Awesome Dungar is a scenic spot located near Patanwav village in Dhoraji taluka of Rajkot district in Saurashtra. Nature camps are also organized here [1]. According to the locals, many relics of the Mahabharata period can be found on this historic Awesome Dungar. The Pandavas stayed on Awesome Mountain during their exile. According to his belief, Hidamba also lived on this awesome mountain during the exile of the Pandavas, so Bhima's eye fought with him. During the love affair between the two, Bhima hit Hidamba hard, and Hidamba bounced off the awesome mountain to the foothills. The bones of Hidamba, which fell in the foothills, were broken and hence the name of the village was ruined at this place, which is still present in the foothills today. Apart from this, the temple of Tapkeshwar Mahadev built by the Pandavas as well as a water-filled hodge near it, in which water is constantly dripping from the hill. Apart from this, the Bhima plate in Patangan can be seen even today. However over time this bhim thali has become horizontal. During the period of Awesome Dungar Mahabharata, Matri Mataji was known as Chhatreshwari Mataji. The rocks of this mountain were also known as Makhania mountain as they were straight, flat and smooth. Om + Sam = Awesome mountain is known in the present time as the 3 shaped mountain is visible from the overview. Every year from Bhadarvi Amas, a three-day fair is held in the vicinity of Matri Mataji on Awesome Mountain. The fair is organized by Patanwav Gram Panchayat

This location is ideal for you if you enjoy nature! Because of its surroundings and natural beauty, "Osam hill is wonderful." Really lovely and lush, the path leads up to the hill. The surroundings and clean air make the journey enjoyable. You might also come across some animals if you're fortunate. A little yet spectacular waterfall can be found there if you visit during the rainy season. Your perception of heaven is enhanced by the beauty of the paths on the hill (if you like granary). There are temples of goddess, one Jain temple, and waterfall and much more. But the natural scenery here is just amazing. The place is very much refreshing and wonderful to visit. Also there is a canteen for fast food and cold drinks and many other stalls of Pani puris. But, yes there is no facility to take lunch, so you have to manage it. Otherwise, it is worth to visit there once, and then you will be tempted to go there next time. And yes, it is completely free to visit, you will not have to pay to visit any of the places there accept for fast food.

One of my favorite places in Gujarat. Less crowded and unexplored place. Best choice for one day trip with friends and family. Monsoon is the best time to visit here. From the beginning up to the top of the hill one will find many waterfalls, ponds and eye soothing greenery. Enjoy your monsoon here!!!

Awesome place for one day trip too good there is a shiv temple and Jain temple on the hill and good place to relax and about 400 steps to climb the hill

Osam hill is located at Patanwav village of Dhoraji. This place is also known as Hidamba van. This mountain is full of natural beauty and blossoms in the monsoon season, A small hill can be climbed very easily, the car cannot go up to that point Apart from Hill, Tapkeshwar Mahadev temple is also situated here in which pure water is constantly dripping from the hill hence There the small holly kund is always filled with water. It is believed that this temple has been built by the Pandavas

Junagadh district is full of auch natural places where you can go for small hike or track, take bath in stream water or just have family time. beautiful hill station known for a waterfall during monsoon. it is active during rain. I highly recommend this place for nature lovers. for gathiya lovers, can visit girnar gathiya 6 km from this for delicious soft gathiyas with green chutney and curd. don't miss this.

We visited this hill on 24/07/22. Worth visit in monsoon season. If anyone lives near around saurashtra region then they must explore this beautiful hill. It takes one single day. There are two different way to reach at the top of hill one is new one and another is a bit old one. So i suggest to all to opt new one as it haves side railings to keep hand grip and easy also. It takes half an hour to reach at top of hill.

After some climbing nice view of mountains and valley, there is a Godess temple on the way there they do have prasad facility and place to rest, after that there is a pond situated on the mountain, it's fabulous to see a pond after reaching such a height. Drinking Water is free at temple but advice to carry ur own supply. Also keep some food to eat. Best for one day picnic.

Perfect place for weekend and devoted minds. Good surroundings are there. You can get to know about History from old stories too. If planning for the tracking, keep required water and food alongside.

There are so many places are there to explore. Personally i liked bhim ki thali and tapkeshwar mahadev mandir the most. One can see water fall at tapkeshwar mahadev in rainy season. There are 5 small lakes in this hill range. This hill range is shaped in om shape. Thats why its name called as osam hill.

Amazing place to visit. There's an awesome hill and the views from the top are just next level. To reach up to the top, there's trekking and steps, walking through the deep forest and it would definitely be mesmerizing while it's raining.

It's wonderful green mountain. It is full package of one day weekend. You carry on foods and snacks for eating their and enjoy with natural environment. Do not litter anywhere. Take the waste with you and dispose of it where there is a waste bin
