It was a sunny Saturday afternoon. Me and the boys were staying in London and we had just arrived at No.8 Seven Sisters. Upon entering the bar we ordered a drink which was £3.90 per pint. Great start! Or so I thought.. It was after we got the keys for our room that everything went downhill. The rear staircase leading to the hostel dorms upstairs was the first red flag. The walls had peeled seemingly from a fire in the past and had never been restored. At one point I thought I could still see a faint outline of a hand print. A remnant left from the poor lost souls who lost their lives that night. As we entered our dorm room it finally sunk in. The room smelt more like an autopsy room than and hostel dorm. A man was lying on his bed suspiciously still, and was curled up in a ball with a gaunt face. Of the 4 beds we booked, only 2 were made. The other 2 smelt like sewage and had marks all over them. The shared bathroom, believe it or not, was even worse than the dorm room. As we entered we all instantly breathed in enough spores to grow an entire mushroom farm in our stomachs. The amount of mold was without a doubt dangerous, and surely cannot be legal. There was literally a big hole in the wall of the bathroom with spores seeping through. I can pretty much guarantee this place hasn't had a single bit of fresh air enter it for the past few years. The windows were all shut tight. Long story short we stayed out all night because we didn't want to get seriously ill. Honestly not even worth £10 a night. Just pay £50 and don't risk it. You have been warned.

Really bad everything. Staff were rude and unreasonable, some residents very hostile, drug residue found on bathroom surface, one resident seen leaving in tears. It felt more like a homeless shelter than a hostel tbh. Bearable if you're on a very strict budget although that only applies to men. Women, I would highly suggest finding something safe.

Filthy bathrooms, like literally the worst I've seen in my life. Black mould everywhere, and the toilets stank. It did feel as though I was at a homeless shelter. The locker assigned to me was full of rubbish, and the pillow on my bed seemed as though it had been stuffed lightly with cotton wool balls and nothing else! The beds wobbled aggressively anytime someone moved. Weird clientele - lots of leery old men around. Lots of coughing, definite COVID vibes. With it being a busy hostel, with a pub underneath, it was super noisy and loud music played until 1:30am. I got about 3 hours sleep I couldn’t wait to get out of here. I’ve paid less for way better hostels in London! DO NOT STAY HERE The decor is 100% ‘live laugh love’, which made me chuckle, though.

Great budget option, the price reflects what you get. Facilities were clean and the staff was helpful. Their internet never worked during our 5 night stay, but they had recommendations for other places nearby where I could get my work done. I'd recommend staying here for any budget-savvy traveler

DO NOT STAY HERE - IT IS NOT WORTH IT. Every bad review on here is true. The hostel is on top of a dingy pub with creepy male patrons. The toilets are full of poo and paper. The kitchen is filthy. The rooms and showers are covered in mould. The guests are mostly creepy men. I found several needles on the floor of the smoking area. I checked out after two nights because I was genuinely concerned for my safety.

Very bad experience... The hostel doesn't accept Credit Card to finalize the payment of the room, but it accept to pay the drink!! It does not make sense! In the dormitories you can't breathe, the windows are tiny, making the room suffocating and dim. The state of the hostel is pitiful, dirty everywhere and decay, especially in the bathrooms where half of the showers are broken. The hostel is frequented by shady people, it seems that some of them have lived here for a lifetime, I didn't feel safe. The only positive note is the price, very affordable for everyone, but with the same amount per night i have stayed in a even more better places.

I was just told i am not allowed to stay at anymore because i argued with the cleaner this morning. I work nightshift and she was cleaning around my bed so i asked her to leave until later, she refused and continued to spray chemicals which i could then taste. i warned her saying if you spray me again i will spray you back as i was cornered. She continued to clean then left. She reported me for inappropriate behaviour as saying i would spray back was threatening.

From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by the warm and welcoming staff who made me feel right at home. They were extremely friendly, always ready to assist with any queries or requests I had during my stay. One of the highlights of my time at the hostel was the opportunity to meet fascinating and amiable people from all walks of life. It was easy to strike up conversations and make new friends, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and inclusiveness throughout the hostel. However, I must address a significant drawback during my stay—the lack of hygiene in the kitchen. It was disheartening to see that some individuals failed to respect the established norms and principles of this communal area. Their negligence resulted in an untidy and unhygienic environment, which was quite unpleasant for those of us who valued cleanliness and proper maintenance. While the hostel staff cannot be solely held responsible for the behavior of inconsiderate guests, it would be beneficial if they could implement stricter guidelines and monitoring to maintain the kitchen's cleanliness. Regular inspections or reminders about cleanliness could go a long way in ensuring a pleasant experience for all guests. Despite this concern, I appreciated the hostel's other amenities and services. The common areas were cozy and well-maintained, providing ample opportunities for socializing and relaxation. The dormitory rooms were clean and comfortable, and I had no issues with noise or disturbances during my stay.

I honestly considered just sleeping in some bush in Hampstead instead of having to stay here, but then I just decided to pay extra for a better hostel (and I’m glad I did). Don’t book this place, especially if you're alone. It’s dirty and unsafe. The locker wouldn’t fit even the smallest bag and there’s no privacy.

Lovely staff, good drinks and nice atmosphere. The facilities are clean and the pool table and darts are in good condition. The garden is spacious and the clientele are friendly. Overall, a great environment and highly recommend for a fun night out in Tottenham.

The Bar and the staff ar okay, but the hostel might be the worst place i have ever had to rest in. Its low budget, but basically they should pay you to stay there. It filthy, dirty and not recommendable at all. You cant See the rooms before checking in and they dont refund anything once you have checked in. Maybe the government want to rent this place to torture prosoners.

Worst hostel experience I ever had…. Stinky smell all over the place… No ventilation for the rooms… weird people staying in the hostel you will find all the time…Do not surprised if you get the smell of weed passing by any room… filthy toilets (this has to be considered before staying here)… WiFi is not at all gonna work if you are staying on 2nd floor … I tried in the reception area as well and it didn’t worked for me. Overall not a place for humans…

I’m disappointed and very unhappy while im staying there. 1- I call before I arrive many times nobody picked up my call. 2-reception girl in the night at 10:55 was so rude & rising her voice on me.and I think she was drunk. 3- unhealthy & unhygienic places also they do not change bed cover and blanket cover even pillow cover. 4- wifi not working anymore. 5- the payment system is so bad coz they take cash only. It's a not good option for flexible pay. It's makes me problem in midnight find cash. 6- location is scary and all the drunk people stay in this area. One shops owner confirm me as well that hostel not safe for staying. 7- locker is very small. 8- At night time from 11 pm to 3 am they play a high volume of music 🎶 it's affecting my sleeping. This place for me a hell .I paid so I have to stay. if not pay im not gonna stay 1 day even. I'm not going back there anymore. And I suggest all....think about it before booking this hostel.

worst experience of my life. do not choose this place because it costs less, I did it and it was a bad idea, spend € 15 more and book elsewhere. here is my experience: I reserved for three nights and didn't even sleep one. as soon as I enter I am greeted by a terrible stench. there are holes in the floor, the black of the dirt on all the walls and I notice two huge mice on the stairs, the bed had not been changed, the pillow has a brown spot where the head rests, on the mattress there are no sheets but only the mattress cover full of hair and little black bits of I don't know what, the stench in the room is sickening. obviously I support my things and in shock I ask a friend if he can host me at his house for the night. the next morning I go to check out because just the thought of setting foot in this horrible place makes me anxious. I ask if I can get the £ 20 deposit back and kindly ask if we can arrange a refund since I paid for three nights and didn't even sleep one. the fat and dirty gentleman, attacks me at the reception, I am in shock, I am even afraid that he will attack me. Horrible and disgusting place and people!

You get what you pay for. We payed 10£ per night for a bed and we get a bed. The facilities were not the best but everything worked. Some hooks in the bathroom would be nice but not necessary. The big plus ist the stuff. They were wonderful and we had a great luck with the other visitors too. We met the most friendly people and it felt like home a little 😊

Okay so I’d give this place more of a 2.5/5 than a 3. We’ve just finished staying here for two nights and wanted a cheap place really close to Tottenham Hotspur stadium as we were attending an event there. Location: street is quite busy, cars always going down by there even when it’s quite late so not too dodgy bc. Not the newest and fanciest street in the world, but there’s local shops and kebab houses nearby as well as the Severn sisters tube. There’s a pub within the hostel which shuts at 2:30am (at least on a Friday/Saturdays) which meant that we got back to our accommodation a bit earlier to have a pint and a shot before bed. Cleanliness: when reading reviews for this place I was really worried about how clean it was. The truth is, it isn’t particularly. The floorboards have been rubbed away, there’s a need for some new paint and restoration to windows/doors/stairs - however the sheets were clean and so was the bed. It was bearable for two nights, so if you’re looking for a cheap and quick stay it will do. The bathrooms in the hostel aren’t the best, they’re probably the rooms with the most desperate need for a remodel. However, the toilets in the pub are a bit better and we were in and out of the bathroom quickly so it wasn’t a massive issue. Residents: when reading reviews you might see a few mention the possibility of some permanent residents who seem to be living here. We met a really nice bloke who’s been staying in London for over a year, so I’m not sure if this sort of thing is what those other reviews are about. He was really nice, engaged in conversation and most importantly new when to leave us alone haha. Everyone that stayed in our room was quite nice or left us alone. I felt safe in the room and comfortable leaving my belongings there. Staff: lovely, bit overworked though bless them. They were really helpful Overall: Look, it’s £20 a night. If you’re on a real budget, it’s alright for what it is. It’s not going to be the best hostel in the world, but the sheets are clean and there’s a pub downstairs. I’d stay again, but only for a night or two.

I waited with a friend here for hours to check out. One person missed there train because no one was there in reception for the entire morning, someone was scared they were going to miss their flight. We could have done something else rather than waiting for such a long time and getting up early to check out. The reception got fuller and fuller throughout the morning of people waiting to leave but no staff being there.

I had a great stay at this place and it offers a great value. Everything worked as should and I slept soundly every night. The people working there are friendly and helpful. You'll read other reviews and their complaints - honestly I feel like these people write these reviews expecting a high tier hostel experience for the low cost this hostel is offering, and it doesn't work that way. If you're looking for a no-frills, basic hostel experience that doesn't break the bank, this place is a great value. But don't go pay 10£ for a bed and then go complain about the moldy walls or old bathrooms or something. To me that's just silly.

The hostel is very clean (no bedbugs, no dirty floors/bathrooms). You get very good value for the price, the service is outstanding and eventough its not in the centre its very easy to travel. As a 24 year old female solo traveller I felt very safe during my stay.

The worst hostel I have ever stayed in. The hostel has absolutely nothing to do with the photos on the website. The room was dirty, with a window that didn't close (all the cold and noise from the street came in), bunk beds that rattled every time you moved and very old lockers. In addition, the floor moved every time the underground passed underneath and you could hear all the noise from the bar below. The common areas (bathrooms, kitchen) were also dirty and did not have enough space and utensils for the guests.

The bad reviews pretty much sum up our experience at No. 8 Sisters Hostel. Besides the staff being super nice, the place itself is „rough“. Our room smelled quite bad and we had to share it with some ants, who took over the lockers. All the windows were covered in mold, such as the bathrooms/showers. The beds were covered in sheets when we arrived, but even that could‘nt hide the dirty mattresses. The bathrooms looked like they had‘nt been cleaned in a while. You can see signs hanging in every room, that using drugs etc. is prohibited in the rooms, which already speaks for itself. That being said, you could clearly see leftovers of substances in the bathroom. We checked out immediately the next day. The reaction of the staff showed, that guests checking out because all of that seemed to be a frequent thing. This place really wasn‘t for us, but some people seemed to be fine with the described circumstances, nevertheless.

Extremely disappointed and upset with the internal politics practiced by this accommodation. I had a reservation for 2 days in this miserable Hostel, unfortunately for travel reasons I couldn't arrive on the first day of the reservation, I arrived the next day, what my surprise when I go to check-in at the entrance of the Hostel, I was informed that the reservation had been canceled automatically because I didn't show up the day before, so I couldn't stay, I tried in every way possible to explain why I didn't show up on the day of reservation, but they didn't want to know. The most aggravating thing is that an amount of 12 euros was wrongly taken from my credit card, I don't know what, the fact is that I didn't stay at this Hostel. I just don't give less points because I can't, otherwise it would be 0. Stealing in this way and deceiving guests won't go far.

We had ants in our room. Everything was dirty and disgusting. No soap in the toilets, fungus on the walls. Nobody cared and reacted for our comments and complaints. Stay away from here. I have never had such a horrible stay!

The worst place ever. Even half star is too much for that place. There was 4 toilets and 3 showers for 150 guests which is lower than the lowest standards of living. The hostel always smelled like the walls remained in moisture for several years. The ventilation was horrible only one tiny square window for the room and almost no natural lights. There was a couple of suckets for 4 bottom beds and if you were on the top bed you couldn't charge your devices unless you have a a 3 meter long cable or an electricity hub.

Disgusted. Your bar discriminated against a boy with autism whom is no danger to himself or others but refused to let him stay. He was under no influence and in no possession of drugs. Not is he a danger to himself or others. I will be talking to the citizens advice beuro and your poorly trained and mannered staff. Still in shock you could take this boys money and turn him away because of learning difficulties. Would give 0 stars if I could. Your staff need to be trained aswell

The staff was very rude! When it was coming to the end of my evening the bartender was going to table to table getting customers to empty their drinks from glasses into plastic so that he could take them to wash them very bad service plus the price of thongs within the premises is outrages I've never ever paid for alcohol at this outlet. I would never recommend anyone to this place

Stayed 3 days for the weekend. Very good value for money. All the basics you need and general friendly atmosphere. As for connections, 12 minutes walk to underground station and 13 minutes by tube to Oxford Circus, as central as it gets. If you're an aspiring fashion model and 'Live, Laugh, Love', then this might not be the place for you though. 4 stars.

Friendly & Helpfully Kind Guests. I didn't have cash on me to pay for the hostel but a local decided to lend me the money immediately and pay it back when I could get the money. So friendly. Wow never had that kind of friendliness from a complete stranger. Hostel here is also really cheap and great hot showers.

Extremely rude pub staff. We came with kids. At 8pm we were asked to leave which we did but my husband and his friend stayed. They were then kicked out without a reason at 8.06 and threatened with the police. He kept asking what did I do, the kids left can I stay and finish my drink. The lady then took his picture and called the police on him. Very bad experience. If thats how you want to treat customers you won’t have any left. We came with kids, didn’t cause any trouble and didn’t drink too much. Not to mention the names she called him. I do not recommend that place especially if you are going out as a family. He wanted to wait for the police to sort it out and ask them to check CCTV footage as it would show he was calm and the lady was the aggressive one. But we were waiting for him outside and we wanted to go

Definitely the cheapest around London. Friendly staff, would recommend wearing flip flops in the showers. Bedding sheets are super thin but are for the most part fine. Close to supermarkets and alcohol, the rooms are above a bar so you don’t need to go far if you don’t want to ;)

I'm a resident in the local area, yet I had the pleasure of staying there last week during my transition between apartments. The value was remarkable, particularly given the last-minute nature of my booking. The bar staff were exceptional, infusing my stay with a sense of holiday charm despite being close to home.

This is a hostel, so many people expect to come to a hotel like Monte Carlo Sharm El Sheikh 5 stars, but this is not the case. The hostel is not bad, the rooms are OK, but you can always improve. Toilets, bathroom, kitchen are in good condition. The staff is wonderful, I enjoyed chatting with two wonderful girls at the reception, and I was also able to meet a couple of people in the room. Therefore, how to come for a couple of nights and just sleep is just right.
