I booked via Booking. com where I was allowed to pay for a non refundable booking. I was only half an hour away and went straight to the hostel. There I was told they didn't accept electronic photo ID.. They pointed to their website which, indeed, literally under the heading "Fine Print says no electronic ID. I pointed out that I had not been asked to check their Website before booking but they (falsely) insisted I had been. I asked for them to make an exception but they (falsely) claimed it was against the law. The law dues not exclude electronic ID. I asked for at least a 50% refund but they declined. Luckily I had the money to book elsewhere. When younger, I often might not have. I got the distinct impression that relying on their "fine print" often happens and that they like dissapointing travellers. A bit of power.. A power to cause upset... Nice people.... 😒

A super pub (and hostel) tucked away behind (NW) Euston Station. The Exmouth Arms appears to have little to do with the eponymous town in Devon. A great pub with the fruitiest beers on offer. Many keg and half a dozen cask to play with. The staff are wonderful and funny. This is a super place to visit, a bit rough round the edges, unpretentious and welcoming. Your mum would like it! She knows...

I cannot comment on the accommodation, but as far as a pub goes, it's worth a visit. Traditional pub interior with modern burger menu and wide range of drinks. Plenty of seating inside and outdoors, which can accommodate every from individuals popping in for a pint whilst waiting for a Euston train, through to larger groups.

Good location. Old place. Uncomfortable and unclean. Some employees were nice, others could improve manners. I have stayed in budgets hostels in London in much better condition. Would not go back.

Horrible! We spent 2 nights there and honestly, i would not recommend this hostel at all. It is definitely too expansive for what we had. It was supercold in the room, a lot of noise at night, impossible to sleep properly. At the check out time, the guy at the reception was pretty rude, didn't even said hello and good buy. Never go to this hostel.

From all the pub lives in London it’s the most expensive, and can be shabby, a few of the bathroom doors were broke , and a toilet without a seat, and two shower heads broken with the knobs off. When I informed the staff, one of the guys just laughed, as if he’s not surprised and didn’t do anything. For the few hundred dollars you spend for a week, to end up in a packed room with 6-8 blokes who are smelly, and don’t respect your belongings, I’d try elsewhere from Publove. The plus side is the bar has late hours and you’re walking distance from Camden, Euston square and the tube.

I can only give 2 stars for the location & the bartender working evenings. Otherwise the facilities are dirty & limited, the people working aren’t very friendly, and there are no shared areas/kitchen. There was 1 shower/toilet on our floor for 6 rooms of 8 people, there were men walking around almost naked, and my friend and I were the only 2 women in our room of 8. Do not go here as a woman. It’s the kind of place to just rent a bed for a quick 1 night stop, not meant to socialize as there’s no way to just hang out or chat with people besides the pub which isn’t logical.

****money stolen by staff on-top of a dreadful stay***** What ever you do!! Do not stay here!!! More of a halfway house than a hostel. It is disgusting how poorly the facilities are looked after with seamen on the floor of the showers; dust over the rooms; and bathrooms with faulty locks. Furthermore members of staff are untrustworthy at the best and criminals at worst. With 350 euros and 100usd being stolen from me by the staff throughout my stay. I was fortunate enough to have my stay refunded by the manager however the refund was much below the amount stolen. I warn everyone to steer clear of this joint.

Really well kept real ale and no short measures here despite being in central London location. So refreshing to see staff getting it right first time. Great choice of burgers cooked to order in sight of the bar. Like the setup here. My dirty hot burger was tasty but the blue cheese sauce fought with the chipotle sauce. A thin slice of blue cheese would have worked so much better but of course would cost a lot more.

I went here during the summer heat wave of 2022. And my god it was boiling in the rooms. So hot, there was only 1 fan, the window was no help at all at bringing in air, it was a dorm room of 9 people (bunk beds with 3 levels), and they let in 3 drunk people into my dorm room at 4am in the morning. And they were SO LOUD and the room got SO HOT. It was awful, honestly it felt like torture. And they drunk people were loud, and spilled beer on the floor, and they wanted to climb into people’s beds even where they were still sleeping there. I’ve been to so many hostels and this was hands down the worst experience I’ve ever had at one. It truly was a nightmare.

The room was full of dust, specially under the beds. The bathroom was dirty. The worst aspect was the unfriendly staff, particularly at night: me and my friend arrived at around midnight one time and were approached by a man who didn't identified himself and had no uniform asking us for our room number and we ignored him and went inside and he kept going after us without saying who he was... We eventually told him and apparently he was a staff member, like security... Completely unacceptable behaviour.

Absolutely disgusted by how rude the old overweight lady was behind the bar. I booked a room at the hostel last minute as I needed somewhere to stay tonight but the miserable lady rudely denied me entry for not having my passport even though I had my debit card I used to book and a clear photo scan of my passport. I didn’t have access to my passport, but she didn’t care at all and with no other place free I’m forced to sleep outside in the freezing cold. It’s like she felt no compassion that I might not have somewhere to sleep tonight. Absolutely disgusted with that Karen or whatever her name is. Why some people have to treat others with no respect is appalling. Ironically I thought this was a pub with love but i was shown anything but that. She looked happy to take my money and kick me to the curb literally. I would not recommend this establishment or their customer service.

This is my favourite of the London hostels. Staff is great. It’s a bit off the beaten track and it’s quiet for London but still close to anything worth going to. Highly recommended.

Pub wouldn’t serve us after 11:00pm because we weren’t staying at the attached hostel. Also, I did see a mouse running around behind the bar when I went to pay. Otherwise it was perfectly decent

Back in the day travellers would kip at an ale house in London. They could rent a bit of floor upstairs after spending a refreshing time with a beer and tupenny belly. The chain Pub Love is a great concept. The staff could do with better training and shouldn't use the space for choosing their favourites among the customers......as this attracts driftwood. Better by far than similar chains of its type and extremely well favoured by a loyal customer base that go simply for ale choice and Happy Hour. Glad to have made the acquaintance of this bar and will frequent when in the area. The lunchtime deal of Burger & Fries and the Chicken Salad are superb.

It’s close to two train stations, shopping, and food places which is great. However, the rooms are too hot and unsanitary. Co-ed bathrooms that are dirty, which made me feel uncomfortable. I would not recommend this place if you are staying for a longer period.

The Hostel is cheap so we didn’t expect much. The location is central and close to the tube station. The shower’s and bathrooms are dirty and we got mould in our room (room nr. 1). The doors creek and slam loud. We would not recommend to stay here if you don’t have to.

Avoid. Unfriendly and rude staff with an attitude. Filthy bed room with garbage left from previous people. Disgusting and stinky showers with doors that don't lock. Left alone untrained staff for the night shift. Fake advertising (non-existing food services at night). Overall a very dirty facility in every corner. This was the worst youth hostel experience I ever had.

Good range of beers and staff are knowledge able the beer and drinks. Good burgers that would be better if they provided a choice of bun and not a sweet brioch bun, which does not go with a burger. I would suggest sourdow roll .would be Fantastic, or cob roll. I would give 5 stars if brioch bun was replaced.

Dirty place and no one cleaned it, so we took another chair, and the black and bald waiter ordered us that we needed to put the chair back with a really bad attitude. Also, the black and bald waiter told us we needed to help them take the menus back to the table. Although the menus do not belong to our table. No one serves our food and we need to take it from the kitchen window by ourselves. The cocktails were super sour and not drinkable but the burger was fine.

Hot showers, warm bedrooms, & a pub w a great menu to chill in- esp. on St. Patrick's Day. Hostels aren't my style but I'm glad I tried one w clean bedrooms and bathrooms.

Some problem reservations ( booking). Form does not ask male or female . When you booking online system doesn't want your gender but receptions refuse you about missing knowledge as female - male. From Euston to Exmouth Arms path is closed also ...

It's a better spot to enjoy a drink than the station right next door if you're waiting for your train, but that's the extent of its appeal.

Staying in the Exmouth Arms was really special. The location is great, really near Euston Station, and really easy to walk to everywhere, to Covent Garden, Camden, Holborn, Picadilly and Oxford Circus, everywhere! The accommodation was great, comfortable bed, they cleaned the bedrooms everyday, I have no complaints other than minor maintenances needed, like doors and shower. I really recommend this place for staying in London and have only gratitude for the experience ❤️

Nice pub, great lineup of beers and the vegan burger was excellent. Breakfast could have been more inspiring than just croissants. As with any hostel stay, it’s hit and miss with who you share a room with. But the bed was comfortable. Lockers are provided (bring a padlock). As others have commented, not enough shower facilities for this many beds.

Big fan of this place… ideally placed next to Euston station and they have a pub love kitchen!! Burgers are always top notch… and last time I was there they had hash brown bites which are a great little alternative to fries!! I mean just look at this chicken burger… when is chicken smothered in buffalo sauce not gonna be incredible! Staff are always great and it’s always worth heading down to squeeze a pint in before getting the train!!

Little noisy with music playing downstairs well past the rooms "quiet time" but otherwise not a bad night. Rooms were warm, bed was comfy and clean. If I'd have known they had lockers I would have taken a padlock.

Popped in for lunch. Can't comment on the hotel, although it did seem busy with people checking in. The pub has got that shabby chic vibe. I got the £6.50 burger and chips lunchtime deal plus a black coffee for £2.70. The burger and chips were nice it didn't come on a plate, just wrapped with the chips in a paper chip holder. I thought £2.70 for a small coffee was a bit steep. The lunch time was popular with workers from the HS2 and nearby office staff taking advantage of the pubs location. If you are in the area and feeling the rumble, the lunchtime offer runs from midday till 4 o/c, but it's best to check before as this may change.

A bit difficult for visually impaired persons like me but.... Clean, comfortable, warm at a reasonable price. Excellent location for Euston or King's Cross.

I've not really been comfortable on the two occasions I've stayed here. Room very hot without real airflow. No chargers on some beds. Cheap though with free luggage storage and printing.

The room was clean and my stay was fine. One of the reasons I chose this was because they did breakfast. But they didn’t have any! I was disappointed but they offered a part refund.

We were looking for somewhere near to Euston Station to kill 2 hours before the train and stumbled upon this bar. Great selection of beer, ciders and spirits. The food was also fantastic. I the 'Ugly Nuggets' are a must buy with the hot sauce👌🏻 My mate had the 'Chesus Christ' burger and I've never seen a slab of cheese so huge on a burger and him keep that much cheese down 😂🧀 We will go back happily

Delicious burgers with tater tots. The menu is limited to burgers, fries, sides and a couple more bits bit it is done so well you couldn't ask for anything else! Lovely staff too and decent drinks on offer. £5 for a burger at lunch can't be bad, especially right by Euston. Try the Guac Chicken burger - add cheese! Divine.

A bit of a strange experience stay wise as I guess the very low prices can attract any kind of guests, but loved my time here thanks to some incredible encounters and Chris ! Adorable team member, helpful always laughing and efficient, the best 🌺

AMAZING stay, thanks to the team, especially sassy and josh, we were always welcomed so greatly and we were so sad and overwhelmed to leave so quickly ! The bar is comfortable, so chill and nice ! We were staying on a only-female room and that was nice ! People were so nice, we miss you already xx Elyse and Elise

possibly not the most glamorous place in London, but certainly one of the best burger and fries I had, and gladly surprised with the prices, unbelievable for this city.

  • 5/5 Anthony C. 1 year ago on Google
Great place close to Euston. £6.50 cheeseburger and fries. £3 for half pint and 6 for full. Lots of craft beers. They also hold luggage and have a youth hostel.

How this place gets bad reviews baffles me. It is exactly what you would expect, low key rooms above a pub. Yes things are broken, but the atmosphere of the whole place is great. Stay if you don't have a need for fancy amenities:)

WORST HOSTEL IVE EVER BEEN. The matress is so old and used that you can feel The base of The bed when you are on it. The beds are so noisy you hear every tiny movement the other person does. The lockers are small noisy cages. The are no plugs for the upper beds nor individual lights on the beds. The lighting on the room is very poor. Our room was FREZZING. The water pressure on the showers was terrible and you could barely regulate the temperature. There are no common areas (apart from the tables from the pub), no microwave as well. At night you get to hear all the noise coming from the pub until they are closed at late hours. The windows have wooden doors which don’t block the light at all so you get the sunlight right at your face in the morning. Before my last night, someone from the staff accidentally made my bed and my towel disappeared. Nobody knew where my new brand towel was. I would never go back and I don’t recommend it unless you want to have an awful experience.

Popped in for a drink ahead of our visit to a local Indian restaurant and it didn't disappoint. Great selection of beers including many alcohol free with Lucky Saint on tap. Friendly staff and given there was rugby on free chips at Half Time! How can you argue with that!!

Exmouth Arms PubLove is a brilliant pub with the best staff, all so friendly and funny! Burgers are brilliant and affordable. Lunch special is the highlight, beer, burger and fries for £10. UNHEARD of in Central London.

It wasn't bad and it wasn't good. To be more specific, one shower didn't work properly, the toilet didnt have a toilet seat. We were suprised by dummy drawers in the bathroom ( make real drawer please ). One guy at the reception was really nice but the other one...let's just say he wasn't polite. We had a noisy fan in the room which was blowing with cold air straight into our heads. If we turned it off, we would probably colapse from the heat there. Another thing apart from the conditions in the pub is our emails being ignored :)) It's sad that pubLOVE doesn't spread love as they say so.

I don't know about the accommodation but this is one of my favourite pubs, with a nice layout, good cross-section of folks, down to earth atmosphere and one of the best tasting burgers in town. Worth it for the burger alone.
