Cleanliness 5/5 Prices (room service and spa) 5/5 Hospitality 5/5 Food 5/5 Work out facilities 3/5 Lobby and dining area 5/5 Location 3/5 This Double Tree in Van is an excellent hotel. The staff were so kind and friendly. They took good care of us and were always looking for ways to “go the extra mile.” The spa and hamam were really clean. There are professional Balinese massage therapists that can do a variety of massages at really reasonable prices. The food here is also excellent. The breakfast is full of fresh fruit and vegetables, a wide variety of local cheeses and pastries. Can’t say much for the coffee but the tea is really good. We ordered room service a couple of times and not only were the prices reasonable but it was really good quality. Our favorite was the meat wrap. It comes with a nice salad and fries. The lobby and dining area are newly remodeled. They are modern and comfortable. The lobby has a coffee and tea station. There is free hot chocolate available all day. The work out facility was ok but not the best. A couple of the machines were broken and there wasn’t much space to move around if there was more than two people in the gym. The location is also not that great. It’s about 25 minutes by taxi and 45 via public transit from the city center. There’s also literally nothing within walking distance of the hotel in terms of dining or nice areas to take a walk. All that aside this is an excellent property and a great place to come and relax for a few days while you enjoy the beauty and culture that Van has to offer.

There is only a street between the hotel and the lake and there is a wonderful view from the hotel. We arrived late after 22:00 but experienced a very warm welcome. Switching to a non smoking room was possible immediately. The restaurant was still open and had a great variety of excellent food. Prices were very low. The room was clean and quiet. Nothing to complain.

Room is clean and air conditioner works properly. Room service is good but not perfect. I ordered teaspoon and knife but nobody brought me anything. At the first place there is only one teeth brush but we were three person. Hotel is near the main road, sometimes racing motocycles' noise disturbing. Rooms with a lake views are amazing specially at sunset. There is no mini bar, just free classic Nestle Nescafe and coffee mate and free small water bottle for each person. Refrigerator did not work properly, instead of cooling, it just gave off heat. Pool and spa is free but massage has a charge (we didn't use any of them).

One of the best Doubletree Hotels I ever stayed in my long travel life. Top notch hotel with magnificent views of Lake Van. Wonderful front desk and concierge staff. Meals and service standard at the restaurant exceed 90 % of the Doubletree s I stayed at home in US.

I normally never complain about hotels but this was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had in Turkey. Air conditioning did not work in the room. They sent a mechanic to fix it, but it still did not work. It was approximately 90F in the room and only on window opened about 2 inches wide, and the room was on the second floor right next to a huge wedding reception with loud pounding music all night long. It was literally a nightmare. After I complained they moved me into a new room the next morning but that room’s AC also did not work! I complained and said I would switch hotels if they could not find me a room with working AC and they did fix it…for one day. The next morning the AC was not working again. Hilton Hotels normally are known for their excellent quality and service, but not this one. Avoid if you can or at least verify your room has working AC before you pay.

Very nice hotel that is near by the local airport. It fits to any tourist who has the flight. In general, the hotel was very good, the check-in was fast and comfortable. The guy on the register desk gave us the warm cookies, thanks for that. If are talking about the room, ours was big and comfy, it had two comfortable double beds. But there were some unpleasant thing like dirty table in the lobby and absence of the towels. The last ones were brought a little bit later by hotel guys.

We stayed at the Van DoubleTree by Hilton hotel on the night of October 28, 2022. After entering the room, we realized that the ventilation in the room and throughout the hotel was not working. The interior of both the hotel and the room was stuffy and hot. We couldn't open the room window either because there was no mosquito net on the window. Since the hotel is by the lake, all kinds of flying insects could get in when you opened the window. I went down to the lobby and asked the lady on duty: Are you doing anything for the ventilation problem? Her answer was: There is nothing we can do. After this promise, I left the hotel and stayed at another hotel nearby. Moreover, Van DoubleTree by Hilton management did not pay me for it. There may be technical problems in hotels, but the service cannot be a problem. It shouldn't be.

I loved it. It was a nice hotel with kind stuff and the breakfast options were really good. I just didn’t like the cleaning service that much. Could’ve been better. But they respond anything I need

Just terrible. There was no air conditioning available because the whole hotel was setup for heater only because they decided to be like this. Worst nights and I was not able to get a fan from the hotel (something that another hotel did for me in Trabzon). It is unbelievable that a hotel of this quality does not allow a customer to decide for AC or no AC. I am very disappointed since I was expecting much more. There was not even a breakfast included on the room rate. On the positive side, staff are friendly and rooms are great, clean, and spacious. But without AC forget it.

I don't understand the bad comments about this hotel! At every issue, they found a solution ! We traveled from Istanbul by road and stayed in Samson, trabzon and now Van Lake; we selected the top 3 hotels in each spot but this is the first hotel that smells flowers, clean products at the reception, in the elevator, the corridor and the rooms! The online system couldn't confirm my booking due to internet problems while we are an hour drive close to the hotel. At the reception, this beautiful lady managed to keep the booking with special rates. We couldn't find the rooms we needed but she found middle solution. At the spa, all sessions were booked from 8pm. While we checked in at 7.05pm... the nice guy had been able to book 2 massage ladies for 7.30pm for 30min. We were greatful that he understood how tired we were and fixed our problem. Also, the food was exquisite for a 5* hotel. I highly recommend this hotel.

Stayerd here for two nights while atending a conference (also hosted in the hotel). The bedrooms are excellent. Great walk in shower, nice bathroom fittings. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet has a great selection of local dishes and international standards. Excellent mneeting rooms too.

This lake-facing hotel is on the main road and it does not just have beautiful service and rooms, but the food is also delicious here and the view of Lake Van is truly amazing. Our group of road trippers had absolute fun staying here.

We loved this hotel! Super clean, rooms are large, and the staff is the perfect mix of professional and friendly- we got to experience Turkish hospitality within a Hilton concept, and it was fantastic. A bonus is that the hotel restaurant is well priced, and the food was delicious. We had burgers, spaghetti, chicken fingers, grilled cheese (special order), fajitas and the soup of the day. We were all so impressed. The hotel is also very quiet. The location isn’t great, but we had a car so it didn’t bother us at all. And I honestly don’t know that there is such a thing as a perfect location in Van.

I was really excited about our (2 adults, 2 kids) stay here because the hotel was so cheap we were able to get the Presidential Suite for something like $130/night! It had a bedroom with a king, 1.5 bathrooms (including a large whirlpool tub), office, large living room/dining room open room, and a small kitchenette with a full fridge, sink, and stove top (though no plates or pots, so you'd have had to bring your own). We also got a twin bed for our 7 year old. We were excited to have plenty of space to spread out for the 3 nights we were there. However, while it was large and gave us space, there were enough negatives about it that we were more than ready to depart. The A/C was off (this was mid October). Rooms were 27C, or 80F. No fans and the windows had signs not to open due to mosquitoes. We ended up ignoring that and opening up the windows that we could. No mosquitoes, but there was no breeze and outside was a similar temperature, so it didn't help. We talked to the front desk to find out if the A/C was broken or turned off and they told us it was broken and they'd send a repair man right away. My husband waited in the room for 2 hours. After the first hour, we checked back in and they said someone was coming. After the 2nd hour, we checked in again and someone said, "Oh, the A/C is off in the building." The bed was also the most uncomfortable of all the 6 hotels we stayed in on our trip. Extremely hard. So hard, that I used sofa pillows to lay on top of the mattress and slept on them. The kitchen was also stinky, with foul aromas coming up through the piping. There were also unusual outlet situations. In the office, there was a desk with a floor lamp next to it. However, there was no outlet anywhere near the lamp, so it was unusable. We also struggled with room service. Our first night, we ordered room service for me and the kids and it took 40 minutes to arrive. The pizza was ok, though not great. The grilled vegetables and chocolate soufflé were delicious. Later that night, my husband ordered room service for himself and it never arrived. He called back down and they acted like they'd never heard of the order. It eventually came. On a positive note, the shower had great water pressure and the kids enjoyed the whirlpool tub--it even had lights that turned on and changed colors! The staff in the restaurant was very friendly. Breakfast was staff-served buffet, the only place of 6 on our trip that kept the buffet open (most switched to a plated mini Turkish breakfast with eggs made to order due to Covid).
