I've been here a number of times over the years, but 13th Feb 2022, was the first time for Sunday lunch. A tad more expensive than you might pay elsewhere, but the Sunday roast was excellent, as was the starter & dessert. The waitress who served us, was very pleasant & attentive.

The Galley Hall has an excellent terraced garden with views across the delightful Hertfordshire farmland. The owners have invested significantly in many facilities over the years, the inside of the pub is still old world charming, with a great regular menu - meal costs have been held at pre-covid levels - many pubs are jacking up prices. The pub catches the sun late evening so it's charming to relax on the terrace in glorious warmth. Note, some photos taken at about 5pm so the pub looks quiet. As it's a freehouse there is a wonderful selection of beers and cider on tap.

Lovely pub with great prices and extremely friendly staff in the bar and the restaurant. The garden is lovely with ample parking. The food is pretty good as well.

Unscheduled visit about midday, today but worth it. Only being 2 of us , they found us a table, That will give you an idea of how popular the place is. Our meals were generous and filling, such that we never needed a dessert. You may notice from my pics there was still food on our plates, we did need a 'breather' before we could finish them. Stall polite and friendly

Recently had an evening meal here. The food was delicious, and not expensive either. Friendly staff. A very popular restaurant/pub so definitely book in advance!

Just had one of the worst sirloin steaks ever at this place, an awful, inedible cut of meat that any half decent chef would have discarded. First and last time I'll visit the place. Edit: the "replacement" meal was not to my complete satisfaction, and I certainly did not eat "every scrap" of it, although the owner's choice of word ("scrap") adequately describes the quality of their food.

My first visit here & I was quite impressed. The Scampi was very nice & cooked to perfection, & the Guinness was fresh & ice cold. The Ladies serving were very attentive & polite & extremely helpful. Would definitely visit again & would recommend for a pint & some lovely food.

Warm and friendly atmosphere, well presented surroundings with outdoor area and multiple indoor parts. Good choice of beverages and then the food itself, you're in for a treat here as this is high quality food served with a smile. We were a party of six and every meal was perfect and there was even a gluten free Yorkshire pudding option for one of our party. The staff and owners clearly care about their clients and are professional, I would rate this restaurant as one of my absolute favourites and look forward to my next visit. Well done to the team.

Having been a few times for meals I can recommend the food in this pub. The chicken burger had great flavour! What makes this pub special are the staff who are always friendly and accommodating. For that reason and more its a firm favourite of ours. A fantastic function room too which can be rented out for weddings, parties and other events!

I will always come back here, beautiful and traditional English pub. It's always busy on a Sunday (I haven't been during the week) lovely hearty Sunday roasts and the homemade puddings are so good.

If you are looking for traditional pub grub, this is the place to go. The staff members are very polite and friendly and portions are very generous. I opted for the lamb stew special and found the flavours to be very good. Thumbs up from me.

Had a lovely sunday roast here, great value, very good quality. All our meals were fantastic. Atmosphere was warm inviting with friendly staff. Fab fireplaces and a true old british pub. Wish I lived nearby!

Sunday roasts looked great - decent portions - but the meat, the star of the show, was very dry even when slathered with gravy. Separately ordered sides of cauliflower cheese and roast parsnips were very good. Not a fan of the live music which was more Saturday night party than Sunday afternoon chill. That all said, pub still better than most others in or near Hoddesdon.
