Brilliant experience! Had the pork belly roast with all the trimmings, a handful of cocktails and the unique scotch egg to start. Food was as good as it gets, service was also personable and passionate and the interior was beautiful. Even an option to stay in one of the lush hotel rooms if you can't stand up after filling yourself full of roast potatoes! Highly recommended!

Stayed in the hotel for a night, really lovely rooms for such a great price! The bed was very comfy and had a lovely coffee in the morning from the in-room coffee machine! Had a few drinks in the bar, nice selection of beers on offer and a really friendly group of staff running the show. Would highly recommend, easy to get all around London too from Farringdon station, which is like a 5 minute walk away.

We stayed in the hotel 1 week, ate the restaurant twice, and drank in the pub thrice. Hotel: clean, well-maintained, and in a great location. Pub: just a few beers on tap, but a decent variety of UK beers & imports. Food: quite good, although it’s been a few days and I can’t remember exactly what I ate. I do remember thinking at the time it was tasty.

Went there for a quick dinner on weekday. That was a miss!!! Not quick at all. We're there around 7.30. Poor choice of beers - nothing local. I think we would not have commented on the food if we didn't have to wait almost 50 min for a burger a Cx ceaser salad and a Scottish egg! Staff was happy and jolly. Don't mind helping small independent businesses but would appreciate some care in return 😊

Visited the pub for Sunday Roast. Good vibes and nice location. Menu looked promising with many options, however we then were told half the options weren’t available. Strange. The other negative feedback was that the service was super slow, however the food was very good when it finally arrived

What a beautiful pub and hotel! Haven't been for a while since they refurbished actually and what a wonderful group of staff so friendly and helpful! I asked for cocktail suggestions and was not disappointed and the sourdough toasties is to die for. Will definitely be returning and thank you to the young man that suggested the watermelon vodka I didn't catch his name properly but I think it began with a J, Jamie or James maybe

We had a completely lovely stay at this hotel in June! Everything exceeded expectations. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were large and comfortable. Super comfy bed, large shower/bath tub and bathroom. Wonderful breakfast basket delivered to us for each morning complete with a pastry, yogurt, juice, fruit pot, and more. It’s in a great location, too. We will definitely stay here again when in London!

I had a wonderful evening at the Clerk & Well the other evening. We attended Clerk Fest where two wonderful singers enhanced our evening of delicious cocktails and wonderful ambience. Will definitely be returning to try some food next time!

We booked the restaurant for dinner for a birthday celebration on 23/01 and had fantastic service from the staff. I would also like to say a big thank you for the thoughtfulness as we had a table in the front for drinks first, I so appreciated it. A big shout out goes to all the staff for making it a brilliant night to remember and food was excellent as usual. We did not stay over but have very good things about it.

I booked the private area at the Clerk & Well for our family Christmas lunch. The attention to detail we were welcomed with was lovely, a beautifully decorated table, with crackers and overall wholesome, festive feel. The staff were excellent in providing service and ensuring we were happy with everything. Our food order was brought out in an orderly manner (as it was a large group) and it was delicious! Thank you to all the staff... we had an excellent afternoon!

Didn't stay in the hotel but a relaxed place to work during the week with very friendly service from Lori. Excellent drink selection at the bar and a lovely breakfast too.

They probably need to put a notice on the wall that customers not to too loud or tune their huge speaker at the outside of pub. Annoying music all day to night in the middle of residential area and the accommodation!

I had a great time at this pub. The waiters and waitresses were committed to great service and were very friendly. The atmosphere was awesome and Lori was brilliant looking after us.

I was so pleased with my stay at The Clerk and Well hotel. Room was really spacious and quiet - I was on the top floor, so be mindful there are stairs, but the staff was so friendly to help me with getting my backs both up and back down for checkout. A fantastic full breakfast is included, which was delicious and the perfect way to start the day. The staff went above and beyond to make my stay welcoming. Lori welcomed me upon arrival and was such a help in getting me sorted on the public transit as a new visitor to London. She was kind, friendly and helpful during my entire stay! Claudia was also kind to me with some suggestions as well. Looking forward to my next stay at The Clerk & Well soon!

Almost charged for someone else's full meal when I ordered two desserts. Then the boy looked at me as if I was the idiot. Dessert was supposed to come with custard but I was given banana ice cream without asking. I hate banana. I asked for a glass of wine instead and was told they only had one dessert wine, whichbthe manager graciously gave me 'free of charge.' Another punter came in as they'd been waiting for ages and found their food sitting on the bar. After they complained to the manager, I heard the manager say, "if one more person says something, I'm going to punch them in the throat." A really appalling experience throughout.

Room 7 looking v tired. Missing taps on sink and shower, temporary toilet seat in bathroom and radiator covers in bedroom caved in. No milk with tea and coffee. Friendly staff and clean, but for the price the room should have no obvious flaws

Proof that it can be done. Friendly, helpful, obliging bartenders. Immaculate throughout. Completely reassured that in tourist locations you can be treated well, despite the fact that you're only passing through. Unlike some other places that I have recently reviewed. The staff here understand what a Pub should be; welcoming.

Annoying that we weren’t informed that the kitchens were closed (why?). Opened the fridge to find two wrapped pan au chocolat a kiln jar of apple/mango and strawberry. Two small yoghurts, 1 bowl. The next day we got more of the same but this time 1 soup spoon!?! No knife or butter for the scones which were so stale we couldn’t break them. We also weren’t informed that a team of decorators would be working in adjoining rooms. Housekeeping hadn’t vacuumed food crumbs on the floor and walked straight in on checkout day (1 hour early!). We ate across the road at Fidelios but I wouldn’t waste your money there either. Shame as the room (5) and en-suite were nice. Certainly not luxury; my wife is housekeeping manager at an AA gold 5* inn and has worked at Claridges so she knows her ‘stuff’. I’ve travelled extensively and am usually forgiving - not this time.

The Clerk&Well hotel is wonderful: great location, very clear and new rooms, silence with no additional noises that is incredibly rare in London. The room is very big, with comfortable furniture, spacious bathroom and a little kitchen corner with coffee machine, kettle and a little fridge. Absolutely enjoyed every minute of our stay here❤️ highly recommended!!!

Had a wonderful stay at this inn! The room was spacious and the bed fluffy and comfortable. The gastropub was delightful with great food and a free breakfast that could include salmon eggs Benedict. The staff was super and remembered my coffee preference. Great location in bustling Clerkenwell across the street from the Leather Lane street food tents. A short walk from central London.

visited recently and I can honestly say it was such a pleasant experience from the moment we entered, totally in love with the decor and food. Everything tasted absolutely beautiful, we were served by James who was incredibly attentive and made sure we wanted for nothing. Will definitely return ASAP, and bring our friends with x

We hosted a staff social at the Clerk & Well which was great! The bar staff were super kind and attentive, and all the food tasted great (although we did order too much). Jess on the bookings team was really helpful, and ensured we had everything we needed for the social. We will be back!

Amazing Sunday Roast. We had the chicken and substituted the Yorkshire pudding for the stuffing. It was delicious. Very nice ambience for a Sunday and the pub renovations are excellent. Very comfortable abs cozy seating.

The pub hosted us for a work Christmas party and could not have been accommodating - they were so willing to help, provided lots of lovely extras and service was fantastic. It all went so smoothly and would 100% recommend to anyone for the fantastic food, drinks and staff.

We stayed here in July. Really nicely decorated pub with rooms. Great restaurant and bar downstairs. The rooms are large for London standards and well priced. Very comfortable rooms and beds. Blackout curtains and good windows mean that you don't hear the early noises from the street. Exmouth market with great eating options is a 10 minute walk away. The cafe across the street also has great coffee and toast in the morning. Saying that, you get a breakfast basket sent to your room too. I'd love to stay here again. We had left luggage when we left, and Claudia dealt with this so nicely and without fuss. Very impressed with the friendliness and professionalism. Great stuff!

Really good city centre pub. Well worth a visit for drinks and food. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff were a delight. Love the decor too. I recommend 😊

Really nice hotel facilities well above what I had expected. Although it is essentially a pub down stairs serving Thai food all freshly prepared. They have fitted out the rooms upstairs to a very high standard. Unfortunately I haven't taken photos but go online at theclerkandwell.co to see pictures. What you see is what you get and they are very good. Word to the wise, the rooms are on three floors with no lift so if you halve difficulty walking up and down a lot of steps insist on a first floor room. Remember this is a traditional old Victorian if not earlier building so the flights of stairs are steep. The rooms are worth the effort though. Only disappointment being that the shaving socket in the bathroom did not work and we were not stay g longer than one night. Staff were all very welcoming, friendly, helpful with a genuine smile of being able to help you. Will definitely recommend and stay again.

Went here to watch mainly to watch a footie match. The place was lively but not overly busy, which was great for me as we got a seat. We ordered the sharing fried starters. The food was really tasty - very Asian inspired cuisine. There was a lack of match commentary at the start in favour of music but at the request of someone, the bar staff did turn the TV volume up but kept it low. Overall, good find for me thanks to match pint and would come here again to watch a match and to grab a bite.

The food & service was brilliant. The admisphere was was great as England were playing but I don't think that would take away this pub in normal times

Nice Thai food which is really well priced considering the quality because it does taste fresh. The staff are quick and polite, the atmosphere is like a pub so its a good blend of both. Really would recommend for a good lunch or dinner with isnt too formal but gives you full stomachs.

Very professional and friendly staff that makes you feel welcome and keeps checking up on you throughout the dinner. Prices like everywhere, although in my opinion not expensive, and the food is just amazing, so tasty!!!

probably don't charge people full price for pre-booked meals if they aren't able to show up (e.g. covid and trying to be responsible) it's out of peoples hands - read the room.

Lovely atmosphere, good selection of drinks and the staff were very friendly....even down to informing us that the ceiling is actually silver and not gold!
