One of the best places in Coimbra! The park is fantastic, it's very calm and big. You can see trees and plants from all around the world, you can sit and read or relax! It has more than one entrance, it has a free bathroom and a greenhouse with tropical plants (however it's expensive, 12 euros). Overall a fantastic park and a must if you are in Coimbra! (It opens at 9 a.m )

What an amazing garden, simply breath-taking. In the middle of the city, such a vast green area, full of life, the architecture very well kept ,it's a Must if you visit Coimbra. I was short on time and didn't enjoyed as i should've, but i will keep it on my bucket list to go back and spend more time. Also i went at sunset time which i highly recommend it because it adds a very relaxing vibe to the place, perfect for meditation ,despite the number of students that you find frequently due to the fact that there's a huge university just across the street.

A peaceful oasis in the picturesque, historic city of Coimbra. It features exotic and endemic species of plants if you take your time to really admire the plants. I highly recommend visiting this garden if you have 2-3 hours during a sunny day here.

Jardim Botânico is a large garden in the middle of the city of Coimbra, Portugal. The garden is nearby the university. You can walk in five minutes from the garden to the old university buildings. In the garden you can walk around and discover the large diversity of trees and flowers. It's definitely a recommendation for a visit, especially on a hot day in the summer.

Nice garden but honestly speaking I was expecting a bit more. Some areas are looking a bit like a lost garden. The sensory garden was nice! The entrance in the glass house must be organized in advance. I recommend this garden for a nice walk.

What a nice botanical garden. To visit this place there is no queuing and no ticket necessary. The garden showcases quite a lot of variety and different displays explain and describe some of the plants and trees more in detail. As this should be part or in our case the end of every Coimbra university tour it is definitely worth a visit. Even on a crowded day in Coimbra you'll find peace in this garden.

This location is very lovely. Wonderful place to visit for a quiet walk alone, a family gathering or to sit and read a book. Beautiful greenery amd flowers to view as well. Shaded areas invite you in to escape the sun. There are benches amd some table for enjoying a snack or quick lunch.

We spent a really nice afternoon discovering the botanical garden. Many things were closed but we loved it. If you have time definitely go there. As you walk around you discover old installations I felt like in a Harry Potter movie.

Nice way to walk down after the university instead of through town. Some big beautiful trees and the bamboo forest was very nice. Nothing amazing as botanical gardens go. You need a reservation to go into the greenhouse of tropical plants, but can see them from outside. We were a couple of weeks shy of all the blooming trees and flowers, bit some were just starting to bloom.

A great place to rest, meditate in prayer and giving thanks to Jesus for His Love, Mercy and Grace. The city do such a good job in maintaining the gardens. Thank you for your work.

Specious and very well maintained. A lot of variety of trees and flowers. The glass house needs reservations and we couldn't visit it. Lovely park for relaxing and recharging. Free of charge.

Absolutely stunningly beautiful place for a wander. There’s a huge bamboo forest, multiple greenhouses, and the oldest heart of the garden is really beautiful. I particularly enjoyed the sensory garden, where there are all kinds of odd plants to touch, smell, and even taste!

A beautiful garden with romantic charm, precise geometry and lovely shade. The place could use a little maintenance and care in some places. Overall, though, it's a lovely stop in the city, and if you're lucky and it's not too crowded, it's downright fabulous.

What a wonderful botanical garden. This is part of the University of Coimbra and it is quite large. I was impressed by the bamboo forest which I was not expecting. The overall garden is very pleasant to walk in and it offers several spots where you can have a sit in the shade during sunny days. Very surprisingly this is a place you can visit for free! If you are in Coimbra I think this is one of the places you don't want to miss!

Such a beautiful oasis of tranquility! Swans. Row boat rental in a small lake. Museums. So many beautiful shade trees. This park is just about perfect.

Very large garden in the heart of coimbra city. It’s very rare to have such a large parc in the middle of such an old city. It’s a nice place to have a rest and take time to ear the birds.

Fantastic place. Point of peace and beauty in the heart of the city Coimbra.

Interesting and beautiful botanical gardens that are free to enter. The 4 sense garden was very well done and would be great for children to learn about various herbs and plants or for the visually impaired. The magnolias and camellias were blooming and there are many interesting stone arches and other architectural elements. There is a large glasshouse but entry requires RSVP. Did you know bamboo can grow as fast as 5 cm per hour?!

Beautiful gardens, great for learning about plants or just being outside, in a well arranged park.

A beautiful shaded walk in the botanical garden! Loved the bamboo mata (forest)

Very serine. Loved the mellow vibe. Loved the old city built into the garden. But if you are a botanical enthusiast maybe don’t expect to be overwhelmed with the various flora and fauna. However the beauty of the city around makes you feel like it’s the garden of dreams…
