A nice little garden facing the harbour and the 3 Cities. Perfect for sunset and there are a lot of benches to sit and enjoy the view. Near the entrance of the garden has some restaurants/ kiosk to buy food and drinks. Easy for a hot day to hang out. I came here when the flowers blossom, so made it even more beautiful.

Definitely a beautiful view the Mediterranean from this outlook post. Even though it’s a little bit lower in altitude than the upper gardens, it has a unique perspective of the city. Particularly, the bell across with the sleeping solder statue (commemorating the departure of British Colonialists) and the open sea are much visible form here. The garden itself, in my opinion, is much more well kept than the upper one. Also, there were a lot less people here as well compared to up there. Worth a visit. Snap a few pics and learn a little history!

Nice little gardens, not very large or particularly beautiful in and of themselves, but has some brilliant views across the grand harbour and to the three cities. There are a couple of small kiosks and a cafe just outside for refreshments, but nothing more substantial than that. Lots of seating available looking out to the harbour, some in the sun and some shaded. Don't go too close to the edge if you're scared of heights - it's a long way down!

Deffinitly a hidden gem this spot. After a walk in the city centre, you should come to this place. Here you can find really beautiful view for the city and the Fort. This place is surrounded by beautiful trees and a fountain. Take your camera ready and drink and just sit in those branches and be ready to take truly nice pictures here.

The Gardens (upper/lower) are worth the visit. Take the ferry from Sliema to Valletta. Then up the streets to Hastings gardens. Take a short walk and you can see the Upper gardens. Then, it is possible to take the elevator to save time and walk to the left up a bit. You can see the Lower gardens easily. Right next to the gardens you have the Bell monument. There are numerous restaurants and coffee shops around. Nice lunch and good coffee available.

Very romantic and chill place in the heart of Valletta. Palms, blooming trees and an amazing view across the Grand Harbor and the Three Cities. There are benches to take a break from the heat and simply enjoy the view.

Beautifully view of the most beautiful harbour in the world, Valletta Grand Harbour! The gardens has breathtaking views and excellent spot to relax and take photos. The small Kip's at the entrance of the lower Barakka serve delicious food with reasonable prices.

Lovely area with stunning views into the Valletta harbour. Plenty of shade and seats there so it was nice to sit down for a while after walking in the intense heat for the day. There are also plenty of historical statues and monuments showcasing Malta's interesting past. Worth a visit when stopping into Valletta.

There are lots of lovely areas to explore, with hanging trees, balconies, and archways that make for great photo opportunities. Plus, the views of Valletta and the Three Cities are breathtaking. Very beautiful and tranquil gardens. Such a joy to visit, and took me by surprise how stunning they are. Lots of lovely areas around the gardens - handing trees, balconies and arch ways for photos, and great views looking back up Valletta and across at the Three Cities.

I’ll join the other reviews to insist that I much preferred it compared to the upper garden. Bathrooms weren’t kept as well but the views, the quiet, spending time there was lovely!

Beautiful smaller gardens than Upper Barrakka Gardens, but we'll worth a look. Perched overlooking the grand harbour it has a tranquil feel with lovely trees for a shady time out. There is a good cafe and a restaurant as you enter the gardens for refreshment.

It's a free entrance park where u can sit and relax the view of sea. To avoid the sun we just sat for while and relaxed. You will get a nice pictures with a beautiful background of fort and sea. In that park there is free public toilet. Overall nice relaxing place

Need a little break, just pass by this small public garden. The iconic Roman-style temple behind the fountain is quite beautiful. You also have an amazing view on the grand harbor and the three cities

  • 5/5 Jayne H. 1 year ago on Google
Gardens are beautiful with the plumbago and shrubs. Olive tree's around the edges with the fruit scattered all over the ground. The views look out to the entrance of the harbour which with the ships sailing through is a delight to watch.

Beautiful and peaceful. Nestled in the middle of the road. Great views from all the sides of the park It's just a small botanical garden but indeed well maintained. The cafe outside is a plus. Provides tea / coffee and a selection of things to eat. Definitely an addition if visiting Valletta ❤️

Lovely garden to stop by on a nice day. Great views of the water and harbors, plenty of greenery, and a small building reminiscent of a Roman temple in the center. Recommended to anyone that is exploring Valletta.

The view was stunning and could see more when compared to the upper barrakka. Went there on an extremely windy day and could barely stand. But it’s so cool watching the waves hit the rocks. I had a wonderful experience there.

Great experience and well worth paying the extra few euros for access to the lower part of the Barrakka Gardens. Included is the audio tour guide and a better up close amazing balcony view of the cities. The staff were very friendly and informative and explained a lot of the battery firing display and tour is funded by donations from the public so we were happy to make a small donation. We initially did the audio tour then came back for the afternoon battery firing as advised by the staff. The access to the lower part allowed us to get an up close view of the firing demonstration with the staff explaining the history and process. Very informative and well worth it. Highly recommended

A slightly different view of Valletta's Grand Harbour than that from the Upper Barracca Gardens. Slightly more intimate with lovely seating and a view of the Mediterranean Conference Centre and Fort St Elmo round the side plus the harbour entrance, Fort Ricasoli and Bighi on the other side.
