Seemingly every beer I tried to order was unavailable much to the embarrassment of the really lovely staff. Seriously there were more than 8 beers listed on the menu which were unavailable. Same story for the food. Many dishes unavailable. And then to the Risotto. £16.50 for this tiny and appalling looking plate of gruel? Lovely staff. Management demonstrating total incompetence.

Such a beautiful place. The staff are friendly, patient and full of welcoming conversations and smiles. The food was fresh and reasonable portion. Honestly, if you are looking for a beautiful, private and green scenery to catch up with friends or loved one, this is the place to go. You have visit it to believe it. 💯💝🤗👌

Rather spacious pub with deals to offer, unfortunately we didn't take advantage of any of the bottomless deals... Very quiet on a Sunday afternoon, seats out the front and a beer garden out the back. So, plenty of spaces to sit, despite booking a table, it wasn't necessary at all. Very POOR selection of ales, there were none available. Food - we decided to share an arancini ball as a starter as the chap promised us it was bigger than a fist but didn't bothered to tell us it was a childs fist. It was rather small but delicious and for a fiver, there should've been more. The chap again suggested 2 pizzas that were very popular, we didn't get either. I had an Italian sausage with wild broccoli and meh.... It wasn't awful, some burnt bits that stained my fingers but I think the biggest problem I had was when I picked up the first slice, the entire topping fell off and I was left with a slice of dough with nothing on it! It was rather bland and didn't have much flavour or seasoning unfortunately. Wife said her calzone wasn't the worst but was nowhere near the best either. It was huge and a big chunk of the sides were just dough and no fillings. I can't say I'd go back, probably look else where for ales and tastier food.

Very friendly team and a gorgeous pub with a lot going on! Defiently a regular stop off for us and 2 for one on double gin and tonics, there's isn't really any room to complain! Very happy with the draft and beer selection, can't wait to try the food next!

Excellent food, atmosphere and service, everything was great until it was time to pay. They add a 12.5% service charge onto the bill which is fine although most restaurants include this in the listed prices instead of adding it on top of the total. But then when paying by card, you are also prompted to add a tip. It needs to be made clear by the server that you have already tipped 12.5% via the added service charge and that anything you want to add is over and above the tip they've already added. Because this is unusual in the UK as most restaurants include the service already and don't prompt for extra, you're suddenly no longer sure what the tipping situation is and it feels so awkward to ask. Some clarity by the staff at the time of paying would have solved this. I would have loved to give this place 5 stars except that this lack of clarity and prompt for additional money when tipping was confusing as this is not standard in restaurants and pubs here. I would have loved to go back again and would have recommended this place otherwise so it's a shame about this.

Charming gastro pub! Delightful outdoor space, perfect for sunny days. Good food, but not something standout unfortunately. The added pool and darts add a fun touch to the experience. Was really quiet on a Tuesday.

Great pub and service. We went on a Sunday for a roast Dinner, unfortunately wasn't as nice as I rembered years ago - food wasn't hot enough and the roast potatoes were dry.

Hidden away on the outskirts of Camden, we have a hidden gem which goes by the name of The Colonel Fawcett.. This pub boasts both a front and back garden area, which you can choose from to be in the shade or sun.. The cocktails were prepared perfectly, all praise to the bartender 🙌🏼 Customer service was brilliant 👏🏼 5* Would recommend based on overall experience 👍🏼

Fantastic local boozer serving a huge selection of Gins. They also have a 241 offer on double G&Ts! Epic. We tried the margarita pizza which was very well made and rustic. Definitely recommend walking a little outside of Camden for Indie pubs like this! 🍺

Went for the gin tasting day and had the best time ever! And they do this once a year.. The food they had was amazing and fairly priced, the free Gin was tasty so you knew what to order at the bar later on. The dance floor was vibing and all in all a wonderful and convenient location 10/10

Fantastic pub with great staff, made our event so special! I hosted a large pub quiz fundraiser in the private room upstairs and the space was perfect. Joel and the team made it all so easy and the venue is perfect for getting a large group together for a party and celebrating. Would highly recommend!

You will not be disappointed!!!!! Must visit to complete your Camden visit and any pub crawl has failed without this hidden gem in your itinerary start hear and you will not be disappointed . Really you couldn’t get a better all rounder For atmosphere Really food and drink quality and prices, which is rare. The cocktails and pub started are reasonably priced and have a diverse range with a few classic finally A menu to appreciate Absolutely hits the mark. It’s a little off the beaten track which makes vibe a nice welcome with the same life and music camden is known for. This last part is just naught it one of the only place you will find a pool table darts and a piano. Hosting different events from time to time. Show you thanks to Freddy for a good night when leaving. The food was great hence the lack of it in some photos ☺️

We booked a private space downstairs for a multi generational event and it couldn’t have been more successful from our perspective. The staff at the Colonel Fawcett were lovely and accommodating. They provided high chairs, and crockery and cutlery for the cake we’d brought in, and helped us rearrange the furniture. I didn’t sample lots of their food but the chips we had were great and the drinks selection excellent. Lovely pub and slightly off the beaten track, definitely recommend.

Beautiful pub, great beers and friendly, knowledgeable, hard working staff. The roasts on Sunday are some of the best around - book if you want one though. One of those pubs where it's all done well and you can just relax.

I hired the function room for a birthday party. The pub and the function room are great: spacious, nicely decorated, well equipped, with a strong selection of drinks. The staff were very accommodating and provided excellent service on the night. Look forward to going back again!

WERDJS had the pleasure of DJING two weeks on the bounce at the Colonel Fawcett in the private function room. Both events were an absolute success. Two totally different types of parties but the Colonel Fawcett and above and beyond for them. They also made us the DJs feel at ease and were very welcoming and professional.

We hired the room upstairs for a birthday party and the whole experience was great from making the booking, planning it and the actual night itself. I totally recommend it and we were really pleased ! The staff are amazing !

We hosted our engagement party at the Colonel Fawcett and the staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of. Joel and the team made sure everything was set up and looking great for when our guests arrived. The food as always was brilliant. Thanks for such a special evening.

Fantastic pub. Really great staff, nice drinks and brilliant food. I had the flank steak which was superb. They have a great hidden away garden which is nice to lose a few hours in.

Very odd experience. Maybe the bartender was having a bad day but was quite rude. Ordered a pint of neck oil which I thought had been charged 6,60 pounds (already quite pricey) as that was the price shown on the card reader, however, somehow saw on my bank account that I was charged 7,26 pounds?!? Not only is this a very odd number which definitely was not showing on the card reader, but over 7 pounds for a pint??? Very disappointed as used to really like this pub.

A fine pub. £5.80 for an Amstel. Smelt like roast beef when we visited on a Tuesday evening.

Great pub run by great staff. They had a new pizza residency, which just takes this place to another level. Great gins on offer and solid craft beers on tap. Worth a visit.

We hosted our leaving party in the upstairs function room at The Colonel Fawcett before heading off travelling and it was the perfect venue. The staff were so helpful and we really enjoyed being able to play our own music. Highly recommend.

Went for a Sunday roast. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Orders were taken as soon and we were ready and food came quickly. The pork belly roast was well crisped on top and fell apart under my fork. The plate was piled with a tasty mix of roast potatoes, leeks with a light cheese sauce, carrots, kale, gravy and a Yorkshire pudding that was neither dry nor doughy. An excellent Sunday roast.

Best pub in Camden. Great friendly staff. Service couldn’t be friendlier or more accommodating. Menu is properly delicious with a brilliant selection of beers on tap. Perfect place for beers with mates, dates or big group events. Couldn’t recommend higher.

Wow - what else can I say? The Col Fawcett is the real deal!! We hosted an alumni meet-up last week and the event was a huge success and we owe this to the incredible team at the Colonel Fawcett! From the talented chefs in the back of house, to the cool, calm and smiley front of house team that managed a crowd of 70 20-something year olds who were reeling with excitement after not seeing each other in years - and all with warmth and grace. The venue was perfect: intimate, but not cramped, inviting but still full of old world charm, and the FOOD. My goodness can they make up some mean party platters! Can't wait to return when I'm not at work and can try some of their superb gins and tuck into some sharing platters amongst friends. Hat's off to the Colonel Fawcett!

We popped in here for a quick drink on the way to The Roundhouse. It was recommended in an ale guide. It was a lovely relaxing atmosphere and the staff were really nice.

We hired out The Upstairs Room at The Colonel Fawcett for a private work event, the team were super helpful and communicated really well beforehand and they even slightly adapted their menu to suit our tastes which was great! On the night itself we were really well looked after by the staff, the drinks were flowing and our team had loads of fun playing both pool and darts, the background music adds a nice vibe too. The buffet was delicious, all clearly labelled, tasted really fresh, and in no way was it "regular pub grub" and we had so many great comments from our guests about it too. It's a 5 star review from Southgrove, we won't hesitate to return and recommend - thanks guys, until the next time!
