Awesome temple to visit if you are in Athens. Ticket included with Acropolis one. Try to visit it earlier like 8am and out of peak season.

The Temple of Athena is small yet such a huge asset to the Acropolis. The columns that make it up are designed with such beautiful sculptures. It's truly a work of art and awesome to see.

Majestic and pristine. You need to see it to believe it. Soak in the history while the sun scorches your skin - don't worry just being an umbrella, you will need it if you are visiting this place in summer. To live it more, visit the Acropolis Museum.

Are you kidding me? there is nothing here, nothing except for some hardly recognizable foundations. If this was the only attraction at the Acropolis no one would spend a red penny to venture out here and get sunburned to look at some scattered foundation stones. The only reason you MIGHT look at the mess is that its on the way to the Erechtheion.

At this point, the foundations of the Ancient Temple of Athena Poliados are preserved, based on correlations from ancient sources. It is a building made of wood and bricks, which is older than the rest according to findings from excavations at its site. These findings from the 8th century BC. are related to the decoration of the building and are exhibited in the Acropolis Museum, but also in the National Archaeological Museum. One of them is the circular copper plate in the form of a jellyfish that dates back to 660 BC. The temple was a Doric pavilion with dimensions of 43 x 21 meters, it had a porch and a nave. It had two gables. One of them had the theme of the Battle of the Titans and part of it is on display in the Acropolis Museum. Part of the second pediment is preserved, depicting two lions attacking a bull. The temple was set on fire in 480 BC. by the Persians and was finally destroyed in 406 BC.

Is amazing. 3000 years of history. The only cons is that there is no explanations, the only map guide was in Greek. QR code can be a solution at each site.

The Temple shows the stand of Democracy and equality through its corinthian Marbre pillars. Dispointed to hear that the actual construction mainly rebuilt and restored . am dispointed also about the hardship a difable (different ability) person might have to access.

(Translated by Google) Was built at the current location of the Parthenon, so nothing to see on the acropolis, but some remains from the archaic period are on display in the acropolis museum!
