The Princess of Shoreditch on the corner of Willow Street in Shoreditch is a most delightful pub and eatery. The staff are exceptional, friendly and just fantastic. A single cask ale on (Goose) and six keg beers available. A wonderful spiral staircase leads to a dining room. Cast iron pillars set the architectural tone. This is a super street corner pub. A lovely place to visit!

Unfortunately this pub is trying hard and failing to punch above their weight. We came during their promotional 50% off food and still left feeling like we paid too much. The food was frankly forgettable, as I strained to remember the origin of these photos in my phone gallery. Marks given for presentation; it certainly strikes you as gastro dining, but the flavours were far off the mark. Sadly, the barman also lacked the ability to knock up a half decent Caipirinha or Margarita.

Excellent Sunday roast, possibly top 5 in London. Starters were deliciously light and balanced, which is good preparation for the enormous portions of the main. Fantastic roast potatoes, and genuinely the best Yorkshire pudding I've ever tasted (probably because it was seasoned!) The meat (sirloin for me, pork belly for my partner) was beautifully cooked. The only, and very minor, detractor was the vegetable sides - just a tiny bit bland. Although, I note that any additional vegetables are complementary, a nice touch. Didn't get to try the desserts (only £7 extra for three courses) as the mains were so filling. Our service was attentive and warm. We will be back no doubt.

We came here for Sunday lunch and enjoyed the food and pub atmosphere. We opted for the 3 courses and I had the salmon (nice and fresh), sirloin of beef with potatoes, vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and gravy (generous portion and well cooked beef), the cauliflower cheese (great side to have with the roast) and the sticky toffee pudding (delicious). All the staff were friendly and the service was great.

Wow. What a wonderful dining experience. We had the venison tartare and the mackerel to start, both were fantastic. Presented beautifully and and flavours to match. We chose the beef Wellington to share. I can honestly say I have never had such a perfect dinner. The star of the show was the truffle mash. My partner and I were blown away. We will definitely return

Lovely cosy restaurant in Shoreditch. The Xmas menu has a good selection. The Manager and the waitress were both very friendly and helpful. Ruth the head chef came out to see if everything was ok which made the experience more special as we are great fans of her on The Great British Menu. The free gift was also a nice touch.

We had such a wonderful dining experience last night! From the moment we walked in, the cozy atmosphere and the friendly staff made us feel at home. The menu had so many mouthwatering dishes with original pairings and seasonal ingredients - it was honestly so hard to choose what to go for. We went for tempura cauliflower, carrot hummus, confit pork belly, citrus cured salmon, leek pressè, beef rillette to end with miso and coffee caramel tart…And I must say, we haven’t been disappointed! Flavours were exquisite, with a top-notch presentation…the chef's attention to detail was evident in every bite. Will definitely come back!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Had our first Sunday roast here and so glad that we did. The entire 3 course menu was delicious and felt like it was an elevated spin to a beloved classic. Highly recommend, especially if you’re looking for a great first experience to a Sunday roast.

Excellent tasting menu. For me the desserts, pasta and snacks were the highlights. The main duck lacked a bit of punch but this didn’t detract from our leisurely lunch. Compact but interesting and sensibly priced wine list. Will definitely return to try more seasonal dishes.

On Sunday they have a prix fixe menu with 2 or three courses. Starters were a delicious selection of cold seafood. We all opted for the traditional roast beef dinner which came with so many sides and gravy and yorkshire puddings we could barely finish it all. Deserts were unbelievable. It’s a little off the beaten path and we only went based on a recommendation. It’s Michelin rated but I don’t believe it has a star but definitely deserves a few! Go here, you won’t regret it!

Overall good experience but let down by poor management of bookings. Booked for 19:30 and they sat us down at 20:15 on a Thursday night. Another star deducted through forgetting drinks orders. The food was really tasty though and quite reasonably priced.

Honestly the best pub food I've ever had. We came back again today and had a Sunday roast and....wow! Everything was spectacular. We got the pork and beef and both were perfectly cooked and great quality meat. The roast potatoes were some of the best too, crispy, fresh and lots of flavour. Just amazing. Have to try the beef cheese toastie. The staff were all so lovely, we brought a dog and he was very spoiled! Can't rate it highly enough.

The Sunday roast was fine, the taste and quality of the meat was excellent, plus the Yorkshire pudding was fab. However the cauliflower cheese was mostly burnt and really just cauliflower topped with grilled cheese. Service was patchy, atmosphere was jovial, puddings were fantastic (especially the pumpkin spice soufflé). So, a mixed bag.

Had lunch here on 50% off food offer and it was a wonderful treat. The choices on the menu were difficult to choose from. For starters we had the sea bream and the carrot hummus which was a generous portion of food and was delicious. Mains was the sirloin beef and the pollock in a crab bisque, this was very flavoursome dish. We were given some bread with our meal but we don't eat carbs so this was taken away but replaced with their seed crackers which were amazing and very moreish! Cocktails & wine were very good. We didn't have desert but they looked lush! My only criticism was that one of the servers was not as attentive as we would have liked which meant we had to keep calling the staff over for more drinks etc but that is the only thing I can criticise. The toilets were quaint and clean and the cutlery was the cutest set of cutlery I have ever seen!

My experience at the Princess of Shoreditch has been nothing short of delightful. This charming gastropub stands out for its sophisticated selection of dishes and the quality of its ingredients. The service is truly exceptional, making everyone feel at home. Each dish we tried was a testament to the culinary expertise behind the menu. I particularly recommend starting with the shared nibbles, which are perfect for setting the tone of a lovely meal. The ambiance is wonderfully cozy, making it an ideal spot for dinner. Additionally, their Sunday roast is a must-try – it's not only generous in portion but also super flavourful. I can't wait to come back very soon!

Food was very good. Nice relaxed pub setting. Great weekend lunch option. I thought the food was better than some of the Michelin starred pubs in London.

The best experience I've had in London in a long while. We had the puy lentils, braised venison, and the pollock in addition to various side dishes. Every dish and every component was full of flavour. Staff members were quick and courteous. The atmosphere is intimate, like you're sitting in a private dining venue. The emphasis is really on the food and guests' comfort, not the bougie accessories and decoration like in so many places around town. I can't recommend the Princess of Shoreditch enough for everyone who's looking for a flavour bomb packed in some classic dishes.

Service was friendly but food was pretty disappointing. Sadly not quite the same standard as it’s sister pub, Pig& Butcher. Starters were standard. Nothing to write home about. The Dorset crab crumpet did stand out - the quality of the crab was very good but the crumpet tasted a tad stale. I ordered the pollock (which was pretty good). My partner ordered the sirloin, which was somewhat tasteless despite looking like it had been cooked perfectly medium rare. Probably needed a better sear and a touch more salt to bring out the flavour of the meat. For dessert, we both ordered the strawberry soufflé - definitely too sweet. The whole top layer tasted purely of sugar and the rest of the soufflé tasted like cheap strawberry jam. Like the sirloin, it was aesthetically pleasing but failed the taste test. Would ditch the strawberry jam and serve with more of the crème fraiche ice cream (or just crème fraiche). Overall, a mid experience, especially considering the price point.

Very tasty sea bream starter and roast beef dinner to follow. I was a single walk-in and there were no tables available, but I enjoyed a good meal at the bar, with a friendly bar-keeper and another patron on a quest to try (and rate) every beer on the planet.

I visited the Princess for a dinner with my colleagues. We had a warm welcome, and were sat on a lovely table in the dining room. They had a great and comprehensive wine list. The food was amazing, I went for the Venison, which was the perfect dish in the run up to winter. Then the chocolate cremuex was the perfect way to end the meal. And to top it off, the service was very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back for dinner soon.
