Lovely local pub with the best food in Stony! Great staff and good size outdoor seating when the weather allows. Most importantly (for us) dog friendly!

My now wife and I had our wedding here from the vows to the wedding breakfast and the party. Couldn't have picked a better venue, the staff were fantastic and the food was great too. Would recommend to anyone who wants to book their wedding or if they just want a good old knees up.

I felt compelled to leave this review after ready some of the negative reviews I think this hotel is lovely, full of character and charm. The room was spacious, warm and cozy , the bathroom does need a bit of attention but that for me is a minor point I stay away a lot with work and try and stay away from the big chain hotels and this hotel is a little gem , id totally recommend. I would definitely stay here again, thank you for my very comfy stay

This was my first visit and was pleasantly surprised by the single room. It had a view over the courtyard, had a comfy bed and well appointed ensuite. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was great.

Used to eat here often as was lovely, a few weeks ago I had raw gammon, the manager at the time was very apologetic and was great, then back again to have pate on toast that was 2 slices of bread not toast like it states (small error so ignored it) and then again today tried pate again and had one small slice off toast that even with putting the pate on in a huge mound wouldn't fit, asked the new manager for a second slice of toast so not to waste the pate and was refused quite rudely (Must cost them about 10p!) That's how it comes now apparently, I've taken the rest of my pate home with me! The front of house/bar staff were lovely as always but after 3 attempts and something each time we won't be rushing back

Lovely venue for a couple swift halves with the lads on a Friday night. Staff are very friendly, good selection of beer, and great music. One of the few pubs on the high street where you can have a good chat without raising your voice during the peak Friday evening hours

Don’t like to leave bad reviews, but sadly the service ruined a birthday evening for us last Friday! We had a table of 6 booked, 1 of the group arrived early and told the staff we’d like to sit outside in the courtyard, but this wasn’t apparently an issue and we’d still be served as we’d booked. We decided to first order some drinks, and did so via the app. About 30 minutes later we decided to go investigate where our drinks are, to be told that the staff don’t check app orders and that we should have ordered via table service! Why have an app if no one should use it or it’s not checked?! We promptly ordered food and another round of drinks from a (we must say very polite) younger waitress, before an older more grumpy one arrived with our first drinks, slammed them on the table and said goodnight and stormed off! Our starters arrived fine, but then another hour went by before we went to the bar to ask where our mains were, apparently they had been forgotten and would now be cooked! By this point we were very fed up, so when the mains did come we asked for the bill so we could leave quickly. We had to ask for this a further 3 times and waited nearly 40 mins before the bill came! I appreciate that there seemed to be an event inside, so maybe the kitchen was busy with this, but why take further bookings if you can’t accommodate those meals? We had arranged to meet friends at 8pm (meal was booked at 6pm), but unfortunately we had to re-arrange this as we couldn’t leave the restaurant before our bill had been paid!

We had booked a rage room which included a night's stay here. The staff were super welcoming as soon as we stepped foot in the hotel. Lewis working the bar was an incredible host, kept us laughing all evening. Location is great, as it's in the middle of a highstreet. Thouroughly enjoyed our stay. 10/10 would stay here again.

AVOID WHERE POSSIBLE! We booked Christmas Dinner at the £29 package they have now increased it to £80. I have tried to call reservations for over 2 weeks and they are ignoring all phone calls and voicemails (that I can see have been opened) This will be spread all over social media to ensure everyone knows about this money grabbing business.

Bar staff very friendly, place looks nicely decorated and styled. Although a chair was squeaky and stained so not everything. Meal was big and well cooked. Lovely large fresh salad accompanied meal best I've had all year from restraunts in UK. Serving staff smiling

I threw my partner her surprise 40th party in the function room here and it went down so well. Thank you to Sara and the whole team for such a fantastic evening and stay. Tim & Darren were very helpful throughout the afternoon and night. The bar man was also great. A special mention to the lady that was on check-in throughout the afternoon, most of our guests mentioned how lovely, helpful and accommodating she was but sadly we never got her name. The managerial team at the hotel were very accommodating with everything I wanted at the party and assisted in getting everything perfect for the night. They were on hand from start til finish. I had organised a 360 camera using a company called Eden360Hire, which went down a storm with our guests. We received everyones videos at the end of the night so we could forward them on and keep them as memories. All of our guests, even the kids had the best time, as did we. Everyone was so complimentary. Thanks again.

Lovely hotel and a warm welcome from penny at reception. Ideal for our visit to Silverstone race circuit only 15 mins away. Hotel on the high street with some lovely shops close by. Will visit again when down there

Wedding reception excellent. The room was clean and tidy, although a water stain by the bathroom door. Let down by the 45 minutes wait between serving tea and breakfast.

We go to this pub lots, great front of house staff but always seem stretched. Usually we get bar snacks and take the dogs wich is great but today we went for Sunday lunch. To pay £14.99 for a Turkey Roast dinner I would have expected much better than what I received today. On the plate was one slice of turkey, cooked well and very moist but to only have one piece I thought stingey to say the least. The veg was dire, a few carrots and some dry grey cabbage. Potatoes were mediocre, I was missing my pigs in blankets and the stuffing was hard. But to not even be able to cook a Yorkshire pudding was the icing on the cake, it was genuinely raw in the middle, centre inedible. There was a small splash of gravy, it would have been nice to of had a jug. I would have complained or sent it back but had my daughter with us and I can't see how they could have changed anything, fine for a bowl of chips but never going back for Sunday Lunch that's for sure. Such a shame

Stayed as part of a group of eight friends for two nights. Great location, older style comfortable rooms. The staff were very helpful, Christine was especially patient and gracious with us in particular with strong our copious amounts of luggage and groceries. Thanks everyone.

Was working in the area and needed somewhere reasonable to stay so booked two rooms. Good points, lovely location, big car park out the back, beds were clean/comfortable and the breakfast was nice, good selection of drinks and majority of staff were friendly. Bad points.. Bathroom in room number 5 needs attention, mould on the ceiling, dusty, dirty walls then lastly the bath outer which is made with tiles is literally about to fall off which if that was to go onto your foot would hurt! We were planning to eat there ( as that’s what we do normally eat where we stay) but was told we had to order at 6 because of the wedding. Considering the pub is open all day and doesn’t say they aren’t serving until a particular time is wrong in my opinion as if we had known we could have made other arrangements, especially it being a Friday night and places get booked up! If you have paid to stay somewhere you would expect the place to operate normally even if they have an event on? Either do one or the other. Lastly a member of staff didn’t seem to have the time of day for people wanting food or staying and came across quite rude.. Overall the rooms themselves are comfortable and somewhat clean but could do with some tlc, The breakfast is lovely and lastly the location is good.

Overlooking the issues surrounding the requirement for some necessary tidy up/ redecoration off the buildings, fabulous service, and a great choice for a wedding venue, enjoyed the drink and food, cracking breakfasts, and a really nice atmosphere, the courtyard perfect for a drink especially with your dogs who are most welcomed

Less than average accommodation, £125 superior room inc. breakfast, spacious but needs a full renovation, bathroom was poor, paint peeling, cracks, broken shower head, hot tap constantly fast dripping lobby and room doors is abysmal. Obviously noisy too being a pub, but being directly over the bar was an unwelcome bonus. Next day, Breakfast order was wrong excuse was one chef was off sick. Won't be returning, the Mercure down the road for the same money is far superior. Good location is all it has going for it if that's what's needed. Oh, the heating was good too....but that's it.

No toilet paper in our room despite asking 3 times for some (luckily we had 2 rooms so could pinch some!) Dusty and cobwebs, furniture a bit battered..... but lovely comfy bed, nice warm room, good toiletries and towels. Breakfast disappointing. Could have played golf with the poached egg! Wasn't worth the 45 minute wait.

Very friendly and helpful staff working hard to make a pit of a hotel half decent, but sadly it’s too big a task. The rooms are awful. Very very tired and damaged. Torn wallpaper, broken parts in the bathroom, scaled up shower head, overused shower curtain etc. it’s such a shame this beautiful old building is not invested in and refurbished to make a decent standard hotel.

Firdt time I went for dinner with a friend. Not impressed! Her food came out wrong, was taken back, and her burger came out cold. I asked for a glass of water before we ordered and had to ask for it 3 more times before I got it. We asked for the bill which we got and waited over 15 minutes for someone to come and take our money obky to find out we had to go to the desk in reception to pay. Overall it seemed like the staff didn't know what they were doing, ftint of house as well as in the kitchen!!

Great place to stay with helpful staff. Clean and warm room with lovely decoration. We've had full english breakfast which was delicious and portion was just right. 100% recommended.

We ordered sausage and mash and a prawn salad for dinner. Very disappointed. The sausages were dry - as if they'd been rescued from breakfast leftovers. The lettuce around the prawns hadn't been washed. Very basic stuff...

Wow where do I begin! I had my wedding here on 30/09/2022 Despite covid postponing the wedding Sara went above and beyond to ensure we still had our perfect day and we did eventually All the staff was amazing but most of all Darren! No ask was too much for him on the day he made myself and my guests feel very comfortable and he handled the whole wedding from start to finish Without Darren our day wouldn’t of been as relaxed as it was so Thankyou so much! The food was delicious! The turn around for the marquee room to change from ceremony to reception was done efficiently and looked fabulous Thankyou to you all and will look forward to returning next year for our anniversary

Visited stony Stratford to visit an old friend, so booked into the hotel. We were only in for one night but, would definitely stay again. Staff helpful and friendly on arrival. Room was amazing with a view of the high street, very clean and comfortable(had great nights sleep). Good facilities in room(TV, tea and coffee, fan, hair dryer) and WiFi also. Water pressure in shower a little low but, not enough to spoil visit

Two night stay to meet up with old work colleagues. The rooms were clean and tidy, although the hotel is an old coaching house. Loads of character, good beer and very good food. We often stay in Greene King Hotels, and have always found them comfortable, friendly and good value.
