If you are looking for a classic English pub that serves incredible American-style food then the Town Arms is 100% my recommendation. Friendly staff, busy but still very relaxed environment, cosy atmosphere and amazing food. Cannot recommend enough!

Really gone downhill - dirty toilets, expensive pints £5.80 for lager (and not even Camden hells anymore!), stop serving food early without warning, disinterested and impolite staff. On one notable occasion a large group of us ordered via the app, when half the food didn’t arrive and we questioned why, we were told the order hadn’t been received and the kitchen was now closed. Unfortunately we keep coming back expecting a revival but it just hasn’t happened Why has the tap in the gents been loose for over two years??

Really enjoyed our one night stay here. The four bed suite was spotless. Some noise from the road but to be expected. Staff were really friendly and nice atmosphere in the pub. Limited menu but the burgers are excellent! Breakfast was excellent and half price for guests! Car park across the road and free parking a 10 minute walk away. Overall a nice stay. Centre of town is 5 mins walk.

Best burgers in and around Wally. Friendly team. Good selection of beers and ciders with alternating guest brews!

Only minimal Sunday menu, just few people and they still needed 37 minutes to serve two Sunday roasts. The meat was unevenly coocked - mine was fine, my wife's was unchewable. Vegs quite nice, but very small portions and very expensive drinks - two roasts + 2 cokes for £40.

Stayed here on Saturday night. Parked in Thames St carpark across the road. Was hoping there would be live music on but not last weekend. The beer garden, with the heated and sheltered booths, was perfect on a cool evening. The room was great and the slight nose from the street did not stop me from having a good night's sleep. The shower was amazing. Was not informed of 'last orders' and was disappointed when I couldn't get a drink when the bar was still full of people drinking. Didn't stay for breakfast in the morning.

Did not stay, came here for lunch. It was DELICIOUS! Both me and my husband love what we got (chicken joe burger and burger of the month). Will come again every time I want burger. :)

Absolutely perfect Sunday lunch with some of the family. Roast beef cooked to choice and it it was perfect, as was the Yorkshire pudding and all the trimmings. Nothing elaborate or over-the-top - just really good, cooked perfectly. Flavoursome and excellent portion size too. Will definitely be back.

The room was absolutely gorgeous, combining classic charm with a modern and refreshing feel. The staff couldn't have been better - friendly and exceptional right from the moment we walked in to when we left. The bar had a really nice variety of drinks. Interestingly, they didn't just stick to the usual draft lagers, which was a pleasant surprise. Now, I have a few new favourite brands to rave about. When we made the booking, we believed this was a breakfastless venu. However, to see the options was great. The breakfast Quesadillas were something else - I can't praise the chef enough for those. Hats off! Our stay was so wonderful, and we're definitely planning on coming back. Thank you for making it such a great experience. Wifi was also a plus, very fast and reliable. Whilst the kids were nodding off, we managed to fit in a few episodes of our favourite series. Always a plus to us. Car parking was only a few steps away, and we were very pleased at £3.30 for 24 hours.

Friendly staff & a decent drinks menu. Only one cask ale, but it was very well kept & from a local brewery (Amwell Springs, if memory serves me). The burgers definitely live up to their billing as the best in town.

Hotel looks nice, the decoration looks good and is recent. Very nice and helpful staff. However the lack of hygiene in the room was a big problem : filthy carpets with mice dejections + unclean bathroom. Thankfully the sheets and towels were perfectly clean.

We moored near Wallingford during a recent boating trip. Walking past the Town Arms a display quoted "The best burgers in town". Our teenagers were immediately hooked. We were shown a table outside with staff still doing table service via a self order telephone app. I liked this, the management are obviously keen to ensure.public safety. We ordered, wife opting for a pint of Corona (£5) (which seemed reasonable), me a lime soda. Food arrived about twenty minutes later, I had "The Hot One", wife buffalo fries, daughter "The Classic" and son hot dog. The family we dined with all had "Classics". Food was hot, plenty of fries accompanying the burger. As for the burgers??? I can only say it was the best burger I have ever eaten (and I've had a few!!!!). Surprisingly everyone else in our party commented the same. Yes, the prices may be a little high but for the taste they are well worth it. Good venue, friendly staff, good service and the best burgers ever!!!!!

The Town arms team have a brilliant space and have worked incredibly hard to gain such a fantastic reputation within town. Their drinks offer is varied and the pints are always well poured. The burgers are delicious with a good range available to cater for different wants and needs. They are always so welcoming and a total asset to the local area. Looking forward to the next visit.

Busy but also disorganised. Poor offer on light lunch /coffee and cake. We were there 1145am. Setting nice & comfortable.

Lovely Inn, comfortable stay for us - 2 adults, two children and a dog. Very clean and felt cosy even though room was relatively large.

Great, family friendly environment and a good choice of beers. Food wise they focus on burgers, hot dogs and loaded fries and they do them very very well. The burger was amazing! I had the BBQ burger and asked for buttermilk chicken to be added. Also got the loaded fries as well. Too much food really but it was so tasty I couldn't stop and afterwards felt pretty pleased with myself. Which is about as good of a review as I can give. Table service was good too with no delays

My family and I have had to take refuge in a hotel as an extensive water leak has forced out for Christmas. When they heard about us The Town Arms offered us dinner. We arrived and decided to put their claim to be offering the best burgers in town to the test. I never knew burgers could be THAT good. We will be looking to try other things on the menu next time. Awesome ale selection too.
