We stayed in a family room. And to be honest, from previous experiences of 4⭐ hotels, this one is very much closer to a 3⭐ hotel. First impression is that the reception is amazing, the staff super friendly and that you're going to have an amazing air-conditioned experience (this was at the height of the 36-40degrees Celsius heatwave. Once we go to our room, we were extremely disappointed. NO air conditioner! A fan was made available, but I have never ever been in a hotel that didn't have air-conditioning! Second, our fridge had the previous guests' left overs 😨. The pull down bunk bed revealed grubby walls from sticky fingers 😨😨 Shower!!! I attached images because that glass divider between the shower and remainder of the bathroom was highly ineffective. Flooded bathroom every single time for four days. Breakfast, on the other hand, was heavenly with a lot of choices, including a waffle maker 🤩 but....super sticky grubby floor if you arrived after 9:30-10:00am after several messy eaters 😨 All in all, if you have young kids, you might appreciate it more than if you have older teenagers and you spend a lot of time in 4-5⭐ hotels. On the other hand, this stay was directly followed by Nordic Light in Stockholm that is the same group, but aimed at business travelers. That was definitely a higher end hotel and worth its 4⭐.

The floor I was on (3rd) looked like it was straight out of a 90's nightclub and not in a good way. The rooms were a little better but still very dated. It seemed from when I visited the gym that the second floor had been refurbished and actually looked ok. Definitely ask to be on the 2nd floor at check-in. The gym was basic but what was there was good. Breakfast was busy with several unoccupied but uncleared tables. The food was totally fine and the choice of food was good. The Scandic 2 blocks down the road is much better.

We had a really nice stay. In the basement they have a great pool and sauna which was fun for kids. Happily they are also dog friendly and he even got a welcome bag with some snacks in it. The breakfast was good, although a better selection of freshly baked bread would make it better. The two downsides are just a fairly dated feeling room and pretty expensive.

Good location close to the city centre. Room was not properly cleaned upon arrival but this was swiftly done once brought to management attention which was much appreciated. Beds were very comfortable and breakfast was good with the expected range of dishes. Loved the mushrooms but unfortunately no cottage cheese. Access to the pool is not included in every accommodation type but can be purchased separately.

The overall hotel room for a family was way too overpriced for what was provided. The family room consisted of one bunk bed and a double bed, whose quality was in full honesty not worth the price of 1890 kr per night. The swimming pool was additional charge as well, which was quite disappointing. 100 kr per person is way too much in additional to the already exorbitant room price. The breakfast was quite nice though, so I appreciated that quite a lot.

Maybe it's just OCD, but I'm never happy with cleaning when shower glass and armature is white from dirt...

The property itself is pretty worn out. Front office staff is brilliant, but restaurant staff is extremely difficult to catch.

A good place to be just next to everything in this town

Ok hotel, central location and friendly staff in the bar. C/I staff wasn't the best. When calling for a room last minute the staff told me that the hotel was fully booked. But from the app I could book a room still. At C/I the same lady blamed it on someone else, though pretty sure it was the same person. Never lie to a customer... 🤥

Great place to stay if in Gävle. The staff here is very helpful, at one point I got my room upgraded to A suite and a free dinner as I had left my wallet at home. They really do go the extra mile to make you feel at home. There is a small swimming pool and a gym if you are so inclined. Great bar with loads of Absinthe drinks

The hotel gets better as you got to know the staff better.

I really enjoyed our stay here. The room was very nice and spacious. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. The only thing that fell short is they keep their Sauna too cold. The pool was nice and I enjoyed my swim. In the room we had an electric kettle, mini fridge, hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, lotion. Friendly and helpful staff.

Great location and friendly staff.. Got early check-in since my room was already ready at 9.00am.
