How can I describe my experience on Erakor Island … unforgettable ! At our arrival to ACTUAL paradise, we were welcomed by beautiful Lita and got our welcome drink made of fresh fruits. We stayed in the beach villa, which is perfect ! Directly on a little beach, we woke up and walked straight in the water for some snorkelling and ate the BEST BANANAS and passion fruit, which was left in our room as a welcome gift. Kids were well looked after, the food was delicious, you will find the best snorkelling in the lagoon right in front of the island, great entertainment, water sports, but most importantly, the prime example of a 5 star hospitality service. Unfortunately, our stay got interrupted by 2 uninvited, annoying guests called: Cyclone Judy, followed by the even more powerful cyclone Kevin 24h later (something that has never happened before). You can’t control nature, but you can control your outlook on life. This was meant to happen and changed our trip to Vanuatu into a real experience full of love, care and resilience. The management of the hotel ensured we were aware of the situation before the first cyclone and explained clearly and calmly the procedure in case of emergency/ evacuation. Something that was not done in other hotels. Even through very strong winds and heavy rain, BOSS JOSUA ran to our villa with breakfast and water prepared by the beautiful chef (also BOSS) Lydia. We did not expect such care and thoughtfulness during such dangerous weather, but our comfort and safety was always their priority. You do not have this kind of service everywhere, the team at Erakor Island is exceptional. It is managed by professional, competent and hard working locals, which makes such a difference in the authenticity of the place. Lorelle (also BOSS) took care of us from day one until our departure from Vanuatu. We realised how lucky we were at Erakor Island and how it is the best resort in Port Vila, as other hotels around there are not managed by locals and a lot less authentic. On Erakor Island, there is a sense of community, welcomeness, caring and loving people, which makes such a difference in a holiday. I would like to sincerely thank EVERYONE on Erakor Island, all the people that have made our holiday an unforgivable and unique experience. The “boys” who made sure we were transported from the island and back safely. The kitchen staff that made sure we were well fed, even during the cyclone. The management and entertainment that made sure we felt welcomed and proposed a variety of activities. The housekeeping that took care of our room and areas of the island. To Lita, her son Siri and all her family for welcoming us into her village and allowing us to visit. Please go and stay at Erakor Island Resort at any time of the year, cyclone season or not. This place will become your home away from home no matter the situation and you will NOT want to leave. We will 100% be back for some Kava night laughters and more memories. I am also on a quest to find the Dugongs of the lagoon haha ! THANK YOU TOMAS !!!! Marilyne

Spent 6 nights on the island, enjoyed every one of them. The staff were so friendly and kind, made us feel very welcome. The restaurant was great, with the Melanesian Feast night being the highlight for me - delicious! The service from Cliff in particular was fantastic. Other highlights for me: - keeping all the windows open, feeling the breeze and sleeping to the sound of the waves all night. - snorkelling on the reef right in front of the room. - kayaking around the island and up the lagoon. - watching the sunset from the deck.

Absolutely loved our time on the island and will be back for sure. The staff were super friendly & caring and it felt so safe for my daughters to just cruise around the island on their own. Super easy to get on and off the island to go and do activities, and everything a parent needs for both a family holiday and a bit of "me" time.

If you want a high adrenaline fast action based holiday don’t stay at Erakor Island. If you want to relax by the ocean or pool in the most beautiful place in the world then this is the place for you. Everything about this island is magical. I didn’t want to leave. Frazer and the rest of the staff are the most amazing people ever. Do yourself a favour and stay here for a few nights at least.

I went to visit the island resort for one day. I was welcomed by customer officer Natalie, who showed me the island and different options of accommodation, facilities, and recreation choices. I enjoyed it very much and I recommend the island to anyone who wants peace, the sound of the calm waves, swimming in crystal clear water, and all aquatic sports – plus the choices in abundance. The island is spectacular and has a wonderful laid back feel. The staff are amazing, and the manager Kristy is also super nice. So there is a guarantee that you will love every minute you spend at the resort. Also Vanuatu is an amazing place for families as it is safe, relaxing and has so many great activities. Highly recommended. The people from Vanuatu are so genuine, honest and thoughtful, so the people and the culture are the highlight also. Ana July 2023

We had the amazing pleasure of eloping to this magical island resort and spending our honeymoon there. What a magical environment. As soon as you arrive you are relaxed and switched on to Island Time. The rooms were very nice, clean and modern. The staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. Always a pleasure to see their beautiful smiling faces. The restaurant was also good with delicious fresh food. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway for two or even a family holiday, this venue was jaw dropping for us. We can't wait to go back ❤️

I had the most incredible and unforgettable experience at this stunning resort, even if it was just for one night. From the moment we set foot on the sandy shores, we were captivated by the picturesque seaside, mesmerized by the colorful starfishes and fishes dancing in the crystal-clear sea. However, what truly made this stay an absolute dream were the exceptional staff members who went above and beyond to make our time here magical. Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted by Lita, one of the resort's exceptional staff members. Throughout our stay, she showered us with the most genuine and friendly hospitality, making us feel like cherished guests. Not only did she ensure our dinner was a delightful experience, but she also took the time to arrange our ferry and taxi to the airport. I adored the moments we shared during our little chats, and it became apparent that she was an experienced professional who truly cared about our comfort and happiness. Then there was Kelvin, who took us on a fabulous island tour. His knowledge about the island was vast, and he enthusiastically shared fascinating insights about every corner we explored. It's these moments of connection that make a journey so meaningful. Lastly, I must express my deepest gratitude to Kaycee at the reception. With unwavering patience and efficiency, she assisted us in reaching out to the airport and confirming our flight to Tanna. It turned out to be a challenge due to flight cancellations and delays, but Kaycee was our guiding light during those uncertain times. Thanks to her, we could finally embark on our Tanna adventure, and I can't thank her enough for making it happen. I can't emphasize enough how incredible these staff members are. They truly embody the spirit of hospitality and genuine care for their guests. The memories of this stay, even though brief, will remain etched in my heart forever. This resort is an absolute gem, not just because of its stunning location and amenities but primarily because of the amazing people who work tirelessly to make it the best experience possible. If you're looking for a place that will touch your heart and soul, look no further. This is the resort you've been dreaming of. A heartfelt thank you to Lita, Kelvin, Kaycee, and the entire resort team for creating memories that I will treasure for a lifetime. I cannot wait to return and experience this slice of paradise once more!

Did a day visit (1500 vatu per adult, and you get 1000 vatu back each to spend at the restaurant) in the late afternoon. Really tranquil, idyllic setting, lovely clean water and small bay for swimming and snorkelling, and the restaurant is in a beautiful location. Definitely worth a visit.

Prior to having our wedding on Erakor we had visited and stayed 4times previous. Each time, the service, rooms and food were impeccable!!! Making the decision to have our wedding there a no brainer. I am Coeliac as are 4other friends who attended our wedding. This was not a problem for the chef and his amazing staff, they did the entire menu, from canapés to mains, the wedding cake and everything in between, totally gluten free. Without doubt, the day ran so smoothly thanks to the AMAZING Wedding Co-ordinator Lita. She makes sure EVERY detail is taken care of, leaving us so very confident and relaxed, allowing us and our guests to enjoy our day, and party the night away. As our best man Sal said, “ who would have thought, this beautiful little island in the South Pacific, with its warm hearted, equally beautiful, competent staff would be the backdrop for the best wedding ever!!!” So be it you are vacationing, getting married or whatever it may be, I/we cannot recommend Erakor Island Resort and Spa, strongly enough. It truly is a magical slice of paradise. We are so looking forward to being back on the island very soon! ♥️♥️♥️

Great relaxed spot to spend the day with family in Vila. Very safe with snorkeling (certainly not the best in Vanuatu, but unique with the starfish), swimming pool, playground, restaurant and various activities for both day visitors and hotel guests alike. Definitely recommend especially for families and those with younger children

The staff at Erakor Island Resort are the most genuinely nice, happy and accommodating people I've ever met. The resort was beautiful and I can't wait to come back in July. They made our wedding day more perfect than we ever could have imagined. I highly recommend this resort for families, couples and singles of all ages.

We visited for the day to go snorkeling and have lunch at the restaurant. The snorkeling is perfect for a family with kids. So many amazing colourful fish amongst the coral. The restaurant is as good as it gets. The food was the best we've had in Vanuatu, the service was so friendly and the views are tropical paradise. Just wish we'd booked 'this' resort.

Amazing stay at Erakor Island. If you go to Vanuatu, this resort is highly recommended. There is no impossible things to do for a local stuff members, they really care about you during your stay. Went for the own catch today while snorkelling at the reef and the kitchen chefs cooked a fantastic meal for us❤️ One of unforgettable moments for sure 🥰 Thank you Erakor Island 🙏 📸 @kallarroocaptures

We took the kids and stayed for 2 weeks. This was our third trip to Vanuatu but the first time for the kids. We'd never stayed at Erakor Island previously. The resort is great, the local staff were fantastic (all Ni-Vanuatu are!) and the location is excellent. The ferry across from the mainland runs on demand and only usually has a very short wait. There are nearly always buses or taxis waiting on the other side for wherever you want to go. There's always something for the kids to do with activities and facilities catering for all ages. The place we stayed in was the Aqua Blue beach house. Unfortunately, it's starting to show a bit of wear-and-tear, but overall, was still very comfortable to stay in and the positioning with your own little beach was great. We'd definitely stay at Erakor Island Resort again.

Fabulous being back to our favourite resort. It really is paradise starting with the ferry ride across the lagoon. Absolute waterfront bungalow with the warm water 3 metres from our deck. Staff are very friendly and welcoming, making you feel special. We bought the Go Troppo package which we felt was good value and included two meals. We also booked the Chef's Special Dinner on the overwater cabana again being treated very special. Ate at the resort for the whole 8 nights which was so convenient. The only minor negative was toiletries which only consists of tiny hand soap and a small, quarter filled travel size bottle of combined hair shampoo/conditioner. No tissues, just toilet paper. A small thing but not up to industry standards. So relaxing sitting on our deck overlooking the water and never turned the tv on at all.

Gorgeous relaxing stay with excellent snorkeling and swimming. Staff are lovely. Easy trips over to the mainland all day and night. Usually a van there to take you into town or the markets.

Spent a night here and was very disappointed by the state of the reef and fish life. What made things worse was a massive 50hp outboard for a 3 min journey across a tranquil lagoon. Wifi was non existent from the rooms.

Beautiful lsland with nice views around the island. Very good service there and we just love it. A very nice pool with a beautiful view, good to bring children there because the kids clubs is very cool and lastly is the front view and food there is just beyond your imagination.

This fabulous resort has sumptuous dinners, a wonderful Melanesian night and a family friendly movie night. You can borrow the kayaks and snorkel gear as part of your room package, which also includes breakfast. We'll be back.

Extremely difficult to communicate with the people at Erakor Island I have a credit and they don’t want me to use it. I have a credit due to non availability of flights and they refuse to ring back or email me Sorry but I can’t recommend this resort!

Stayed for 6 nights and enjoyed our time, staff are incredibly friendly and helpful the island grounds were well maintained, included breakfast had a large variety and the included kayaks and water sport were great to explore the surrounding reefs. We did stay post covid and some of the facilities such as the kids playground and buildings could use a little maintenance, our room hot water for showers would only work when the bathroom tap was also running but hopefully these issues are fixed with the return of income.

A great place to stay for locals or holiday makers. Easy to visit for a day visit just park near the jetty beside Le Lagoon. Not the best snorkeling in Vanuatu but still a relaxing atmosphere, quality facilities and nice swimming. Kids will love the playground and adults will love the food and cocktails

Fantastic experience and holiday. The staff are very friendly and great at helping with anything you need. The island is set up extremely well, from wedding services to snorkling anywhere safely around the island. I would highly recommend and have many great memories on this island resort. Would be going again one day.

Had a fantastic relaxing holiday. Staff were amazing and so was the service. We snorkeled the lagoon, went kayaking, walked around the island (look out for a very quaint open roof church in the middle of the island - ideal for weddings), and enjoyed a true Vanuatu hospitality. Restaurant service was first class (recommend the local fish. Dessert is to die for) The rooms were well kept, tidy and clean. Very surprising for such a small island. We loved our stay there and would definitely come back

What a tropical paradise! Staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful. Rooms are beautifully kept and I'd say 90% have stunning water views. Grounds are lush. Restaurant is good, cocktails are delicious. Great watersport facility and beaches. Love it, don't want to go home!

The resort was quite nice, boat ride to the island is a good novelty the first few times but loses its appeal. The restaurant is OK, staff were mostly helpful for everything we needed which wasn't much. I'd still recommend it if you want a secluded break that caters pretty well for kids

We came over for a day trip from Port Villa and we were incredibly impressed with what was on offer here! The staff were so friendly and watched our little girl and painted shells with her while we were close by! The food was fantastic and we were so lucky to enjoy what the ocean door step had to offer in the way of star fish etc. The pool was fantastic too! Thanks so much 😊

Stayed here for 4 nights with our 3 kids. Absolutely wonderful experience. Our children loved the kids club. The activities were varied enough to keep them entertained during our stay. Food was slow coming out, and we had some frustration that the kid's meals were sometimes served 30 minutes before the adults. There's a limit to how patient kids can be. But, the people are wonderful and the room clean and well maintained.

Heaven on earth! We had our wedding at Erakor island resort in 2019, its truly magnificent place. The staff are always happy to see you, they were very particular with everything we requested for the wedding service and reception. The accommodation was 5 star and the island its self is well maintained and picturesque. We have booked to return for our anniversarys

This is such a great place. Its a little slice of heaven. The staff are some of the friendliest I've ever met, the location is brilliant, the food is delicious, we had such a great week holiday and can't recommend it enough.

We stayed as a family of 5, and fell in love with the place and the people that work there. We felt at home straight away, and can’t recommend it highly enough. Plenty to do on the island. With the guest services running different events all the time, Or relaxing on the many beaches, playing sports, pools, snorkelling, and much more. The staff go above and beyond. A few minutes from port villa, but just enough away for the seclusion.

Went for a day trip dinner, service massively slow, asked for mains to come 3 times, understand post covid (hence 2 stars and not 1) but they shouldn’t keep accepting customers if they can’t keep up. Price not cheap - equivalent a la carte Australia, reasonable to expect asking 3 waiters to get the meal out please would be a subtle hint and avoid the need for this review.

We were there as day pass visitors and it was an amazing experience.I've been there couple of times for dine in and never been dissappointed about their food.Always nice food. And also I should mention about the staff there.Everyone is so nice and helpful with a smile on their faces.Specially the F&B manager/the supervisor(sorry, cant remember his name) is very funny and friendly.Had a good swim in the pool and their nice beach.Washrooms were clean but I think there should be someone to clean it always. As it wad little dirty when I used it for the second time and my husband said that men's washroom was bit filthy.Overall it was an amazing experience at Erakor Resort.Highly recommend for day pass visitors

Magical place! Great day guest location for expats looking for a place to take their kids as there are a host of activities that the kids can enjoy. Will definitely be back here again.

Included breakfast was poor. It was noisy and difficult to sleep at nights. Restaurant food was very average and expensive. Accommodation was very average for price paid. Island was beautiful - Clean and unspoilt and staff were generally friendly

Great resort with extremely friendly staff that will do whatever necessary to make your stay comfortable. Great for a family, couples or anyone that loves to be by the water to relax, swim, snorkel, fishing, kayaking, sunset cruises etc. Big range of accom for all budgets. I recommend.

Just spent 6 days at Erakor Island Resort with my 2 daughters and it exceeded all expectations. The swimming pool is one of the best resort pools that I have ever seen, private and has stunning views, the restaurant/bar over the water is picturesque, the gorgeous swimming beach is safe for swimming and snorkling. The complimentary boat ride between resort and main land was fun and easy. I felt extremely safe there. But the biggest asset of the resort is their staff. They were so friendly and kind and helpful. We were looked after so well. Thankyou Cliff, Natalie and Fraser for your amazing service! You and all the Erakor team made it the best holiday I could have imagined.
