A somewhat confusing historical site that leaves you with mixed feelings. A castle supposedly (source Wikipedia) constructed during Parthian time, thus around 2000 years old, should be a major tourist hotspot. However, it seems like the site is not being taken care of. Apart from the stairs leading to the top of the rock, there is just nothing. No signs, no explanation.. This place would definitely have some potential, though it's already worth visiting now, considering the stunning views on Tehran it offers.

Look at how Tehran leaders leave broken Persian legacy that is filled with pure history and compare it with the beduoins at Riyadh and how they are showing the world all of their historic cities

Unless you go there during ‘tourist season’ (around the beginning of spring aka Persian new year holidays), you’ll see some unpleasant sights (including drug addicts). But if you go there at the right time, you’ll be greeted by a nice view of Rey and southern Tehran and be able to climb up the mountain (there used to be a castle on it, now there are only stairs to climb). I personally enjoyed visiting the site as the weather was pleasant and I was accompanied by good friends.

In order to understand the vastness of the city of Ray and Tehran, you must visit here. You get a strange feeling when you look around from there. It is as if you are traveling to the heart of ancient history. Definitely, watching in the fresh air has the best quality and atmosphere. For example, during the days of Eid or during the clean weather days of the rest of the year, especially if it is in winter and there is snow on the mountains, it will have a dreamy and wonderful view. Don't expect a historical environment that is valued and cared for and monitored at all. You will come across an empty and abandoned area. You can go to the fort from anywhere around it. The best way is the stairs next to the park. The stairs are worn and dangerous. You have to be careful. Garbage and trash are also floating around. There was also a guard room, but there was no trace of the guard. Preferably, don't go alone and in quiet times. You can't count on the security of the place. Several stages of exploration have been carried out, the last of which was a few years ago. The obtained objects and works are also in the National Museum. It is a pity that it is not paid attention to. A work that every country aspires to have in order to show off its history is orphaned here.

Rashkan fortress is located near Safaiye Shahrari and Cheshme Ali hill. This fortress with a structure consisting of rubble and Saroj belongs to the Ashkanian period

If you are interested in ancient sites, it will be interesting for you. You can also see a view of Ray city and the cement factory at the top of the fortress stairs.

There is a small mountain, and to climb it, they made stairs out of wood and scaffolding, and they steal the wood at night, making it difficult to go up and down.
