since my significant one liked them). The fishroe salad was different for what we know but it was tasty(it was like a fish cream). Was nice to receive a free amouse bouche in the begining and a dessert at the end - yogurt with quice marmelade. The staff was very nice, indeed.

I think it is one of the best restaurants in this area. We didn't have any reservation when we wanted to dine in for lunch hour rush and managed to get a table near the kitchen where we can see all the actions happened. Service was friendly and prompt with quick food service. Taste fantastic, and the portion was big. Recommended to get a reservation before show up as after us, the queue started to build up.

Recommend! It is my first meal in Athens - and also the best during my three day stay. Kebab is perfect, love the hot buns especially! Yogurt with sweetened carrot is absolutely the BEST yogurt I tried in Athens, and also free!

Excellent, truly. They have a few locations, and a meat shop near the central market. Do not miss their meat dishes, although everything is good. Very high quality with very fair prices. Good service, lovely atmosphere, although recommend not to sit right next to the door, since it is a very busy street. High ceiling and nice details. Wish I could have eaten there every day. Great greek wines by glass. You won't regret going there!

Came across this place as we walked up the road. The Greek family having a family celebration made it look inviting. We took our table and the staff could not have been more helpful. Truly great food. The hummus, fava, chickpea dish and the kebab. All wonderful. Will be going back for sure.

Fantastic authentic Greek restaurant. Super friendly, welcoming and efficient service with flavorsome home style cooked dishes of quite generous portions and freshly baked pita bread on site. Far from the touristy commercial spots this is the place to be if you are seeking a truly authentic Greek experience at all levels (atmosphere, local clientele, heartwarming home cooked meals) Make sure to book as the place is packed .

We really enjoyed our meal here, and I wish I could have tried even more items from the menu. The dolmades were perfection - so luxurious. The eggplant and zucchini dish was amazing, and the capers and cheese on the Greek salad made the perfect bite every time. They served a complimentary dessert of Greek yogurt with candied carrots at the end, and it was the best yogurt I've ever had. Don't hesitate, just eat here!

Came here for dinner after being recommended. We arrived with no reservation and luckily there was a table left for us, after that the queue for a table was lining the streets outside! Would recommend booking before turning up. The restaurant felt cramped with tables being so close to one another, the tables were also very narrow and a little uncomfortable to sit at. The staff were a mixed bag, some were attentive, others were quite abrupt. The food was AMAZING and I can see why this place is so popular. We shared the vine leaves to start which were great. I had the chicken shish kebab and my husband had the moussaka which he said was the best he had ever tasted! Would recommend this place for the quality of the food, just don't expect to have the most relaxing meal.

Went here for lunch on the last day of the trip and couldn't think of a better way to round things off. Great food, pleasant service and there was even another guy behind me in line who'd been trying to go for a few days but it had either been closed or he couldn't get a table. Photos speak for themselves!

If you want to experience 100% local Greek cuisine, this is the right place. Whatever you order, all are unique. Despite the crowd and huge demand, the staff is always smiling and hard working. On Saturday evening, we didn't have a reservation but we were offered a seat right after waiting around six minutes outside and it was definitely worth that !

Possibly the best in its category! Superb food, exquisite traditional cuisine. Been here many times and they consistently amaze us. Friendly and polite staff I would recommend the chickpeas, the pastirma pie and the chicken skewers

My number one top favorite of 100% local and authentic Greek cuisine in Athens! Every dish is very unique and created with love, you can taste it! The Grape leaves, saladas, Mandi and the cured meats are out of this world! They also offer this very special yogurt with prepared pineapple... I will continue to dream of this establishment when I can't visit in person!

What a great experience. Food was hot and tasty. Service was excellent. The vine leaves were so good. I also had Eggplant and zucchini in a red sauce. The complimentary yogurt with candied carrots was a great way to end the meal. Prices were so reasonable. Felt like a local spot not touristy.

Great little place for traditional cold cuts and cheeses plus they do a full array of hot dishes like kebabs. Prices were very reasonable and staff friendly.

We came to the restaurant for dinner. We were two couples. As they seated us at the patio, we got a tasting plate of pastrami and cheese, with freshly baked bread. For starters we shared cheese pastry and eggplant salad. For main course we had pasta, beef and potato stew, sousages on pita bread and pork steak. Everything was very good. They brought us a dessert to share - yogurt with honey and pumpkin marmalade (see photo). We will definitely come back here next time we are in Athens.

Absolutely lovely food, service and atmosphere. We felt very looked after as they gave us a free meat and cheese appetiser as well as a free yoghurt and honey dessert! The salad and bread main were both delicious and fresh. Super quick service too. They didn't charge for the water as it was tap water. Very affordable - we made it at less than €10 per person. Ideal for sharing dishes in groups. Highly recommend.

Absolutely loved this place! Great atmosphere with a marketplace vibe, busy with locals before the Greece match that evening, we thought there was no space but service staff got us a table. Very generous portions of authentic Greek food, I was stuffed by the end but no regrets. Excellent wine selection too.

Went here for lunch. Really cute interior. Super nice staff. Food comes out quickly and portions are solid for the price. We got the grape leaves, marinated anchovies, and one of the kebabs. The grape leaves were some of the best we've ever had and the anchovies were fantastic. The house pita was so good to dip in the juices from the anchovies and grape leaves. Highly recommend. We paid a little over €20 for everything and fed two people very comfortably. Definitely go here if you can!

Superb! Was recommended by a local and the food was amazing. I ordered the Dolmas (stuffed grape leaves) and a Tomato, Feta, Eggplant “Pie” which just turned out to be a pizza flatbread. I also had a glass of white wine for 4 euro! It’s on the main street, and they don’t have outdoor seating, but the AC with open windows was still lovely. They seated me right away (no reservation), and then served a slice of pastrami & a manchego cheese as an amuse bouche on the house (im sure the specific meat and cheese rotates, to highlight all the deli items you can purchase a la carte to take home). They had hand sanitizers on each table which was helpful after a long day of sightseeing. Service was prompt, and they didn’t rush me at all. They served another free item at the end after paying your check, a delicious yogurt with preserved sweet carrots (sounds weird but trust me it was delicious and you’d never know it was carrots!). I want to try to recreate it at home it was that memorable and tasty!

Very good food, very friendly staff, nice environment and reasonable price. Due to the virus attack though I think, not a lot of business, which is a pity. I for sure strongly recommend this restaurant, very nice, also they have a dip, made of feta cheese and spices, good and special.

Service, as everyone else has mentioned, is superb. You instantly feel welcomed and get a nice slice of cold cut with cheese while waiting outside. Food and wine also delicious of course, and prices for me is real value for money. I had the Hunkur Begendi veal with mashed eggplant - portion size was decent, very tasty !

So good ! I had the dolmadakia and the kavourmas, both were delicious. The service is fast, the waiter/ress(es) are very nice, and the restaurant is quite cheap (starter + main + a glass of wine = 16€). And they offer a dessert (greek yoghurt with orange jam). Ephraisto !

We made the right choice coming here! Food is very tasty, loved all of it. We ordered the moussaka and mandi (pictured), as well as the vine leaves starter. The beer was also delightful. And the staff was extremely nice and helpful. They offered some pastrami and cheese when we arrived, which had a strong but delicious taste. For dessert we were too full to order but they offered some Greek yogurt with sweet carrots (honey I think?). Anyway we will come back next chance we have, everything was perfect, even on a rainy day. Edit: Came back after a few days. Food is still as good as ever! We ordered the moussaka again. It is really good, I'll have dreams about it when I return home. We also tried the pastrami pie, very good and very nice to look at too.

The first impressive restaurant after i came to Athens. It has its own type of food, not like others, always the same menu for tourists. Good taste of ham and cheese. And service is also definitely over average level.

Lady luck. When I am lost in Athens and know that at I am at least an hour away from my new home and that I am hungry, and wondering around not really sure where to eat, and suddenly lady luck pulls me by the sleeve and I discover this unreal place, well even a fortune cookie could not have predicted it.. It is lunch time and I needed a quick bite as my feasts are reserved for the evening. Popped in and was immediately given wafer thin slices of ham and chunks of aged cheese to try, on the house. I ordered small kofte kebabs served with the home made bread, huge stone built oven in the back, tomatoes, cucumber, tsatsiki, mustard and sliced fried potatoes. I often order the same when I am here in Greece as I am a huge fan of kofte which are minced beef and lamb, seasoned and with added spices. Wow, they were delicately spiced and the best I have had so far, but everything on the plate was delicious and I think what ever you order here you will not be disappointed. I am looking forward to coming back and taking away some of the aged cheeses, salamis, home made marmalade.. Also, this is a great way to impress my friends, after a few weeks of living here, I have managed to stumble upon some of the haunts of the local foodies. Stana

Absolutely a 5 star place. Taverna with a modern twist, excellent and fresh ingredients; stunning tastes. Stuff is very kind, especially the restaurant manager who went out of his way to make sure we had a pleasant time. And for a ‘meat’ taverna , they have great vegetarian options!

Amazing little shop to have a bite. We felt very welcome here and had some amazing food. It is, however, a good idea to share the dishes. We were Ill prepared for the quantity that was delivered, and as such had more then we required. I highly suggest visiting this place if you love meat and/or cheese. Edit: Upgraded to 5 stars. We were so impressed with this place that we actually went back after touring the city two days later. I tried the moussaka and have to say it is a very close second to the best one I've ever eaten (which was homemade). All in all we might end up back here before we leave and it will definitely be in my plans if I ever come back to Athens.

Incredible place ! I came here with no clue, just looking for lunch and I got surprised. Very kind attention, they served some courtesy and the mini kebab that I ordered wasn’t mini at all and it was amazing ! They speak good English, and prices are excellent compared to other restaurants around. Also good decoration, music, they serve water and gived me a dessert as “their tradition”. 10/10 would come back.

I highly recommend this restaurant, as long as you're not a vegetarian. It has a marketplace-like atmosphere, with garlic and sausages hanging from the walls. The food was great, and plenty for the price you pay. And the service is excellent. We got a bottle of cold water and a piece of ham before our order. And there was also a free dessert, which was yogurt with some dry fruit. Aside from our main dishes we ordered a plate of fava, with some bread. I do recommend this as a side dish.
