Located just to the south of Covent Garden, I love this historic pub. And just a couple of doors away from one of my other favourites, ‘The Harp’; albeit they are completely different! The Marquis is well known for playing vinyl music and the staff are open to requests. The clientele this attracts, regulars and visitors alike, create a great atmosphere. This, together with good food and a great selection of drinks, make this a pub not to be missed.

Quirky pub, great food and service. We were in London and hungry so had a 2 course meal here with 2 alcoholic drinks and the bill was £50. Exceptional for London but more than that it was really nice pub grub, music was vinyl albums, and the servers were outstanding. I would thoroughly recommend this place for its friendliness, food and prices.

Great pub with really nice friendly staff. They have a great selection of beers and spirits and food is great here too. Love this pub and would definitely recommend paying it a visit. It has a great atmosphere. I really enjoyed listening to the music played on a record player and watching Little shop of horrors. We definitely plan another visit after lockdown. Managed to finally get back to this lovely pub today, great staff, great beer and great music. Will definitely try and get back again sooner this time

Found this place whilst milling around London and decided to drop in for a few drinks. What a great find!! Vinyl records which they take requests on, funky decor very British rock/mod feel to it with great energetic and enthusiastic staff who add to the great atmosphere there. Drinks prices were on par with our local which is not in London and food looked delicious that we saw floating around. Definitely visit here again!!

Overall, a nice bar restaurant with some pretty good food. I’d recommend the Loaded Fries to start and the Cornish Brie Burger. The Caesar Chicken Burger was disappointing and dry, as was Posh Fish Finger Bap, which was flavorless. The hostess was kind and made room for our party of 6. Service is pretty timely although a little inattentive.

Authentic Irish pub with great food and good beers (Guinness, Candem…). I really recommend Fish & Chips and the typical Irish sausages with smashed potatoes. Live music at some hours. Cool atmosphere.

This is my go to, favourite pub in central London. It’s always a great atmosphere and is fabulous for music. They have a record deck and loads of vinyl behind the bar. Great beer, friendly service and they will have the odd live band in there and recently Green day did a surprise gig in there. Upstairs you can get good traditional food. It’s not Michelin star but it’s very reasonably priced. A big shout out to Tabitha who served us in there who was great. In short you won’t go wrong paying this great pub a visit… even Charles Dickens used to drink here. 😎👍

Great pub in central London 🇬🇧 To grab a pint, good mood inside in general, can get quite crowded in the evenings and weekends.

A typical London pub that is visited by locals and tourists alike. It offers the typical London vibe and a good selection of beers. The prices are moderately expensive, but cheaper than the ones of the region. The customer service was very polite and welcoming. They host live music in the afternoon and night, which is definitely worth visiting!

I'm vegan, with a couple of food allergies, which makes travel, at times, a bit challenging, so finding most restaurants in the UK featuring vegan options is such a nice surprise. The Marquis is one such place. A delightful find after a quick search for "vegan restaurants near me" as I was in the neighborhood. Such a cute vibe, fabulous servers and fresh, really delicious food. If you're out and about and looking for a good place to take a break from your adventures, be sure to stop at The Marquis.

If you're into Rock, this pub is for you! It's a cool, no-nonsense pub with vinyl music and great beer! They also host live performances. Recently, Green Day dropped by, and the rest is history 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

What an amazing pub! Bar staff are well trained, and know what they're doing. They recommend beers based on personal taste, play music based on request, and end up jamming no matter what they play. Overall great atmosphere, decent prices, and brilliant staff! 10/10 would recommend to anyone who loves old school nights out. Special shout out to Jamie and Neil for being amazing throughout the night!!

Nicely air conditioned pub with decent beer. It has been about 5 years since I've had a good ploughmans lunch. We sat upstairs as the downstairs was full. Been in here before but never upstairs. Upstairs has its own bar.

Nice little pub with great music off vinyl playing. Friendly staff. Was a bit crowded when we arrived, but thinned out a bit quickly. The restaurant was closed, so come with a backup plan for dinner. Good beer and a friendly staff made us feel at home.

A pub stoked in history right next to Trafalgar Square. Far enough away that you don't feel in the thick of the action, but busy enough to feel like pubs have returned to normality. Live music was being played right next to the bar, so there was a jovial energy among the punters. Might be hard pressed to get a seat, but it feels right to be standing in a pub like this. A friend told me this was a watering hole of Charles Dickens, which the internet seems to confirm. So you can paint a picture of what life might have been like back then.

I visited the Covent Garden for the first time on November 9, 2023, during a special night. It's easy to say that after that night, this place has become my favourite pub ever. Every time I visit, I still get chills, and memories flow through my mind. Green Day played their most intimate gig ever here. I'm so glad I discovered you guys; your music selection is superb. I love that you still play music with a record player. And when the record player is not playing, you get the best bands to perform. The staff is super nice. I still haven't managed to get here for brunch, but my hopes are high as I see from the menu that you also have a plant based selection. Thank you for the great nights and the ones to come!

Nice little pub to visit if you're in the West End of London. Close to 'theatreland' & many of the London sights. Good atmosphere especially if you like music. There's memorabilia on the walls & if you're lucky the bar staff will put a record of your choice on the record player. Not many seats so does get quite busy. Prices above average but expect to pay more as its smack in the centre of London. Serves food however can't comment as we didnt eat Would recommend a visit 🍺😊

Needed something quick and nearby the National Museum but wanted a good atmosphere and not too touristy. This place was perfect for just that. Wouldn’t say the food is what you go here for but I didn’t try a lot so can’t really say. Preferred being downstairs (upstairs is where you can dine) w a cold beer and looking at all the pictures/decor while listening to good tunes on vinyls!

What a fantastic little gem of a place. Downstairs was buzzing at the time of our visit which was on a Saturday night. Ordered x2 single vodka & diet cokes, x1 vodka & tonic and x1 lager dash which came to a little under £24 .... not too bad for London really. We were all upstairs for Big Al's Birthday bash in a relatively smallish private function room. Tables, seats, music, people and a bar .... Do you really need anything else? The bar maid upstairs was amazing and sooo friendly (pictures as promised). Defo 5* and worth a visit!

I've visited Marquis the first time yesterday and it instantly became a reason for me to go to central London. Obviously very crowded but because the crowd is all like minded people it is a really fun atmosphere. A pub with great beer, great music, friendly staff and history. What more can you want? I'll try the food the next time which looked delicious.

Oh my gosh! This place is amazing! What a wonderful hidden gem, so much history and interest in this pub. Family ran so has a wonderful atmosphere with amazing staff. They play vinyl and you can request a song. Has a Mod/Ska/Soul theme but welcoming for all. Lovely selection of beers, ciders and other drinks. Staff so friendly and happy to chat. If you watched Mary Poppins you will have seen the bar in the movie and also the alley at the back of the pub was an influence for Harry Potters Diagon alley. I will 100% be back, it's a wonderful pub and no visit to London would be the same for me without a visit here! *Didn't have food but imagine it would be lush as everything else here is brilliant*
