We order a veggie burrito but it was a bit plain of flavour just sweet potato and rice. They have stopped offering sauce and now the charge for the sauce what I find quite ridiculous. Anyway I ordered some sauce but it never arrived and we were charged for it. I used to like a lot Wahaca but not anymore, things like charging now for sauce I think it is quite bad, specially when the food is plain. Our waiter though was nice and location is good but this os not enough specially compared to how the food was in the past ( and way cheaper)

Extraordinary night for a team dinner! The set menus are perfect to share and we were given a private room (our own container box!) The staff were very efficient and warm and they let us stay longer than we thought. Here are samples of the many dishes that were served to us. The churros for desert disappeared to quickly to have time for a picture! Special mention for the guacamole and chips as starter, so fresh and perfect! Definitely recommend booking with a party. Th only thing is to come with enough layers in the winter as the heating lamp do not spread heat very evenly and the container is not insulated. The rest of the restaurant seemed much warmer.

Went there in the afternoon and had tacos. The place was so nice, not crowded and our waiter was amazing. Totally enjoyed our tacos and decided to return in the evening for a meal as we loved our time in the afternoon. Would give it a 5 star rating based on our experience in the afternoon. The evening was a nightmare. The waiter we got was sooooo rude. You'd try to talk to her, she'd cut you short and talk over you. Placing an order with her was a nightmare. She was just so rude. The meal that came was soooo cold. Like really cold. From the fridge cold. Asked if it would be possible to have it warmed in the microwave, to which our rude waiter took the food away so madly and brought it back still cold and said there's nothing more she can do about it. We didn't want to create a fuss, so we just tried to eat our cold food. The presentation of the food was good. Both in the afternoon and at night. I would recommend that one goes there in the afternoon as you are likely to get a better service then than at night. The place is really crowded in the evenings. We had to wait 30mins to get a table and a rude waiter. Was seated at a place where I could see the food being prepared and I could see them taking the meals from the fridge and hardly warming them, only to serve them on the plate, so I understood why my meal was cold. They were in a rush to put the orders out. I'd rather my meals take longer to come to the table and is hot, than have a cold meal. My evening experience totally spoiled what I felt was an amazing place when I earlier visited in the afternoon. Wanted to give it a one star, but because I enjoyed myself in the afternoon, I added one more star.

First time to a Wahaca, and I was very impressed. Service was really quick and the staff were really friendly. You order in person and then pay online. There's a great choice on the menu, including lots of vegetarian options. Food came really quickly and was well cooked and very tasty! Good value for money considering the location.

Great view of the river and good vibe! But you can’t book this place. Be prepared to queue up, but you’ll get a table pretty soon than the time they mentioned. Food is great. Great value for money. good place in South Bank for the summer!

Mexican food with river view. The restaurant is located up a set of stairs and is on 2 floors, with many seats. The staff was very friendly and nice, though they really want you to get some extra food/drinks. Food was ok, the only issue was that i think my burrito was premade and it was half cold and half hot, should have been warmed up a bit better. You can get an NHS discount and payment is only by card using a QR code

Super colourful atmosphere, great location and views, fun vibes! They are pretty serious about alternative diets and allergies with abundant vegan and gluten-free options. Food and drink were all very delicious and the staff was attentive, especially the manager’s response and handling of the situation after realising their mistake on our menu was exceptional. Big thumbs up, would defo go there again!

Rainbow bowl was great. A pretty quick and tasty lunch. Not too crowded. Friendly staff. Clean look, built with shipping containers right over the south bank skate spot. They also have a good truck on the ground floor outside. They accept reservations, just make sure you go to the right one as there's another one not too far down the street.

The food was mediocre. The Veggie Nachos were probably the best thing that we ordered but the Quesadilla was just sad. The service was good and very attentive to someone in our group with a severe fish allergy. Additionally, the ambiance is beautiful, overlooking the Thames, and relaxing.

Unusual and inventive Mexican cuisine. Recommend the set menus in order to try the widest variety of dishes. Everything super tasty, even ended up with some extra food and drink on-the-house. Quirky location in converted shipping containers. Great experience.

Visited Wahaca Southbank for a friends birthday. The team were really attentive especially as we had someone in the group with an allergy, they took extreme care with their food. Great tacos, burritos, nachos and cocktails. Only issue was some of the food came out a bit cold, other than that we enjoyed our visit

We visited after leaving a show mid way through. We were lucky as they had a couple of seats free, so we had no wait. It was buzzing with groups enjoying Christmas meals, friends catching up and people on dates. We opted to have the Christmas veggie feast between us to sample a bit of everything. It was £25,00 per person. Food came relatively quickly and what we had was delicious but the food portions are small when sharing. We had to fight over the Guacamole and some of the dishes we had. Still have no idea why the Guacamole was festive, it looked and tasted like any other we have tried. Maybe the pomegranate was the festive bit who knows. It really didn’t last long despite drinks and waits in between dishes. Serving staff were quick and friendly.

Nice environment next to Thames river. Good quality is fine. Staff are friendly. But the picnic table outside is wobbly. I have sea sick problem, not suitable for me.

We were 5 of us without a reservation. Seemed to be a very busy place but had a nice relaxed feel to it. We waited 10 mins and were shown to a nice table. All of us being vegetarians were excited with Wahaca as they have a really good veg selection. We ordered small plates, large plates, salads, sides, fresh juice. The food was outstanding, service very efficient and the experience was very good. Highly recommend this restaurant

Absolutely delicious food. 😋 we had the Favourites sharing menu and every single item was superb. Very good food, very friendly and helpful staff, very cool atmosphere and very good cocktails. 👍

Food was very tasty and everything seemed to be available. Steak and cheese tacos and fish tacos were a highlight. Very small portion of guacamole with the tortilla chips. Margarita was good, but the strawberry daiquiri was sub-par, especially for the price. However, service was all over the place. Reservations weren’t taken into account, tables were given randomly which caused extreme waiting times for some.

Used to love Wahaca in Waterloo, should have gone there rather than South Bank. Everything is fresh but not worth the price point plus 12.5% service charge. Was there for less than 1 hour and paid £100 for 3 people. Portions were small especially the tacos and I was not satisfied at the end of the meal. Even with dessert. Can't even say anything about the atmosphere as we were in a shopping container, chairs were uncomfortable. They gave us free guacamole but it was with 3 tortillas, a bit stingy. The slaw had no dressing, the textures were nice but no flavour, had to put guacamole on it to make it edible. Fish tacos were fresh but watery. The grilled chicken enchiladas costed £8 for that measly portion. Same price for the churros. I would have given a higher score if the atmosphere and experience was better but for that price point best go elsewhere. I guess central London, we couldn't see any Riverside as the window was covered with some mesh like substance on the shipping container. I was now blown away by the food. It was just standard at overpriced prices. We ordered NO alcohol. Mexican street food should be humble not some expensive treat. Truly missed the mark. Not sure why so many 5 star reviews. I would not visit again.

Queue was total chaos, with walk in and booked mixed up in the long queue, which was frustrating as we had booked well in advance. Once seated, it was actually a good service with dishes served fresh and promptly along with drinks. Recommend the buttermilk chicken tacos, special seasonal potatoes dish, salad and mocktails!

The LED light strip on Waterloo Bridge points you straight to the jazzy pile of refurbed shipping containers that is the warm and informal Wahaca Southbank. Delightful evening panoramic views across the Thames up to Westminster. Lovely staff who forgave me my messed up online booking (thank you so much) and made room for our party. Very memorable classic Margaritas, superb Beef Quesadilla, Bean Frijoles and slightly show stopping Churros for desert.

Really nice food. We had one of the taster options which gave a good spread of choice. The new chorizo quesadillas, buttermilk chicken tacos, and corn bread were our favourite pics, absolutely stellar.

Yeah it's a chain but this shipping container version right on the southbank is great. Food was fab and the margaritas really hot the spot.

Delicious food, good cocktails and a fun vibe. Service was really good. We had the Classics Sharing Board with their new cornbread side. All of the food was great but our particular favourite was the Pork Pibil Tacos... Juicy and flavorful!

Always a place you trust to get tasty food and nice cocktails. Easy and relaxed atmosphere, great for sharing lots of different dishes. The set meals for 2 offer great value and will fill the table with delicious food and leave you very satisfied. Service was very friendly and relaxed.

They put great attention to every detail, make it super easy to make reservations and to queue virtually if you just pop in without any reservation, plus are very kind if you visit them with children. They gave us a lot of "Día de los muertos" themed activities to do with our son. We had sweet potato bravas, enchiladas and tacos and for drinks orchata and Hibiscus. Definitely a place to visit. We will come back again!

Got seated super quickly even though the restaurant seemed busy. Had the favourites set menu and it was lots of food and the dessert was tasty too. The service was quick and friendly.

I don't dine at chains restaurants that often but I do like Wahaca, especially the Southbank branch because it is in a series of shipping containers and has great views of the River Thames. The food is always super tasty with inventive ingredients and great flavours. We order vegan and veggie options and they have a great choice so we always find something delicious to eat. I always save room for the churros and chocolate dip!

Nice and Cozy restaurant. We went for trying some local Mexican cuisine. We ordered beer with Mexican touch(must try if you love salt and lemon kick) croquettes, tacos and pecan brownies for dessert. Tacos were ok but the dessert was mind blowing. The restaurant was warm with local music. Should try once!

Southbank itself has so much vibes. We really like Mexican food. I really liked the dip specifically. Overall taste is amazing and not that spicy at all. Taste of food is really amazing. If you’re visiting on weekends than you might need to wait for sometime. Staff is really amazing and so helpful. As per experience everyone can speak Spanish as well.

I wasn't very impressed by food or service. I think I could only enjoy only my nachos from my whole order. Quesadillas were too salty and tacos were weirdly spongy for mushroom filling. Myself and my friends sat down next to doors which were open. Sitting in my jacket while eating mostly finger food was not the most comfortable. We were also served by a man who either had a bad day or was extremely anxious. I can understand a lot as I am nervous person myself but our server was overbearing and not communicating key things to us like we had only 1.5 hours to eat cause they had a lot people waiting to eat in. I don't think I will come back to this particular branch.

As part of a chain you know what to expect from the interior of a wahaca. The food as always is tasty and quite authentic. The drinks are possibly a little on the dear side but very moreish

Service was not great, but thankfully they have a QR code so you can pay and leave when done (and not wait for the server). Love the mocktails-the non alcholic margarita was nice. The pork pobil bowl was good, I would come back for it. The trio of salsas was okay, probably wouldn't order again.

Lovely choice of Mexican food, small and large sized portions. Tasty cocktails. Great atmosphere - the restaurant is TU-constructed, as in made up of empty cargo containers. Sabi our waiter was super helpful and very thorough on allergies.

Clean and tidy place. It was really crowded when I visited. We sat outside. Staff very friendly and fast. The cocktails are absolutely to die for. And so is the food. The portions are more on the small side so if you are really hungry you might have to order 2 or 3 different dishes. But I can tell you that the food is absolutely amazing. Fresh, well balanced when it comes to spices. Very flavourful meat. So yeah if I go and visit London again I will definitely go back there.

Great experience at this place. We were a large group, with picky eaters, people with gluten intolerance, indecisive teenagers and the waiters managed to get the order right, give suggestions and were quick and efficient. We were especially impressed with the Spanish waiter, such good energy! The food was good and there were plenty of options. The churros for dessert was especially good, and I tried the waiter's suggestion and had them with dulce de leche and it was better than with the chocolate. All very good
