Sadegh
Hedayat
was
one
of
the
famous
contemporary
writers
who
was
born
in
Tehran
in
1281
Shamsi
and
spent
most
of
his
life
in
this
house.
His
father,
Atizad
al-Mulk,
was
one
of
the
nobles
of
the
Qajar
period,
and
probably,
the
house
in
question
was
built
by
his
order.
Hedayat
House
is
located
on
Saadi
St.,
Shahid
Taqvi
St.,
next
to
Amir
Alam
Hospital
in
Tehran
and
can
be
identified
by
the
name
of
Sadeghieh
Kindergarten.
The
decorations
and
the
size
of
the
building
show
the
wealth
of
those
who
lived
there,
and
the
form
and
structure
are
according
to
the
style
of
the
late
Qajar
period.
In
the
southern
part
of
the
building
and
around
the
southern
courtyard,
colored
glazed
tiles
with
beautiful
and
original
patterns
with
dimensions
of
20
x
20
cm
and
a
height
of
120
cm
have
given
a
special
beauty
to
the
house.
In
some
parts
of
these
tilings,
the
images
of
soldiers
with
special
clothing
of
the
Qajar
era
can
be
seen.
Also,
in
the
front
of
the
building,
tiling
and
wooden
tools
have
doubled
the
beauty
of
the
building.
Hedayat
House
is
located
in
the
central
part
of
the
building,
the
main
hall
measuring
6
x
4
meters,
with
a
two-meter
deep
porch
in
front
of
it,
creates
a
beautiful
view
of
this
main
hall
towards
the
wide
northern
yard.
The
northern
courtyard
of
the
building
also
has
a
pleasant
and
beautiful
environment,
and
its
landscaping
and
gardens,
following
the
Iranian
landscaping
pattern,
have
symmetry
and
a
central
water
feature,
and
most
likely,
the
water
from
the
aqueduct
entered
it
from
the
north
of
the
courtyard.
The
source
of
water
supply
was
this
building,
which
is
now
blocked.
The
dimensions
of
the
yard
are
37
x
25
meters,
and
its
additions
include
the
open
amphitheater
at
the
northeast
end
and
the
motor
house
in
this
section.
Surrounding
the
northern
courtyard
are
the
perimeter
walls
of
the
house,
which
have
beautiful
frames
to
avoid
monotony.
The
main
structure
of
the
building
is
based
on
thick
walls,
brick
bearing
of
one
fabric
and
bricks
are
used
in
its
core.
The
covering
of
different
underground
parts
is
in
the
form
of
a
curved
arch
and
the
covering
of
the
first
floor
is
made
flat
and
with
wooden
beams,
which
has
been
given
beauty
by
a
decorative
molding.
But
the
final
covering
of
the
building
is
a
gable.
Sadegh
Hedayat's
father's
house
is
a
beautiful
house
with
Qajar
architecture
that
was
built
before
the
revolution.
It
will
become
a
museum
to
display
Sadegh
Hedayat's
relics.
This
house
was
confiscated
with
the
victory
of
the
Islamic
Revolution
and
was
given
to
Tehran
University
of
Medical
Sciences.
Then,
it
was
used
as
a
kindergarten
and
for
some
time
the
staff
of
Amir
Alam
Hospital
and
other
parts
of
the
University
of
Medical
Sciences
benefited
from
its
services.
Sadegh
Hedayat's
house
was
finally
evacuated
at
the
request
of
Iranian
literature
lovers,
and
in
1378,
it
was
registered
in
the
list
of
national
works
of
Iran
by
the
Cultural
Heritage
Organization
with
number
2491.
