The White Swan is a fantastic place to go for after work drinks. I always feel at home here and the atmosphere is always warm and inviting. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, which helps with ordering so much more!

I enjoyed a very good half naga chicken with chips accompanied with a high-quality craft beer for a little over a tenner. Quiet on my visit to this pub on a cool Tuesday night, unlike some of the other spoons near Holborn.

The White Swan, an offering from Mr JDW. A large, cavernous modern ?1970's building close to the station. Lovely helpful staff at the bar. Loads of space for the busy times. The interior could do with a bit of TLC, coat of paint etc. It's just looking well used and a bit tired. The welcoming smile and attentive service more than compensated. Not at all a bad place.

A very busy pub. Tried to order on the app managed most of it but would not accept the wine so had to go to the bar and order in the old fashioned way. Wife had 8oz Sirloin, should have been medium rare, but came more well done than rare. Curry was meaty and hot. Good service. I was a little embarrassed when I couldn’t get the lid off the wine, young lady waitress made me look feeble, opened it straight away. A fantastic repurposed building yet again with lots of historical information, very interesting. Was worth the 2 mile walk from Hackney

Very convenient location a stones throw from numerous bus routes and a tube station. Saturday lunchtime visit but food and drinks served extremely quickly (ordered on appl though pub was probably only half full. Atmosphere fine. Mains were great and freshly cooked etc but daughter complained her warm cookie dough sandwich was cold, (not cold enough to send back but too cold to finish off which she normally would!)

You should be aware that wetherspoon is not a fancy pub, but i actually think it's better than its reputation - you can order easily through the app, the service is fast and friendly, and the food good. And the prices of courses unbeatable. They even offer a decent amount of plantbased / vegan food options, really good.

Situated close the Highbury corner and set back, you'll find a large fronted JD Wetherspoons called The White Swan. Resembling something of a reclaimed cinema. It is, in my view, a beacon of honest food hope. Surrounded in the near vicinity with either artesian £££ or cardboard fast food restaurants. Although not as cheap as it used to be, the Swan offers food at a price without losing your shirt. Good breakfast and lunch. If you are working in the area, look no further else. You may end up paying £5 for a small sausage roll or £8+ for fast food that has no taste and leaves you hungry after 10 minutes.

Fantastic pub if you ever fancy a few beers in Islington and not have cash intravenously removed from your account. The curries aren't bad either.

Fully enjoyable traditional breakfast. Sausage was tasty and bacon cooked just right! Egg was a little under for me, but the cook/staff swiftly fixed it for me with no fuss. 5* for the customer service. I will be back 👍🤗

Good wetherspoon. Nice atmosphere. Lots of seats and friendly staff with quick service. Ale was well kept too. Interesting interior. If I'm in the area I'll be back here at least for a quick pint. One of the better quality Wetherspoon pubs for sure. Just wish they had a wider range of guest ales on, although at the time of night we visited, it is possible line cleaning and cask changes were in progress.

Mixed feeling about this pub. Sometimes it can get very crowded and the atmosphere is not great but when it is not full it is a great place to enjoy a pint. Staff are nice when they are not forced to run around. Would advise to avoid in the weekend, very good place to have a pint on weekdays.

Gina! I hope I got your name right, you are a team leader. Gina you are fabulous, you should work for MI5 with your observation skills. Thank you very much for finding my ring, I didn't even notice I've lost it, I would be crying for weeks. Your pub is great, too :)

It was an absolute disgrace to the weatherspoons chain. Out of five, the was only ever two members of staff at most front of house. We order stake, or should I say mistake. Mine had to be returned as although knowing what they are like I ordered a grade under what I wanted and it was stillburntto a crisp. My daughter's, who's 21st birthday it was had to be returned twice, as for the same reason. The state of the place was unbelievable, see photos, the glasses you see in the photos had been there all evening

Took forever (50 mins) for food to arrive. Don't order on the spoons app as you have to collect your own drink. Still it's a spoons so pretty good.

Cleaner, most appealing. Lights need to be a bit dimmer, you get a fare bit of glare. Otherwise nice. The barManager was a bit moody. Rest of the staff were farely cheerful and well meaning though. It's improved with the works been done. Not bad.

The White Swan Wetherspoons pub in Highbury is a great place to grab a drink or a bite to eat. The pub is spread across two floors, with the second floor being smaller than the first. The drinks are reasonably priced, and the quality is excellent. The food is also good, with a wide range of options to choose from. I would highly recommend the fish and chips and curry sauce, which was great!

One of my favourite spoons to go to with friends. Good vibes, lots of room, staff are always friendly and happy to help. Drinks are cheap with good offers on always.

Jason from the Bar staff, what a character ...made us all laugh and created a Jovial atmosphere during our office evening out today. Great Guy and so are the friendly and efficient staff behind the Bar. A small accident with the drinks serving to our table became a hilarious event ...and was promptly reordered and redelivered to our tables. Keep up the good work Jason and all the best in your new job.

Wow, rude bar staff. We ordered a couple of pints at the bar and thought one of the glasses could be filled to the top. Bar worker replied 'don't think so but put a splash more in, slamming the glass down and spilling a bit. Later we ordered food at the bar and more drinks. Drinks didn't come so I went back to the bar only to be told 'the drinks were poured when you were here and you didn't take them' (lie)very grumpily again. Why would I spend any more money in here? You get what you pay for I suppose. The food serving staff were very friendly though, even enquired after out drinks for us and said 'they're coming'. They weren't.

1 person serving at the bar while 3 staff were chatting laughing and joking behind the counter. When I asked if I can be served they pulled a face at me and one of the staff (lady looked to be Indian/Asian ethnicity) turned to me and said you can always go somewhere else if you’re not happy and proceeded to them ignore me and serve new customers that came up to the bar. Wow oh Wow some people should not be in hospitality, or maybe I shouldn’t have any expectations as I was in a Wetherspoons

Very busy wetherspoons very close to Highbury and Islington tube station. Prices are cheap but wine was served in wet wine glasses.

They do free (bottomless) coffee with your meal. I ordered a double burger and when it came it was dry and tasted frozen even worse than the McDonald burger. It came with no tomatoes or salad or relish. Just plain dry two slices of burgers on a dry bun for a price of £7.00. I called the server's and told her the issues as above. She replied "I did not cook it. I just serve." I was not pleased. I had the coffee. I did not raise it to the bar because they were busy.

Had a very good Large Mixed Grill in here today. Staff generally friendly when I pop in. Big group of lads making loads of noise.. if I was in there with the Mrs I'd have had the hump but was with two mates so put up with it. Staff should've told them to quiten down. This review is mainly for the food I had ehich was great. Compliments to the chef. Probably one of the best meals I have ever had in a Spoons. Top job.

Food was fine just your regular spoons . Don’t understand the stupidity of having an outdoor seating area where you can’t smoke. Security are so rude. Got asked for ID twice by them as if I was ordering a pint. Bloody ridiculous pattern up

The young staff need more training.....bought a dbl glenfiddich 15 and was charged £5.75, bought another and got charged over £7. 00....when i questioned the youngster i was told "oh this is price for the 15 and i was charged for the 12 before"....not my problem! You lot need to learn how to pour the correct priced drinks.

Disgusting. The worst eggs benedict I've ever had. The cold, smelly ham is an unappetising shade of white, with a brown stain from a dirty pan or grill that was used to briefly heat it up. The poached eggs were cold and solid inside. The hollandaise sauce was also cold, with an off taste and weird smell. Cold muffin. Rocket (which no one eats) was fresh looking. Should I complain and get a refund? There's no way I'm having the 'chef' serve a replacement - I fear for my health. As for the pub itself, the tables are sticky from last night, and the grotty seats need replacing.

Steak was poor quality. Very chewy, first time I have ever left steak on a plate. next week fish was very runny... Wetherspoon's have an excellent format... Good prices but inexperienced non caring staff and poor cooking let it down. I will not be going back.

Very cool on what was a boiling hot day. Nice environment. Staff were nice but I felt the bar was understaffed so it took a while to get served.

Came in for a quick bite and a drink on the way to meet my cousin, this place is quite big with an upstairs eating area but it was super hot in there!! Simple food, decent range of drinks and it's cheap!!

I visited the pub with my wife and two daughters for a meal during Saturday lunchtime. We sat in the back dining area near where the disabled toilet is situated. Somebody sitting on the adjacent table advised me to move tables if we wanted a quiet meal as the disabled toilets were used regularly by local drinkers who used it to sniff cocaine. They all shared a special key to access it. He was right. I couldn't believe the amount of dodgy looking men who ventured into the disabled toilet. First up was a black man wearing sunglasses inside a pub and was clutching a back pack. He couldn't be more obvious if he tried. He checked around the area to see if anybody was watching before entering. He was in there at least fifteen minutes before his friend followed him. Chav central indeed.

Anna was absolutely amazing. Always at the table when we needed her and served the drinks fantastically. Perfect pints and an amazing Guinness. Couldn't recommend this place any more and her service made it even better.

Light and airy. The staff were all polite. The food was cooked well and the waitress, despite being rushed off her feet was attentive and helpful.

Basic north London boozer with all the Wetherspoons hallmarks. Cheap ale, but not particularly well-kept or fresh. Food all day. And all human life is there, from babies to pensioners.

Great pub, Good atmosphere, But the service is poor and they keep on running out of beer. They ran out of 6 draft beers last night. 6 out of 10 for me.😁👍

  • 3/5 SumWelshLadInLondon 2 years ago on Google
It's okay. It was very quiet when I went. There's an upstairs area too with extra seating. The layout is very open, which is okay, but it's missing atmosphere. The lights were very bright, which is okay, but it didn't feel right. While I have nothing against the pub itself, I probably will not be visiting again.

Food and drinks were ok as per usual Wetherspoons standard but pub was full of filthy tables, only the manager/shift leader was in uniform. All others were in own clothes, one was in a tracksuit with crocs and another had blue jeans and air force max' on, with earphones in!!! Really unprofessional looking

  • 3/5 Mark P. 2 years ago on Google
Rather characterless, utilitarian modern hall. Not all the beers available on tap but the one I had (2 of) was very good. Lots of the burger options were also unavailable but black pudding, onion ring & egg were nicely done. Black pudding especially good. It wasn't busy, either, which was a plus.
