Vaikom is a well-known town in Kerala. It carries a lot of history. But Vakom has no development according to its fame. Still has the narrow roads, uncompleted bridges, poor planning, etc.

Set against the backdrop of a majestic bund, this place effortlessly merges urban charm with nature's tranquility. The bund, with its picturesque views of the cityscape, provides a stunning panorama that soothes the mind. A leisurely stroll along the bund, accompanied by the rhythmic flow of the water, offers a sense of calm and clarity. The vibrant energy of the surrounding city is balanced by the serene waters, creating a harmonious environment. Whether enjoying the sunset or embracing the city lights reflected on the water, this location promises a refreshing escape for a rejuvenated state of mind.

Vaikom is the oldest township in Kottayam district, and among the oldest in South India. The Vaikom Shiva Temple, known as Thekkan Kashi (Southern Kashi), is the heart of the town, and is remarkable for the Vaikom Ashtami celebrations during November. Vaikom was believed to be a part of a kingdom called Venmalanadu in the past. When Venmalanadu was split into Vadakkumkoor and Thekkumkoor, it became part of Vadakkumkoor dynasty.

Vaikom Mahadeva temple is one of the majestic temples in South Kerala. The architecture and history goes back to 2000 years. The routes to reach there have narrow roads. Otherwise the journey was great. Near temple you won't find any good restaurants.

Beautiful, budding town encompassing all the lush green nature of Kerala. Good hotels and tourist spots equipped with best amenities. Literate people who can speak English and Malayalam fluently. Temples that reflect the Dravidian culture.
