Kirti Mandir was built by Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III of the Gaekwad dynasty of the Marathas to perpetuate the glorious memory of his beloved ancestors. The sun, the moon and the earth in bronze with the undivided map of India adorn the shikhara of Kirti Mandir. It was built in 1936 as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III. The temple houses five wall paintings by artist Nandalal Bose showing various phases of battle of Mahabharata, and some episodes from Indian mythology. The city of Vadodara, also popularly known as Baroda, used to be the seat of the Gaekwad or Gaikwad monarchs. It was formerly called by many names. The city was referred to as Chandravati, then Viravati, and Vadpatra due to the great quantity of banyan trees on the River banks of Vishwamitri. Kirti Mandir is situated in the city of Vadodara .It is a collection of temples built by Sayajirao Maharajah near the Vishwamitra Bridge of the city. It is believed that Sayajirao Maharaja built this Kirti Mandir in the memory of deceased members of the royal Gaekwad family and the edifice is dedicated to Lord Mahadev. Today it is a major tourist attraction in the city.

Kirti Mandir: Royal Family Graveyard Magnificent from outside but inside look is comparatively down. They have security guard but not will maintain as security purpose. The inner hall is very large, you need to remove shoes after that you can visit largest hall which has many walls, pillars and paintings on the roof. The facade looks pretty royal and 2 round shaped stairs are there for entrance, but this gate was closed. Ths place having small temple and used for royal family funeral.

Kirti Mandir or the Temple of Fame is the cenotaph built for the members of the Baroda royal family. Situated near the Vishwamitri Bridge, it is an impressive structure complete with ornate carvings, balconies, terraces, and domes. You can find various murals adorning the walls of this structure that represent the battle of Mahabharata. The central arch of the structure displays a map of undivided India along with bronze structures of the sun, the moon, and the earth. The rooms of the Kirti Mandir display photographs and statues of the Gaekwad family.

Kirti Mandir is on the main road that goes towards the Vadodara old city, its exactly opposite to the Ssg government hospital. Its a beautiful historical Palace, that being used by the Vadodara Municipal Cooperation for various art and craft exhibitions. It's a heritage structure and one has to check the timings for the various events that are held here.

It's building to commemorate the success of SayyajiRao Gaekwad dynasty. It's closed for visitors but you can see it from outside. This beautiful building compound has a Dattatreya temple. This also has a pet care center just behind the Kirti mandir building.

Not a mandir but a museum of a kind which is usually closed. Nothing much to explore here. Few Mandirs at the back are really worth visiting. Only a few people decide to explore that side of the area but that side shouldn’t be missed.

Kirti Mandir Vadodara, Gujarat Built in 1936 as a royal mausoleum of the Gaekwad dynasty, Kirti Mandir now stands as a glorious monument of Vadodara. The grand building, situated in the heart of the city, was set up in the honor of Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III's silver jubilee celebration. This E-shaped building features beautiful elements like balconies, terraces, tombs, domes and a brilliantly carved 35 meters high central shikhara. Although it looks simple from the outside, but the temple interiors showcases impressive pictures, murals by Nandalal Bose, based on themes like Gangavataran, Life of Meera, the battle of Mahabharat and Natir Poojan and some rare paintings from the famous artist Raja Ravi Varma. No doubt, Gaekwad's were the heir to a tradition of oriental refinement, a great patron of the arts, literature, philosophy and science, all these are best depicted through the exteriors and interiors of Kirti Mandir.

Kirti Mandir, also known as the Temple of Fame, is a historical and cultural landmark located in Vadodara, Gujarat, India. It is dedicated to the memory of the Gaekwad dynasty, which ruled the princely state of Baroda (now Vadodara) from the 18th century until India's independence in 1947. Kirti Mandir was built in 1936 by Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III, the visionary ruler of Baroda, to honor the members of the Gaekwad dynasty. The structure serves as a mausoleum and houses the cremated remains of the Gaekwad family members, including Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III and other prominent personalities. The architectural style of Kirti Mandir reflects a blend of various influences, including Hindu, Islamic, and European elements. The central dome of the structure resembles the central dome of the Gol Gumbaz in Bijapur, Karnataka. The temple is adorned with intricate carvings, beautiful murals, and stained glass windows, showcasing the rich craftsmanship of the artisans of that era. Inside the Kirti Mandir, there are several memorials and portraits depicting the Gaekwad dynasty's history and notable figures. The museum within the temple complex showcases artifacts, photographs, and personal belongings of the Gaekwad rulers, providing visitors with insights into their lives and contributions to the region. Kirti Mandir is not only a historical monument but also a significant cultural center. It attracts tourists, history enthusiasts, and devotees alike, who come to admire its architecture, pay their respects to the Gaekwad dynasty, and learn about the region's rich heritage.

A nice structure built in the memory of the ancestors of Maharaja Sayajirao III on the holy grounds of the Kedareshwar Temple. The facade looks beautiful besides the architectural beauty (notice how the structure is built as an 'E'). The hall has four paintings from different events in mythology and a statue of Maharaja Sayajirao III. Also just beside the temple within the same compound stands the temples of Kedareshwar Mahadev and another Mahadev Temple. These are old and definitely worth a visit. Although I don't think they are well maintained, but may be that's because they are really old. I would recommend an evening visit to this place (shouldn't take more than an hour).

The Kirti Mandir is in the centre of Vadodara city and an artisitic building with a tall dome over the main building. It is a temple shaped dome and a venue for various exhibitions etc. specially during Diwali festival where they host Rangoli exhibitions. It is worth a visit while in Vadodara if you have spare time and learn the history of this place. It is a resting place for the departed of the erstwhile Royal family members of Vadodara.

It's more or like a place where events takes place. Guard over there said that it's a royal family personal temple. Architecture of temple is magnificent as it looks like a combination of temple from upper side and structurally line a Palace. It is very near to Sayaji Bagh and opposite to Government hospital. It was closed when i visited it so i just walked in it's premises. It has park and trees around it.
