This place is literal trash. They do not listen or care about your concerns and just rush you out or prescribe the most basic care. Example: Back pain? Physical therapy, Knee pain? Physical therapy. Also their wait time is atrocious! I had an appointment just to get results at 11am, waited till 1pm to find out that the doctor just started working, then another 2 hours to finally speak to them just for them to say I was fine even though I'm clearly not! Absolute waste of time. ALSO! They waited 3 weeks from my first appointment to request my insurance for an MRI, NOT waiting for the approval but literally just sending the fax asking for one took 3 weeks! Why did it take 3 weeks to send a damn fax?

Waiting to be seen is absolutely insane. Too long. I had an xray previously done. I brought the copy with me. I was told I needed another one. The new xray was taken exactly the same way!! Go figure 🤔

Island Musculoskeletal Care, under Dr. Gus Kat, has provided a deeply unsatisfactory experience. My mother, suffering from severe knee pain, was referred by our family doctor. Initially, we were given an appointment three weeks in advance, only to be informed later that the physician scheduled to see her, Giovanni, did not work with Dr. Gus and there was no replacement available. After rescheduling, we faced another delay of two weeks. Then, just four days before the appointment, their office called to inform us that the doctor would not be available and we would need to reschedule once more, with the next available appointment being another two weeks away. This disregard for patient care is evident not only in their scheduling chaos but also in their management of in-office waiting times, which often exceed two hours. Overall, my experience with Island Musculoskeletal Care has been highly unprofessional and has left me doubting their ability to properly treat patients.

For any organization or facility, personnel in the front are the real faces in whole. By that logic this doctor’s office is the worst of all. Anyone and everyone behind those counters are the worst in their behavior and attitude. They think, they are smarter than anyone and everyone, even than the doctors. I think, these people are actually controlling all doctors in this office. Specially that thin lady (most likely she is the manager or something) with white apron is the ill mannered and unprofessional person. Unfortunately, I had to visit this facility for many times, and I never had a pleasant experience. PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE. You can find better place than this (even that place is bad, can’t beat Island Musculoskeletal Care for their bad customer service).

I chose this place because I was desperate to see someone for the pain I have been experiencing. I had gone to urgent care who had told me if the pain persisted to see an orthopedic doctor. It did and this place had appointments for the following business day, so I took it. As soon as I walked in I felt like I made a mistake but kept telling myself just to go through with the appointment so I could get an answer and treatment. The place is extremely run down and crowded, it has the feel of an ER waiting room. As people have mentioned in other comments - staff at check in and check out are unfriendly. I didn't find them rude just not friendly. Someone called me to the hall and asked me why I was there (no privacy). The PA gave me two scripts, one for an MRI and another for physical therapy. When I checked out I was asked if I wanted to do the MRI and PT there (hard pass). I. wanted to get out of there. They referred me to Lenox Hill Radiology. I called to make the appointment only to be told that the script was incomplete. I needed another one. I called Island Musculoskeletal SEVERAL times and after going through the phone tree just get a voicemail. With all the people working there it is frustrating not to have anyone answer the call or call back. I recommend if you have other options look at those. This should be your last resort. UPDATE: After TWO days of calling and leaving multiple voicemails, I decided to just go back in person. I explained the situation, and the unfriendly staff was unapologetic. The woman at the window wrote what was missing and just gave it back. No, I'm sorry for making you come back or filling it out incorrectly the first time. I persisted with the pain all week. My appointment was Monday, I called back Tuesday and Wednesday. The only time I could go into their office was Friday afternoon. This place provides the WORST medical care.

Doctor Gus Katsagorgis is the best orthopedic surgeon in Nassau county. He repaired my right knee and looking forward to my new hip replacement. I've had the best treatments from workerscomp with this Doctor the office manager Orna is also very sweet and helpful and makes everything for paper work go through to where they need to be. The staff at physical therapy is also very kind and it's always a pleasure coming into the office. Would strongly recommend this place to any who are looking for good orthopedics and physical therapy. update: I was seen today August 12 for my hip update Doctor Katsagorgis was concern of my condition and request my surgery. The manager also was concern Mrs Orna im so pleased with the help I'm receiving here. it feels like family here Thankgod !

Fantastic staffing with caring, kind, and respectful employees. I really appreciate everyone. If you come here with respect, you’ll get the same in return. That's life in general.

Had a 230pm appointment for test results. Left at 410pm without ever being seen or having spoken to a Dr and instead having to reschedule after waiting over an hour and a half. This raises huge red flags to me of potential insurance fraud practices. Very disappointing. Overbooking appointments is a form of insurance fraud. They do accept straight medicaid. Unfortunately it seems as though the quality of care is sacrificed. When rescheduling my appointment, the receptionist gave me an attitude when I asked for the next available appointment and was unable to answer the question and instead responded with "when would you like a new appointment". Next available appointment means next available appointment. And 230pm appointment means a 230pm appointment, nit waiting 1.5 hours and still not being seen.
