Possibly just taken my number 1 spot for a roast in Hampshire. The food we had was unbelievable at such an affordable price we thought the receipt was wrong! We had two rosé spritz, 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 sides and it came to £52. The chicken liver pâté and a squid for starters were brilliant. The pâté was great, there was loads of it and a generous amount of toast which is unlike most places and the squid was one of the best I’ve ever had and I love squid and eat it regularly. The roasts were just incredible, could go there every day and eat that. I had the trio of meats and the turkey was genuinely the nicest bit of turkey I’ve ever had. We got a stuffed Yorkshire pudding and pigs in blankets for sides and they were so tasty and well worth the very little amount of money they were charging for them. Will 100% be returning.

Visited here on a nostalgic whim, which proved some memories are best lift alone. To start with, we saw the "Please wait to be seated" so did just that. Not one of the several servers took any notice, so after a long wait, we bailed and went into the garden. It's a good garden, nice and big and tidy. Would be a pleasant place to dine but for the many glasses of beer& clingfilm left out to catch wasps. There must be a better method of pest control? Picked up and read the menu for a while, (and heard a server offer another group a menu) before deciding on a couple of choices, and headed indoors to check the specials board. Choices made, we were then told by a decidedly uninterested team member that "the kitchen is closed now" so no food would be available. On a Friday, at 2.45pm, when it's clearly stated on the menu that lunch items are served 12-4pm. Left and found a much better lunch option. The decor on the whole seemed clean but tired and very "corporate bland". The place had no soul, clearly it had been gutted by the chain that now run it and any sign of individuality removed in favour of identikit fixtures. Won't be returning.

Lovely place to visit. Very helpful staff and food is good. They do a very reasonable supper club menu after 4pm Mon to Thurs. And afterwards a pleasant stroll along the canal which runs along side of pub. Will definetly visit again soon. 😊

A beautiful spot by the water with a delicious menu. Some strange rules about only serving food to certain tables outside (for our visit, at least) but the staff were very accommodating to serve as many people as they could. Double Korean chicken was absolutely delicious, especially the fried tenders.

We just went in for a drink after a long walk. The place is clean, comfortable, and welcoming. If we had more time, we would have eaten there, the food other patrons were having looked lovely. Good choice of beer & food. Will definitely visit again & next time try out the victuals on offer.

Arrived last night with my family there were 6 of us. It was a sunny evening and we did not have a booking. The staff were so pleasant and did everything they could to accommodate us. They were fantastic and very attentive all night. The menu was great and all of our meals were delicious and cooked perfectly. Honestly we cannot fault one thing, I would recommend this Pub/restaurant over all others in Odiham and it has the best location ( next to the canal) and is the best value for money.

Great place. Nice ambience, sensible prices, good steak. There was a problem with no chicken available on Saturday evening; I'm sure other establishments are also going to run into the same supply problems. Good selection of ale and nice specials board. Well worth a visit.

*dog friendly* Food is quite good. However, Terrible service. Not a very busy evening and we waited over an hour for our mains. When questioned, they said "20 min from collecting your starter plates to the mains arriving, is 'on point'. I'd disagree as I've had faster service elsewhere. If you're in a rush, don't come here. Also, seems to be a lot of fruit flies in the restaurant. Not sure what that means.

We had a fantastic meal in this delightful pub yesterday with friends. Great atmosphere and prompt, friendly service. Very good value for money. After not being here for many years, we will definitely be back soon. Thank you.

Decent pub in a beautiful location. Plenty of outdoor seating (although food is only served to some of the outdoor tables). Perfect spot for a summer pint and cozy inside if its a bit cooler.

We had a reasonable meal here. It was doing very good business but served us promptly. The food was reasonably tasty rather than wonderful but it was certainly acceptable quality and reasonable value

Can't comment on food as we only had a drink but the garden hadn't been tided with empty glasses and full ashtrays on the tables that must have been there for a while by the amount. Very little atmosphere inside or out. Not what i was expecting having heard such good things about this pub..

It's a Chef & Brewer outlet, which I wouldn't normally choose. However, they serve food all afternoon, the location at the Water Witch is nice and my grandson loves the children's menu. Good value too.

Can’t really say this was good enough for the Xmas dinner - let alone a normal dinner- Wasn’t even a full plate. This was my plate before taking a bite. ( I had cut one of the bits of steak in half. But this is pretty much how it came out ) aunt Bessie frozen potatoes even ? Not sure. I understand it’s Xmas and the staff probably would have preferred to be at home with family. But paying over £70 a head wasn’t worth it.- not actually sure how this was served with a straight face 😅 Not only this plate. But my starter. Simple cheesy garlic bread was a half baked ciabatta roll that was stuck Under the grill. Top was toasted. But the bottom half wasn’t cooked. Even the dessert wasn’t great - I ate what I could because it was our only option for Xmas dinner at that point. I won’t even speak on the rest of the families. Luckily we had a good sense of humour. And laughed it offf. But never again.

Lovely setting for a drink after a walk along the Basingstoke Canal or for a meal. We met family there for lunch and ended up staying for over three hours. Food was great, service was excellent, and the setting was perfect. Didn't feel rushed at all and would highly recommend it.

The day was the Women's World Cup, and how lovely to be in a place which did not have a huge TV screen so that we could catch up with old friends without the potential for wails. Gentle service, nice food.

Can’t personally vouch for the food as we didn’t end up eating and left. We were shown to a table which was surrounded by tables that hadn’t been cleared from previous diners, while there was also food on the floor around our chairs. The pub was empty and kitchen staff were sitting around at the table, real shame as it used to be lovely but has been let down by the lack of management.

A group of eight of us enjoyed our Boxing day lunch with you earlier today. We all thoroughly enjoyed the food, the staff were welcoming and friendly. A big thank you for a wonderful experience... and no washing up !

We visited with friends yesterday, we all loved our food. The team looked after us fantasticly, we had two young babies and were made to feel very welcome. A great asset to the village.

Went here for Sunday diner on 20/11. First of all this is a nice pub restaurant that I have happily visited over the years. Food was good as always and only negative is that clearly the meal time is now very transactional. Served by a waitress who was efficient, friendly enough but please let me sit down before you ask for my drink and let me taste my food before you ask me if everything is ok. Lastly I didn’t order desert this time as some were not available.

We went to the Waterwitch for Sunday lunch and it was nice although the slow cooked belly pork was definitely over cooked. I've had better elsewhere. The ale that I chose was definitely on its way out. I guess it was nearing the end of the barrel although it was drinkable. On the plus side the rest of the meal was very nice and the service was excellent. I've dined here before and will again.

We visited the Waterwitch with my partner on a quiet Saturday late afternoon for a meal. The pub has a very nice atmosphere and cosy Christmas decor. Food was served quickly and was presented well. However, steak was requested to be medium rare but was definitely rare. We think that vine tomatoes would be nicer if grilled. My pie was rather empty inside and served with mix of under and over cooked garden peas. No table check. Generally there is definitely room for improvement.

Visited here for lunch as had intended on having a walk along the canal. Service on arrival was cold and unwelcoming - felt like I was hassle rather than a valued customer. Asked about eating outside, I was told I couldn’t because of wasps (despite seeing food being taken out for over an hour after I arrived). Rather than asking if I’d like to eat inside instead, I had to ask if that was an option, only to be treated like I’d asked the most unthinkable question ever. Member of staff reluctantly placed me in the corner of an empty section of the pub by the toilets (there were only a handful of guests inside the whole pub), with heat pumping out of a vent behind my head, where I sat forgotten about, with my pint, being ignored by all the staff who frequently walked past. Eventually managed to get one of the team to take my order, which I then waited over 40 mins for, only for the wrong item to arrive eventually. The wrong order was taken away where I then had to wait in excess of 25 mins for the right dish to be prepared. Even attempting to pay the bill was painful, and needed correction as the wrong meal had been charged for too. The food, when it eventually arrived, was tasty and hot (hence the 2 stars), but the service let my whole visit down massively. I don’t know when the pub was last decorated, but it’s currently shabby and tired looking. Being a frequent customer of my local Chef and Brewer pub, I’d wrongly assumed I’d get a similar experience at one of the other local pubs. I know the hospitality industry is struggling follow Covid, and pubs and restaurants need to be supported, but service being this bad is inexcusable. There were plenty of staff around, they just weren’t paying attention to guests. With this pub being in such a great location for the canal footpath, this place will always get plenty of visitors, but I certainly won’t be one of them again.

I was disappointed with my food, I ordered "Steak & Ale pie" but it should have been described as "Thick Pastry with One piece of Meat & some Brown Gravy". I have visited this and other Chef & Brewer restaurants many times in the past and always been happy with the food. On this occasion, the food was far below the quality I have come to expect at C&B restaurants.

The pub has a great atmosphere and the decor is great. The menu was very accommodating to veggie/vegan diets and there was a good selection of beers on tap. It's nicely tucked away from the main road too so it would be nice to sit outside.

Really good menu and very tasty foods. Staff are very helpful. Bit of humour trying to get toilet paper out of the holder! MIND the STEP entering the toilets. Has disabled toilet. Good parking facilities. Very nice outside dining facility (not open yet). Very nice country venue with rural atmosphere. Dogs are permitted inside - wonderful!

Hot tasty food, not expensive, nicely decorated and friendly Staff. Also, the yummiest hot chocolate. Would highly recommend (but you do need to book for a weekend meal).

Gone down hill I’m afraid Table for 4 4 x bad meals With current delivery issues I Can’t blame them for being short of certain things on the menu. However what we did get wasn’t good So called Atlantic cod and triple cooked chips was basically a pound of soggy batter surrounding something that resembled the contents of a fish finger Chips were more like McCain oven chips Scampi’s was strait out of Iceland Other meals were equally as unimpressive Service was rushed too Shame because it used to be good

We popped in for lunch around 2pm and the restaurant was still busy. We were told straight away that there was a wait of about half an hour for food to help the kitchen catch up. This was fine as we weren't in a rush it gave us time to relax over a glass of wine. The menu was lovely but sadly my first and second choices weren't available, (we were late, remember). The waiting staff were lovely and easy to forgive! If I'm honest, the steak I had as my third choice was quite tough but edible. Dessert was good. All in all, a reasonable experience. We will go again in due course.

Lovely pub and location, nicely tucked away. Only issue was that couldn't have lunch unless booking in advance. Had a lovely drink in the garden instead.
