Nice views of the wier from the garden at the rear. Very relaxing during the week. Very busy at week ends. Good selection of beers and lagers. Food is above standard pub grub but not gastro standards

Beautiful location and incredible atmosphere of the pub makes it my local favourite with terrace overlooking the River Lea and Dobbs Weir. Refreshing in the Summer, cosy and warm in Winter with the real wood fireplaces. Super friendly staff (I 've been served by Louise many times over and always top experience!☆☆☆☆☆) They serve delicious quality food ( priced accordingly but definitely worth spending). Great deal on homemade cocktails during weekdays.

Came here for a drink and chill. Staff were not the friendliest I have to say. I asked a member of staff politely to wipe the dirty table and just got a death stare and no communication at all. It was as if I’d asked for a crazy request! Ordered drinks and fries to the table through the app which was very convenient. The fries were really tasty but overpriced for a tiny portion. The one thing this place has going for it is the view. Customer service really needs to be looked at!

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was first rate. The only thing for me was I like Scotch eggs a more runny. Great value at 10 pounds

This is my favourite pub in the area. The pub has a very welcoming and calm atmosphere. The inside decoration is beautifully designed and makes you want to stay more. The outdoor space is huge and you don't feel crowde. been next to the water to relax or feed the ducks is a plus. We had drinks only on all occasions we were there so cannot comment on food. I do recommend this place.

Had a very pleasant evening at the fish and eels Christmas market night. Few nice Christmas stalls outside. Had nice meal great service from Michelle. Only negative was the menu didn’t have too much choice or description as to what was included. As someone who can’t eat dairy it was quite limited choice for myself but everyone else enjoyed their meals

Love the riverside site of this pub so took my daughter for some lunch. She was keen to have children's pizza but unfortunately none available so had to pick alternative. I ordered the Korean chicken skewers, the chicken (1 skewer with 4 chunks) didn't seem to have any flavour on it so not sure what made it 'Korean' and the actual chicken was not good quality meat, was a bit fatty for chicken. The sides I ordered were quite nice (mango salsa and chips) The pudding on the other hand was well presented and tasted nice. Just a bit disappointed in the main course to be honest as I normally love eating here. I would have said something to our waitress but unfortunately 2 tables next to us had complained to her already and got money off food so didn't want to seem like I was just trying to pull a fast one!

I visited for the first time for my Nan’s birthday this evening. What a lovely experience! We arrived to a beautifully decorated pub with cosy fairy lights and a burning log fire next to our table. We were greeted with an amazing waitress Louise, whose service was outstanding. She made us feel extremely welcome and accommodated all of our requests. The food was delicious. I requested my food without a certain vegetable, but the chef did not remove it. Before I had even noticed, Louise came over and told us she had removed my meal from our bill as it was their mistake, which was so kind. Her quality customer service made our evening. The atmosphere was calm and peaceful. The best service that I have received in a local pub/restaurant for years. I’m so glad that we chose this place to celebrate our nan’s birthday, and I will definitely be returning. Would highly recommend to everyone!

Never disappointed when I visit, whatever the occasion, be it a drink, lunch, dinner or to celebrate a special event. .Yesterday we celebrated my parent’s Golden Anniversary. We received a warm friendly greeting with a congratulatory welcome for my parents. Had a great table over looking the river. We were served by Michelle, her table service , as always, was warm, friendly and prompt. She always has a smile and makes you feel at home, with a nothing is too much trouble attitude. I’m always pleased when I see she is serving as I know the experience will be first class. Thanks to the chef, all the food was delicious. We all had a great lunch and look forward to our next visit!

Food is always lovely. Atmosphere and surrounds are unsurpassed. Just a lovely way to spend an afternoon. We visit quite regularly. Plus, you love doggies which means we can bring our little Ellie with us. Always a bonus.

We’re moving to the area soon and on our second viewing we asked a friend for a recommendation and he told us the fish and eels. We have been back twice since and with our new rescue dog. Not only was the service and food amazing all 3 visits but now we have the added bonus of how relaxed and welcome they make us feel with our rescue dog. Even offered water bowl and treats for him so not only are we looked after but also our new addition to our family. We got the burger last Saturday and it was amazing. The man on the door is super welcoming and friendly, we look forward to being regulars and bringing family and friends with us too

It was a very warm day, there was no AC. Service very slow. Food average. Nice looking pub apart from the stains on the carpet and dead flies on the window sills.

Great pub to enjoy on your walk along the river. We enjoyed the brisket sandwich and good selection of beers in the wonderful riverside garden. An absolute gem in the Lea Valley.

Louise's service was impeccable, elevating our dining experience to new heights. The food was delicious, from the flavorful seabass and succulent rib eye steak to the comforting soup. A truly enjoyable and highly recommended culinary adventure!

We went for a bite on one of their busiest day. We were pleased to be quickly seated on arrival (after being gently reminded to enter our car registration at the bar for free parking, which was a nice touch). It was a hot day and the terrace was busy. There was still some seating space indoor. The outdoor space is located by the river and provides a nice and relaxed backdrop to afternoon drinks with family and our friends. The indoor restaurant is nicely laid out with light throughout the room. The menu has a nice variety of starters, mains and deserts with the usual Sunday roast choice. The desert choices are fun too. We went for the fish main on a bed of potatoes, with a side of greens. The other dish was a chicken forestière with skin on chips. For dessert we both went for the trio of desserts, including a chocolate pudding with a gooey centre on top of which there was a scoop of honeycomb ice-cream, a lemon sort of mini cheesecake and a small creme brûlé. All of which were decent sized portions. Let's just say we were not hungry by the end of our dinner! The only reason why I gave 4/5 stars for the food is because the presentation was a bit simple but that's me being picky! Definitely a place we will attend again in future! Great pub!

Have been here 3-4 times and each time the food has been good (for lunch and dinner). Perhaps a little more pricey than most pubs nearby but not outrageously so. Its also dog friendly which is a plus for me and on the weekend just gone we managed to book a bar table for 5 and bring the dog. Waitresses were really friendly and polite. The inside has a nice cozy feel and the outside is great during the summer.

Great service, great food and great value. We went on Mother's Day. The restaurant was packed, but service was efficient, the waiter was great, no mistakes with our orders, and no long delays waiting for food or drinks. Honestly, I've been to restaurants which have been a quarter as full and the service has not been half as good. So a lot of the credit must go to the manager of this pub restaurant for the most amazing organisation.

Hidden gem. Free parking for customers... Don't forget to register your car though. Good service. Nice seat position next to the water. Food was fine. Prices about normal. Some good nearby walks. Worth a visit.

Amazing Mother’s Day dinner! With a fresh refurb the place has a lovely warm feel to it with great views over the water. The highlight without a doubt though was the food, which is possibly the best pub food I’ve enjoyed for quite some time. Huge perfectly cooked roast dinner and succulent steaks were all just perfect and so tasty, as were the desserts. It is on the pricier side, but great value given the quality.
