Masali is a hidden gem in the north of Mauritius. My wife and I visited this place on our honeymoon. We’ve had Indian food in lots of places but this place is by far the most authentically flavored Indian food we’ve had. We had the non veg platter (tandoori chicken, grilled fish, tandoori shrimp, and mutton curry) along with some curries, and assortment of Indian breads. The portions were more than adequate and price was very affordable. This is a family owned restaurant so atmosphere is casual, warm, and welcoming. What we loved the most about this restaurant is that they believe food is a source of good health and nutrition, but they didn’t compromise on flavor. I would give this place 10 stars if I could. I highly recommend. Our server Danny was a real joy to chat with. He shared the most intriguing stories.

The food here was great. We tried Dal fry, Jeera Rice, Hyderabadi Biryani, Soup and evrything tasted great. The quantities are also good. The only thing is they accept only cash.

We arrived here for dinner and realised that we did not have our wallets and was cash only, the owners were extremely kind and said that we could dine in and come back the next day and pay. We had prawn berayani and Hyderabadi lamb berayani both were delicious. We will probably have lunch when we are there tomorrow to pay.

This has been the only restaurant on Mauritius we went for a second time as it had the best Indian food we ever tasted. Unfortunately we discovered quite late within our holidays. The staff had been really nice. We recommend every Indian food loving person to go there or if not Indian food loving to become one there.

recently visited masali and I must say, the food was what I expected. The owner and staff were incredibly humble and friendly, which added to the overall positive experience. We happened to have an event in the vicinity, and despite restaurant being close to closing hours, they went above and beyond to accommodate our request for food at 10:30 pm at evening on Friday night. Their exceptional service and willingness to meet our needs truly impressed me. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for delicious vegetarian Indian cuisine and a welcoming atmosphere.

Upfront: I am sorry for guy behind the bar. He was very friendly, but he had no idea what he was doing in restaurant. It was by far the worst restaurant we had in Mauritius. We waited 30 minutes to get the Menue. After that another 15 minutes for drinks. We waited over 2 hours for the food. When the food came he told us that he doesn’t have octopus at all. We also got the wrong food. He also said, that the chef doesn’t work today and other people were cooking (I checked the kitchen: 4guys cooking). It was only us and another couple of customers in the whole evening. Feedback to the owner: just tell upfront that it will take longer today and start serving drinks. We would have understand the situation, but you just kept us waiting with no info.

This place is incredible! If you like either spicy or non spicy food this is the place for you, the meals can be adapted to how hot you like it which is very nice. The dishes are very tasty and there is a wide variety of choices. The service is amazing and the prices are very reasonable. I highly advice this restaurant for indian food lovers !

After over 2 weeks travelling around Mauritius we were looking for some good South Indian food. It was a 15 minute walk from our apartment but well worth it. We have been twice and will return again before moving on. Service is good. Food is excellent. Starters brought quickly with a proper wait before main courses (something we have found unusual here) Highlights were chicken tali, pani puri and mutton hydrabadi biriani. Good value for money too. Shame they don't take cards but don't let that stop you from going to the best restaurant in Mauritius.

Exceptional value. Unpretentious surroundings, tasty fresh Indian food and good friendly service. Definitely worth the fair walk up from the beach area.

The food was absolutely wonderful. If it were possible to give this establishment more than 5 stars, I would do it. We tried Indian cuisine here for the first time and were very pleased with everything. The tea is very tasty and a must try. Amazing experience in a stunning location

An outstanding experience at Masali! The staff's friendliness made us feel right at home, and the impeccable price-performance ratio was a pleasant surprise. While outdoor seating can be a bit noisy due to the street, the tasteful interior adds to the overall charm. The dishes were exceptional, with the Pani Puri, Garlic Cheese Naan, and Prawn Masala standing out. We left the restaurant satisfied and delighted, and a return visit is definitely on our agenda. Highly recommended for a flavorful and enjoyable dining experience!

Just great food! When in Mauritius, try the local food! Most of the tourist restaurants that I've tried were really just... tourist traps! Fancy food names, high prices (if the food is relatively cheap, the drinks are not), but the taste is nowhere near the local!

We discovered this place on our way to the temple in Triolet. As we love Indian food we were very curious about this place. The food was amazing! We have ordered Korma and a starter. Portions are big, we shared and were fully. Naan was great. Prices are really good.

Authentic Indian food in Mauritius. The food was really delicious. The service was great. People were really nice and friendly. They even made small portion food for baby (baby appropriate) when i asked if it was possible. We tried a couple indian places here, and this was best by far.

Had a take away dinner from here last night to eat on the beach for sunset.... Was prepared in good time and the atmosphere of the restaurant is warm and welcoming, had we not wanted to picnic on the beach we would have for sure stayed to eat there. All the food was absolutely delicious, if a little too spicy for us but that's our fault for not requesting for mild spice. The biriyani rice was a massive portion enough for 4 people. (No photos of food sadly as it was too dark on the beach to get a good shot)

Amazing food cooked and served by incredibly lovely people. Both food and drinks very authentic. Even though we are from Spain and couldn’t speak their language they made a really big effort to be understood. Will definitely go back!

I got a take away today. It was absolutely delicious and very authentic Indian food. Probably the best Indian food I've had outside of India. Without doubt the best Indian food in Mauritius. I highly recommend

Cute little restaurant that gives Himalayan vibes. I suggest ordering the veggie pakoras, they are extremely delicious! Food could be a little spicier, but they have yummy green chutney that can bump up the spice factor of your food. Nice and soft naan. Great food, great service, and great prices.

Best South Indian Restaurant we tried in Mauritius. Delicious Garlic Naan and best palak Paneer! Also try their home made rice cooked in milk with lots of spices if you are there. It’s amazing. The owner is extremely sweet and service was 10/10!
