The only place to have genuine Bidadi Thatte idli. The idlis were perfectly soft and tasted excellent. A must try place and highly recommended 🤗

Bidadi is a known pit stop for thathe idli and this place is one of the options available at Bidadi. Taste was decent, quick service and open air seating. Good bit is that a bucket full of bhaji and chutney is on tables for self serve which makes service quick. They don't have sambar, which is a miss for me since I enjoy sambar dip idli/vada. Suggest to try other similar adjoining shops as well. I tried idli on the adjacent shop which was better (much softer), bhaji was more flavored while the vada there wasn't as good as Renuukamba.

This is our usual breakfast place while travelling on Mysuru Bengaluru highway. Thatte Idli & chutney is an all time favourite here. We also like masala dosae here. The red chutney smeared inside the dosae gives a super kick. Vada is also awesome. But sometimes, the Idli is not fully cooked. During weekends & crowded days, the staff sometimes take Idlies out of the steamer earlier than expected, & this results in uncooked Idlies getting served. If you go here, don’t miss Idlies with butter. Coffee is decent. Not too good

Too much hype! The quality of food was not at all good. We ordered a single idli but he simply brought and placed the plate which had 2 idlis and a cold vada! Idli was not at all an authentic one, felt they had added cooked rice. Lemon rice was also below average. Got stomach upset after having breakfast here.

Really a wonderful find. A literal hole in the wall kinda place and it’s supposed to be quite an old establishment. If you observe carefully the original shop structure is intact even though they have expanded the space over the years. The food is fabulous. The idly is simple out of this world ; soft and fluffy with a dollop of butter on it paired with the yummy chutney and crisp vada. Fabulous experience !

I had breakfast here, they served very soft fluffy thatte idly topped with butter along with chutney. Got medu vada and masal vada both were relly good and crispy. The idly was very fresh fluffy and soft and tasted good. I also had coffee here which was served in a small mud pot which was good. Best place to have breakfast on the wat to mysore..

Great food. Authentic thatte idly, benne dosa, set dosa, vada in the offering. Mini coffee is so tasty. We were 4 of us. We had 3 benne dosa, 3 plates of thatte idly, 4 vada, 3 coffee and bill was 330 Rs. I remember having garmaa garam Thatte idly en route to Mysore at this place 15 years back and that time it was just drive-in.. eat from your car. Now, they have expanded to a place where you can sit n eat. The kaaraa chutney is so yummy 😋 😍 In all, value for money!!!

One Of The Oldest Iconic Hotels Which Server The Hottest And Freshest Idly Fun The Past 30 To 40 Years .. The Butter Is also Freshly Prepared Everyday . If U Ask They Will Add Extra Masala To Chitranna And Serve Which Will Be Very Flavour Full ... Idly And Red Chutney Is A Suuuper Combo And To End With Half Chitranna Will Definitely Make Sure We Miss Our Lunch 😋😋😋

Nice, soft thatte idli, tasty kempu chutney, and ambodE. One can't access this if one is taking the expressway, but worth the deviation to check this place out in bidadi ;)

Bidadi is a industrial town at Bangalore-Mysore route. Naturally, it fits as a breakfast spot for travelers leaving to Mysore from Bangalore. I however, planned a weekend trip to Bidadi just to experience the famous thatte idli. Tried Thatte idli with benne(butter) and vada- it was soft, tasty and very filling, chutney was bit on spicy side. Vada was crispy and soft on inside. This for sure will be the dish I recommend. Ordered plain dosa, was crisp and could be tried. lemon rice, Coffee was below mediocre and not recommended. Place is easy to find, parking was available and restaurant staff assisted finding a spot. Place was crowded, but they have many tables. You can find a place first for yourself and then order, payment is done post breakfast. Service is slow, but that's understandably due to crowd. Washroom/ toilets are available but fall short on cleaning. Pricing is reasonable. All in all, it's a good breakfast spot if you are traveling towards Mysore.

Authentic, Original place. Parking is spacious. Idli Vada with Butter is an amazing combination. Unique taste when you eat it with butter. It just melts in mouth ❤️ Tamarind Rice/Chithranna second opted dish here, i couldn't try because I didn't want to lose the taste of the previous dish 🤭 Coffee and tea are also good here. Coming to the price, it's affordable. 60rs for Idli- Vada - Butter Extra 5rs for additional Butter Tamarind Rice/Chithranna was also around 50-60 rs. Masala Dosa was also around 50-70 rs.

The original Thatte Idly place in Bidadi. They provide a unique groundnut chutney with the famous Thatte Idly. A must try, the soft idly with butter just melts in your mouth. The Vada is also very crispy and a must have. The seating is quite cramped and is usually very crowded on weekends.

This place serves original thatte idli. The idlis are good. It also serves dosa, coffee etc similar to other South Indian restaurants. The service is fast. The ambience is average. The sitting area is slightly cramped. This place can be crowded sometimes. So, you may need to wait during peak time.

While traveling back via Mysuru road to Bangalore, we had a pit stop at this small roadside shop. The people there were very warm and helpful, they allowed I, my husband and our pet dog inside the restaurant, which was quite surprising. The place was decently crowded and they served us the softest plain idli chutney along with crunchy vada which simply melted in the mouth and to drink it down we ordered a filter cofffee which came in the cutest little earthen cup. Two plated of tast healthy plain idli meal. All these in just 170 bucks!! Totally recommend.

Cosy hotel with one of the best tatte idli. The place is hygienic. Parking is bit tedious, but it's available. Better to go early morning if you wanna have peaceful breakfast

A porous and spongy form of idli, the Thatte Idli (literally translates to flat idli) is what makes people wait for their morning breakfast at Bidadi! Paired with the spicy coconut chutney and home churned butter, it was worth waiting half an hour to taste the soft and spongy fluffs! If you are traveling on the Bangalore -Mysore highway, this place is worth the stop!

A place that servers good thatte idli. The place is often over crowded in weekends. Apart from thatte idli one can get other breakfasts as well. Worth trying if you stop by Bidadi while traveling between Mysore and Bangalore.

The vada was too oily and okayish in taste, idli, chutney and butter - too notch taste. One plate was 60 bucks with two thatte idlis and vada and a spoon of butter. Don’t expect cleanliness and the washroom is just too bad. But otherwise it’s a place for quick stop. Service might be little slow on weekends due to extra rush.

Place is just beside the highway. Idli was quite soft and fluffy. It would feel like a proper meal. Price is also reasonable. Only thing that was problematic was the crunched space and cleanliness.

What a pity! People who throng to bidadi for thatte idly experience are being fooled with same standard procedure throughout the stretch. Once a legendary Renukamba hotel is now just like any other hotels nearby Idly - below par Chutney - such a floor show Serving - it's a pure road rage fights. These folks literally yell at you if you park near their vicinity if you are not entering their hotel. For folks who want to taste real authentic bidadi thatte idly, my humble request is there are plenty of street cart vendors in Bangalore itself who serve better than these greedy hotels. If you want the best one ever, try hotel ravichandran on tumkur road. Avoid all these money hungry hotels who care about money and not quality of food. Just fyi, there are two Renukamba hotel right next to each other both are bad, apparently they are brothers fighting for space

Bidadi Thatte idli is worth trying.Thatte idli was really soft. Masala dosa was more like homemade 😋. Vada was crispy and soft. Food quality👌😍 .Tea quantity is really lesser than what I expected. Quality of serving can be improved by replacing the plastic plates. Cleanliness of the place need to be improved, specially wash basin and walls.

Mine is mixture of opinion that the idli was soft and average for me, it was too sticky but with chutney it feels good for our palate & Vada is crunchy crispier. A good place for a quick bite

I would like to give golden rating to this place...never miss to try there thatte idli and Medu Vada..its worth traveling so far to try this softest idli

  • 5/5 mallesh g. 9 months ago on Google
Food was really good, Tatte idli was too smooth and it served with butter and also the Vada is also crispy and also the Maddur vada and challis was also good. Must try idli vada. In weekend it’s crowded and you need to wait for place. It’s must visit place
