Worth the walk up from Porto town. Staggering range of eateries and places to eat. It's quite modern so lacks old world charm but great value. We had rissoles from a rissole vendor and the seller went through the options. We did a meal deal with 4 rissoles prawn hake piglet and vegetable, a bowl of soup each, a beer and a glass of wine. €8.90 in total! Fantastic value. Loads more to see with local food delicacies.

Very modern deco interior food court, not market. It has many selections of foods and few retail shops. Seafood corner offered different methods of cooking for its dishes, good economical price...interesting and worth visiting!!

Beautiful mixed market that is relaxed and with plenty of seating. Bonus is a reasonable number of opportunities to charge your phone. They also don't rush you if you are seating so a good place to recharge the battery (phone/human) even if you don't buy anything

A really nicely renovated food hall. Located away from the tourist centre and in a local upmarket neighbourhood. This is a to go place for Porto residents to have a variety of restaurants and cuisines to choose from. Lovely relaxed vibe and a good choice for every palete.

Great spot with different options of food, drinks and deserts. On specific dates, there are some shows with live music at night, really pleasant experience. Just love being there.

Plenty of activity and a nice vibe! Great selection of food stalls - including several dedicated to vegetarians and vegans. Also nice spots to sit and have a sangria or cocktail.

We actually stumbled upon this place, thinking we were visiting fresh food market, as it is actually a posh, food court/hall, which was a pleasant surprise. The interior is stunning and very inviting, we loved just walking around taking it all in, it will be interesting to see if the other Mercado's are like this one. We decided to eat at Daterra as it was excellent value at 10.50 for lunch, the food was tasty, and the dishes numerous, being a buffet we had our fill. All in all a wonderful experience.

Great place to visit. Make sure you include it in your visit to Porto. The prices are very fair and the food is amazing. Many locals come here to enjoy a good meal and have a nice evening. Often with live music. I highly recommend this awesome food hall.

Get in touch with people, delicious food and drinks. From cocktails, beer, wine and smoothies they have almost everything. The had a make over of the place it looks so fancy. There's although a continente store. We spent a whole day there and can recommend especially the soup, the muns, the beerkingdom and the cocktails. We tried out almost everything but it would have been to much. Highly recommend that place.

Mercado Bom Sucesso: Gourmet Food court offering a variety of traditional Portuguese foods. We walked around all day and just loved the yummy convenience of this place. We returned 3x. Some of the food we tried: a fantastic roasted veggie sandwich @Munchies Wonderful gelato Grilled scallops in the shell from the seafood resto A porc sandwich (their 1 euro bag of chips were amazing) and you can get a nice glass of Prosecco to go with it. There is also a grocery store you can pick up some munchies or get some sardines to take home or have as a snack.

Great place to enjoy all different foods and products of Portugal. This is a place where you will find all locals who take their lunch during lunchtime. There is something for everyone. Like fish to meat to vegatarian. And its affordable too!

Cool place to stop by for local food options . I like how clean it is and it’s next to a supermarket I like. There is also a vegetarian buffet in this market for those who don’t eat meat. The buffet is like 10 euros as of May 2023.

Do not go there if you want a typical market ! you will only find modern food stands at a rather high price. this market seems rather reserved for people who work nearby to eat lunch.

Modern, under the roof, traditional Portuguese food market. The market was only open when we got there, so not many food stalls were ready to serve. But we got to try some empanadas with veal, chicken and spinach with ricotta. Also we tried some cinnamon cookies and pastel de nata. Highly recommend. If you plan to visit arrive after 12pm.

My new favourite you can try everything that’s good about Porto (except the beach) in one place. Head to Maldito and try some of their Port based cocktails then try all the food you can eat. Great stop of the same quality as Sen Miguel on Madrid.

Cool building and good food options with ample seating. Note for visitors to Porto. Other reviews and online sources suggest this is a must-see in Porto, and although it is nice, it is nothing very special. There are markets like this in many mid to large cities. I would not go out of your way to see this. If in the area, then it is a nice spot to stop.

What a treat! The place has a great variety of food, a grocery store, coffee, drinks. We had wonderful and very fresh seafood (octopus, oysters, and amazing grilled scallops), plus local dark beer. Highly recommended. It is easy to get here on Bus 403 from Ribeira - about 12 minutes.

Lovely and impecable place to eat or drink, great selection of restaurants, beautiful local food such us rissols, francesinha, soups, casseroles, forno, steakhouse, burgers and sweets: ice cream, pastéis de nata among other options in a very nice environment, wine shops with the best sellers in Porto; this place is next to a shopping center (Cidade do Porto) with a private parking easy to find the gate in front, right hand side of the facades (free on Sundays) with a 30m walk to this Mercado!

Researched this food market on YouTube. Upmarket food court with lots of choice. 0.5l of Super Bock in plastic beaker for 2.5€. Tacos for 3.5€. Reasonable walk from the centre but it is next to the bus station. On two levels. Lots of seating. Should be something to suit everyone from the many varied stalls. A craft beer bar as well. Even the ice cream stall sells beer. Not sure about the oysters at 1.90€ each. Paulicarus not a fan.

We loved this market like space for local cuisine and restaurants. There were lots of choices. As a vegetarian, I found a good selection of some good local Portuguese dishes. The prices range depending on where you go. Many dishes are below 10 euro. We ordered an empanada for 3.50, salmon set for 12, local fish set including a drink for 13, and sangria for 5. There was a local band playing, cool and great ambience. The only thing is you have to find your seats.

I was introduced by a website that it is a nice restaurant to have authentic Portugese food, I read the reviews on Google map which are quite positive so we came. We arrived at around 2pm which we needed to wait for the third table to get in. There is no problem for us to wait as long as we have good food. We had some expectations on it, but then the food were super salty that we couldn’t finish which is rare to happen. Also, we did try to finish all the food which take some time, one of the servers came to check on us for a few times which we felt like he wants the table back ASAP for the next customer. We do not recommend this restaurant for the food, value for money and service. The price is also quite high compared to other restaurants in town. We would say this is the worst meal we had in these 2 weeks trip in Spain and Portugal.

  • 5/5 Stefan B. 11 months ago on Google
Amazing place to find a big variety of food. Also some are very affordable getting high quality meat at a nice price. We also had a very good cake that seemed handmade and very delicious. People are kind as always. Btw the sandwich accompanied with the vegetable chips was 3.7 euros. Quite nice 👍of course it had to be accompanied by a stout.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Mercado Bom Sucesso in Porto, and I must say it was an absolute delight! This vibrant marketplace not only offers a wide array of culinary options but also exudes a lively atmosphere that captivates the senses. As a food lover, I was thrilled by the incredible variety of dining options available. From traditional Portuguese delicacies to international cuisines, Mercado Bom Sucesso truly has something for everyone. The sheer diversity of flavors and dishes left me spoilt for choice, and I couldn't resist indulging in a little bit of everything. What struck me the most about this place was its uncanny resemblance to the renowned Mercado San Miguel in Madrid. The lively ambiance, bustling crowd, and the contagious energy of the place reminded me of my experiences in the Spanish capital. It felt like I was transported back to Madrid while exploring the vibrant alleys of Mercado Bom Sucesso. The quality of the food and the attention to detail in each vendor's offerings were truly impressive. Whether I was craving tapas, fresh seafood, delectable pastries, or even a refreshing glass of wine, I found it all under one roof. The passion and expertise of the vendors were evident in every bite, making each culinary experience a memorable one. Apart from the delicious food, Mercado Bom Sucesso also boasts a fantastic blend of modern and traditional architecture. The sleek design and thoughtful layout create an inviting space to savor the flavors and immerse oneself in the vibrant atmosphere. It's a perfect spot to enjoy a leisurely meal, catch up with friends, or simply explore the diverse culinary landscape. In summary, Mercado Bom Sucesso is a culinary paradise that left me utterly impressed. Its incredible range of food options, reminiscent of the Mercado San Miguel in Madrid, makes it a must-visit for any food enthusiast. I can't wait to return and discover more culinary treasures in this charming market. Highly recommended!

If you're in Porto and you are hungry this is the place to go! Especially if you're in a group and can't decide on what to eat - Mercado Bom Sucesso has you covered. There's about 30 different Restaurants ranging from seafood over burger, tacos, bowls and plenty more. There's basically something for every taste + a stand that offers draft beer from all over the world. The architecture is also quite nice, with huge glass windows on both sides of the building letting plenty of sunlight in and making it a nice place to hang out for a while. There's also café with outside terraces if you wanna enjoy some more sunlight. If you go there, I recommend taking the metro to the Casa da Musica station and taking a short walk through the beautiful Praça de Mouzinho de Albuquerque park. It takes only 5-10 min and it's the way easier route, since when you come from the other side, you will have a considerable walk/climb up the hill to master before getting some delicious food. ;)

I have to say this is a food paradise!! The indoor food market is decorated like a department store, bright and spacious. Gathering different types of food stands, such as fresh seafood, bifana (pork chop buns), burgers, beer, port wine, cakes, coffee and salads, etc., and the prices are also fair. You'll definitely find something you like. Next to a local supermarket, you could also do the treasure hunt together.

A fun mercado (market) full of restaurants and food vendors with lots of seating in a light-filled space. An opportunity for a group to eat and drink at multiple spots and still spend time together. Our food and sangria from one of the vendors was a solid 4 stars. I think future visits would allow more sampling to find favorites.
