A nice place for half a day walk around, specially if you like to see some Russian armor from the cold war era . if you walk 10 minutes there are coffee shops and restaurants available and the largest book store in Tehran with lots of varieties . One of the best museum I ve ever met in Iran. Very well designed and implemented. Staff are so professional, well educated, polite n kind. Mostly speak fluent english, you can see different aspect of war from tehran bombing till waling in Khorramshahr after occupied by Iraq. Defiantly one of recommended places in Tehran to spend some time there. There are god amount of parking spot around and so close to other places such as book garden and nature bridge.

Free entry One of the best museums I have been to In the world!(this is country 131 for me by the way) slightly tricky to find the entrance (look for the ship models outside, then go in and go to the first floor) Very engaging museum, single direction. Staff are everywhere, polite and have clear instruction in English.

One of the most "unique" museum in Tehran. Introduced history of Iran-Iraq war from the viewpoint of Iran. Amazingly sofisticated, somewhat infographic exbision you will see inside, while outside there are a lot of actual fighters, tanks, weapons used in the war (it's free to visit the garden only). If you are interested in war history and or military issues, this is absolutely "where you should go" spot. You can use subway from Central City, it is walking distance from station to the museum. I recommend.

The museum presents visitors with the war with Iraq, when Saddams Baathist regime attacked the newly established Islamic Republic, aiming to seize control over predominantly arab Kuzestan region. Expect to be presented with purely Iranian view of the conflict, which emphasizes martyrdom, heroism and honour of Iranian cause, as well as with a bearable portion of anti western propaganda.

Horrible service horrible management I saw many people walking around looking disappointed who is responsible of this mess ? As a tourist that I bring dollar to spend at my birth place I was never got disappointed like this at least they could send a text message to avoid people to show up very disappointing

The garden of the Holy Defense Museum is located in the lands of Abbas Abad. This museum garden with an infrastructure of 205,000 square meters (including landscaping) is a rare and spectacular complex. Taking advantage of the mixed view of artists' art, this collection presents images of Khorramshahr's resistance (from the moment of occupation, defense and liberation) to the visitors.

It is the largest war museum in the Islamic world and the most modern museum in West Asia. It is one of Tehran's tourist attractions, which, along with collections such as the Tehran Book Garden, the National Library of Iran, the Islamic Republic of Iran's academies, the Imam Khomeini Mosque and Art Garden, is the cultural center of Tehran. The lands of Abbas Abad (Tehran) have been built. It is one of the largest garden museums in the country, which consists of various parts such as the eight halls, Rah garden, artificial lake, water show, amphitheater and panoramic halls, and by using digital technologies, we try to It conveys the concepts of the history of the Islamic Revolution and holy defense. The first CEO of the museum was Sardar Javad Khedraei Rad.
