The Phoenix on Smith street in Chelsea is above all comfortable. A very well turned out take on the traditional British pub. The beer was good and cold. Also, a couple of cask ales available for those that do. There is a small but well chosen menu if you are hungry, don't miss the specials on the blackboard. This is a really pleasant place to have a drink in the company of the friendly efficient staff.

FISH…AND…CHIPS! That’s what I wanted when I visited London. Like any tourist, my wife and I visited a few pubs in the area to imbibe on classic British cooking. The Phoenix serves in my opinion the best fish and chips in Chelsea. I’ve had some variation of fried cod and French Fries back home in the USA, but nobody does it better than the mother country. Two young fellows were running the bar and front of the house when we arrived and they were busy, but both very pleasant and attentive. The kitchen was out of several items, but we didn’t mind as we had an objective in mind. The Young’s London Original ale has a fruity aroma, amber color, and a slightly bitter finish. For fellow Americans, very similar to Yuengling. The atmosphere is vibrant and warm. I’ll be sure to try the Phoenix Pie next time. If you’re in the mood for excellent fish and chips or a nice pint then you should visit the Phoenix in Chelsea. Cheers!

🚇 Sloane Square 🍺 £6.70 Estrella ❤️ A handsome Chelsea Gastro. . The Phoenix is situated in the heart of Chelsea just off the Kings Road. Getting here is easy, Sloane Square tube is a pleasant ten minute walk. . There is a claim that this is the oldest pub in Chelsea, records show that this pub was built in the late eighteenth century. However, The Crosse Keys near Chelsea Embankment currently owns this title. . This pub has a beautiful tiled exterior and ornate balustrades running around the first floor which make this pub very easy on the eye. . The decor here is traditional with a contemporary edge. The walls are painted pastel colours with an eclectic mix of prints dotted around. The seating is a mix of traditional tables and chairs, banquettes and a cosy booth to relax in. The severy is located on the left hand side with the main dining area at the rear of the bar. . The beer selection was good, I opted for a pint of Estrella. My pint was decent and price point was to be expected. The food menu is elevated pub classics, Fish & Chips costs £18.50. This pub is popular on Sundays for its roast dinners, Roast Chicken with all the trimmings comes in at £19. . I visited with my Daughter around 3pm on a Sunday lunchtime, the pub was busy with the majority of punters here for a roast. There was a nice buzz around the pub and the vibe was upbeat. The service was good, we were served by a friendly member of staff who sorted our drinks in no time at all. After we got our drinks, we looked for somewhere to sit and noticed a few empty tables with knives and forks on. I’m not a fan of empty tables with cutlery on as I feel that it acts a deterrent for drinkers not to sit there. We ended up sitting at a low level table which did feel a bit like a waiting area. . @thephoenixsw3 is a cheerful pub which is popular with locals and those who are after a bite to eat. In my humble opinion I feel a few more provisions could be made for those here for the beer. Overall, It’s a well run pub with a nice environment, definitely worth a look if you’re in and around the Kings Road. . ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 05.03.23

Very friendly pub, was lovely to sit outside and enjoy a delicious Sunday Roast. Was on the expensive level for a pub but quality food and service.

I waited 15 minutes to get served; people who arrived at the bar after me were served before I was, despite my best efforts. I guess it's all about assertiveness. The clientele is very boisterous in an Eton College-manner. If that's your thing, fine. It it isn't, beware. It was deafeningly loud when I was there, too, with music and roars from young men mixing into a ghastly cacophony of noise. The wines I consumed were, however, tasty, and the decor and seating are both rather good, though the bar stalls are agonisingly uncomfortable. I didn't eat here, but I wouldn't be surprised if the food is good, as I imagine the customers would demand quality cuisine. Overall, 3-stars seems fair. I won't rush back.

Had a lovely Sunday roast at The Phoenix yesterday. Very cosy pub in the heart of Chelsea. Despite it being very busy the staff were friendly and food was very good. I ordered the veggie roast and a pudding, both delicious. Oh and so many lovely dogs allowed which was the icing on the cake! Plus great music, none of today’s Spotify rubbish

Very poor experience here last weekend, do not recommend. Our food took one hour and a half to arrive. Staff a little too relaxed and not really focused on their customers. When I asked the waitress if we could order, she chose to carry on laying the tables instead of coming to take our order. The manager was lovely but seemed inexperienced and not able to manage the kitchen. It's a shame as the pub is lovely, especially on sunny days.

Nice food. Good service. I don’t usually eat at pub, but that was a great surprise!

Lunch today very unsatisfactory-took 40 mins to deliver the food. Crab linguine obviously had been sat on the side totally stone cold. Very little evidence of crab. When sent back simply put in the microwave to heat up so was dry and inedible. The Waldorf salad had no Walnuts 2nd dish Sea Bass - potatoes hard and undercooked - fillet of sea bass tiny - jus like watery gravy. When you pay over £100 (including a couple of drinks) you are entitled to expect better. Staff not interested when we complained. Very disappointing as we have been here a couple of times before and food was excellent. What has gone wrong? Sadly one to avoid for now. -

One of the best pubs in Chelsea. It is one of the few that is very much still a locals pub and doesn't try to be too pretentious or fancy. Specific mention for the manager Milo is always attentive, helpful and polite.

Lunch yesterday was extremely poor. Tatiana seemed to be holding the show on her own & did the best she could whilst the man - I assume the manager - was utterly useless. When I arrived and waited to ask about my booking, he ignored me so I ended up having to ask Tatiana, who was manning the bar, about my reservation. A lot of items, the ones suitable for veggies, weren’t available (the veggie burger states on the menu the patty is made from cow 🙄, the beetroot tart wasn’t available, the roast butternut squash wasn’t available). The manager brought out our food, some of which was cold & had to be sent back. He cleared our plates but didn’t bother coming back to ask us if we wanted desert. We weren’t asked during the meal if everything was ok or we needed anything else or if we wanted more drinks. Overall the pub is very tired, it’s cold & the loos are pretty disgusting. If you’re considering eating here, I really wouldn’t waste your time or money. I’d stay well clear & I certainly won’t be back.

Went for a lunch. Very slow service. Food arrived at least 40 mins later than order. Food is not great either. Ordered rib-eye medium rare, arrived definitely not rib-eye and well done. Would not recommend, used to be better. And would like to add that after my review, I was told that I’m incorrect in everything. So just to say, we felt very sorry for the waiter that was alone for the full shift and had to apologise for the mistakes he’s coworkers were making with our drinks. There is no need to scold a member of staff when there is an option to write a review that will be seen by a manager. Out of 6 dishes the only one that was enjoyed was the fish&chips. This is not the first time the food is unsatisfactory at lunch shift for me in this pub. Now definitely will not return.

Incredible food; fresh and delicious with a great variety of options. The team are approachable, efficient and make dining a pleasant experience. Dog friendly, they even have dog treats by the front door and will bring your dog a bowl of water. When they get outdoor space heaters for the outside area then it'll be a flawless 5 stars...until then it's a solid 4 star.

You could never go wrong with a Sunday roast at The Phoenix! The food is absolutely delicious, definitely one of my favorite roasts in London. The manager James makes you feel welcome and you can always count on Julia´s exceptional service.

Oysters worth a try. Very fresh, flavorful and quite tasty. A bit on the salty side. Fish pie and pork belly were super decent & filling. Overall a 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟experience that I’d love to revisit again with friends! :) Loved the staffs too!

Superb food. Reservations required, I had the roast and my partner ordered Vegan option (aubergine). Food was excellent. Service was just OK, maybe they were just busy. We will be back for more.

I’ve loved this pub for years. The wine was very nice but the service was very surly and the food was lacklustre. We asked to be put on the Xmas menu but got refused. Oh and by the way who on earth serves cheese on a paper napkin?

Your standard British pub. Prices were good for being so central, nice location too just off the main road which helps in keeping things quiet if you wanna sit outside. Chips were good too which is always a key point. Didn't try any food. Beer selection was pretty average tho.

This is a gorgeous pub but the staff are so terribly rude. I was a little taken aback at how I was spoken to but then it just became embarrassing to watch and hear how others were being treated - eye rolling, the works. This really lets the place down as the pub itself is gorgeous, the location fabulous and food looked incred but we decided to leave after one drink.

Good service and friendly staff in a cozy pub. Roast isn't bad, but was definitely hoping for better. Pork belly was fairly dry, and the skinny fries were undercooked.

The Phoenix offers everything you'd expect from an excellent local pub. Great food, decent wine list, quiz night and an outside area which is a great place to soak up the sun...if you are lucky enough to find a table on a fine day. The staff are super friendly too! We often stop by after a visit to the Kings Road.

We came with some friends at about 6pm, had no issues with the service and thought it was a really nice pub. We left to go for a meal near by and thought we’d come back to enjoy another drink together. There were a few people at the bar and my partner and his friends were waiting to be served, but for no good reason the staff just did not serve them. They kept serving other people who walked up and ignoring our group with no explanation. We waited 10 mins and left to go elsewhere. Disappointing and unreasonable!

Delicious Sunday roast - we had the chicken and veggie roast which was an absolutely divine mushroom and spinach Wellington. All arrived at perfect temperature, all trimmings very nicely done (especially celery purée) and staff very friendly and efficient as always! Highly recommend

Used to be a lovely pub with very nice food and good service. Fish was not good today (and much smaller than usual). Service was really poor. Not sure what happened, but it is overpriced for what you get now. There are better places in Chelsea.

Wow! I don’t normally go to pubs but The Phoenix really sets the standards high - from the charming and welcoming staff to the delicious food! The ales tasted exactly how I’d hope they would and I truly recommend it to anyone who knows their ales. Don’t even get me started on atmosphere of The Phoenix!! It’s sophisticated but also relaxing. I will definitely be returning! Come down to The Phoenix for pints, chit chat and good people.

Used to be better. Service was slow and lack lustre, food was more basic than the menu or asking price suggests. Ambiance has gone. Beer tasted funny, but they replaced it which gives them one star extra

We had a very disappointing experience last night. We booked for 7.30pm but by 7 they had already run out of the best typical choices on menu. By 7.30 we could only order hamburgers which took ages to arrive & were not very good. The waitress did her best but service was slow. And it was expensive!! 3 starters, 5 hamburgers 10 glasses of ordinary wine £262 !! The pub was doing a vg Friday trade, selling 30 Fish & chips at one go but leaving nothing for anybody later. The kitchen must get its act together!

Great atmosphere. Came for a Sunday lunch with a group of five. Service was very slow and our roast lunch was cold. By the time it arrived we just wanted to finish up and get on with our day as most of the group were visiting London and had other things on their agenda during the afternoon. It looked lovely and would have tasted even better had it been warm.

Went for drinks and pub quiz this Sunday and it was the best pub quiz I have been to. Will the host is so energetic and entertaining, it really was an amazing night. I would highly recommend.
