Don't bother getting a guided tour here. They should call it a guarded tour instead. They basically herd everyone into rooms for a few minutes each then rush everyone to the next room, zero info given. You're not even really allowed to look at the beautiful objects because they just tell everyone to move into the next room. Pity because its a good collection in lovely rooms. You learn more from Wikipedia than the guides who act like they hate their jobs. Save your money and just check out the wonderful chapel and garden which are free.

An undiscovered cool and quiet respite amongst the hustle and bustle of the streets of Rome. Access to the courtyard gardens is free and a perfect place to sit for a while on the shaded benches and relax while walking between the many tourist hot spots. You can pay to enter the church, but you can see into the church from the gardens and some of the mosaic stone work is displayed on the walls of the garden.

Access to the courtyard is free, a nice quiet place. Museum ticket is combined with the ticket to the top level of Vittoriano. Neither are very interesting. The museum is pretty boring. Some minor terracotta models by Bernini.

From start to finish a bad experience. It starts with the confusing situation at the entrance, there is no information in English and the staff is annoyed when asked about information. You can’t visit the sparse exhibition , mostly just empty rooms ,(where there is a lot of stuff just laying around) on your own but rather have to wait for 1/2 hours and have to listen to a guide who speaks only Italian for 45 minutes straight. Total waste of time! Trust me and spend your time elsewhere. The only good thing is the freely accessible garden.

I lover this museum, its not that big, but has a lot to show. Formerly the residence for cardinals, the seat for the Austrian ambassador to the Vatican, office of Benito Mussolini...and now a beautiful National Museum 🇮🇹 P.S. In late 2010, the secret bunker of Mussolini was found beneath the building. Note: no elevator for a stroller (you’ll need to care the stroller up to the 2rd floor) Note2: free entrance every first Sunday of the month (as well as other municipal museums)

The Information was not very helpful, We waited nearly an hour for entrance, which included a grouped Tour which was only in Italian. The rooms were mostly empty and boring. Best thing about it was that we didnt have to pay because of the Tickets from the elevator of the Monument. Waste of time.

(Translated by Google) For me as a tour guide it is always an honor, really, to be able to show my tourists when this building is iconic for Rome. In fact, from an architectural point of view, Palazzo Venezia is a historical bridge between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, a building built in the fifteenth century following the novelties of the time but also still having all medieval characteristics (such as the corner tower or the battlements). Here lived the powerful Pope Paul II, who in the fifteenth century was a very powerful man but, above all, a great lover of the arts and patron, as well as a collector. Perhaps this is the origin of the idea of allocating some rooms of this historic building (for centuries a reference point of the Roman Carnival but also the seat of the Grand Council of Fascism from whose balcony Mussolini used to harangue the crowd) not only for libraries and institutions , but also a beautiful and eclectic museum. The collection is very varied, both for artefacts on display and for centuries of history, and embraces different artistic styles. We have medieval works of art, such as the classic wooden crucifixes, but also splendid caskets worked in ivory of Byzantine derivation, preparatory sketches in terracotta or bronze of the seventeenth century, canvases of the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries, Renaissance frescoes moved from the original building (destroyed in the past ) and translated here. A compendium of art and beauty for a museum to be visited and enjoyed, and a palace to be admired.

Very stunning museum, has an incredible collection, lots of works of art to see. Various statues, paintings, monuments, artifacts and lovely rooms. This place is very big with lots to see and so, I really enjoyed my time here. It was very historical and educational, I would love to come back sometime. I would definitely recommend visiting this place.

The garden is free to enter. It has chairs and is a nice place to sit and relax. The museum has interesting exhibits and was worth entering to see Mussolinis rooms. However, there is a lot of unused space, which makes it feel that you are not getting a full experience. I was pleased to have gone, but left feeling somewhat unsatisfied. The route is poorly laid out. Corridors lead to dead ends, and you had to double back without knowing where to go next. Staff were welcoming and helpful. There was no queue. The ticket also gives you entrance to the Central Museum of the Risorgimento, which is ten minutes walk away.

The exterior of this Palazzo facing the Victorio Emanuel II holds the window and balcony with two flags where Mussolini held many of his speeches including the one declaring war on Britain and France. It is easy to walk by and not know what this is but it's worthwhile to know this from a historical perspective. It's pretty unassuming, but elegant enough. Imagine this Fascist dictator projecting his will on the people from this balcony. Gives you chills. Definite must see for me anyways.

This is the perfect spot to get away from the busy city for just a moment and relax under the trees and enjoy the quiet and the views of the little square. Ideal to sit down on one of the benches and have a (self brought) drink or small lunch.

I’m sorry to give it a low rating, but they have created an experience that it not 5 stars for visitors. I visited on a Saturday at 4pm, and they require you to have a guided experience but only offer it in Italian. This was okay for me, but it’s absurd that a huge museum in Rome on a Saturday would only allow and require Italian guided tours. Self guided tours were not allowed. Also, there are no signs at the ticket booth with information, you must ask for any information or details you’d like. The tour starts in the garden, but there are again no signs or declarations of what will happen and when. The tour guide basically rushes you through the palace and museum with no time to stop and look. This is not an exaggeration, but we were walked through the museum part and not allowed to stop and look at the art that was inside. So many nice pieces were inside, but you are not allowed to stop and look them, and that is absurd 🤣 Also, at the beginning we asked where the bathrooms were. They told us that the bathrooms were inside. So we proceeded to have our visit and were rushed through everything and at the end we asked where the bathrooms were and they told us that they were sorry but that the bathrooms were somewhere inside but it was too late now so we’d have to leave the premises to use the bathroom. Also, for such an important and critical place to the fascist period of italy, there was little to almost nothing about this. There was a sign in a room that said the fascist government began and ended there, but nothing else at all. The people were kind, but a place of such significance has so many things to improve just to provide simple services and experiences. A recommendation, they could guide people through the palace portion and then allow them to enjoy the museum part at their own pace. Thankfully the ticket includes the elevator to the top of the Altar of the Fatherland!

This museum can be visited in the Roma city pass. This in near the capitoline hill and in the piazza venezia square. There is not much of collection but whatever is available is very well presented. The hall with ancient type of painting is huge but requires us to read or hear about it. Knight’s armory collection is good

What can I say, there are rooms with wonderful frescoed and wooden ceilings; floors and corridors in precious marble; fine chandeliers. There is a lot of astrology in the museum for those who can see the details. (Original) Giardino accessibile sempre ben curato.

The entrance to the National Museum of Palazzo Venecia is included in the ticket to the Altare Dr la Patria. More than the items displayed in the museum, I found interesting the building itself, the beautiful atrium and nice ornamental ceilings with chandeliers.

What a mini oasis of quiet, calm, greenery and tranquility in the heart of the busy Eternal city. I love this place, especially knowing that this is the very place where the founding Jesuits gained relationship and blessing of Pope Paul III instituting them as the Society of Jesus in 1540

The garden is free and you can watch wild parakeets in the shade. The first few huge halls are pretty but empty, but the museum saves the best for last - an armory of medieval and viking equipment. The ticket also gives you access to the museum and lift in the altar of forefathers! Just go up the big white stairs.

I personally found this museum okay, but it by far didn't belong to my favourite sights. We had access to it as it was part of another sight but I wouldn't recommend spending 10 euros just for this. Some parts are interesting but audio guide and signs are only revealing semi interesting information. If you're short on time, skip this one!

Not a great experience here. They don't accept Roma Pass even though the Roma Pass info says they do. Probably not their fault but the women in the ticket office was very rude. Sat in the courtyard for a bit. A male member of staff came out and shouted at a girl who was standing on the grass taking a photograph of the fountain. There were a couple of signs saying keep off the grass but they were tiny and not visible from where she was. All the shouting and clapping hands was aggressive, completely over the top and a quiet word was all that was necessary. It seems like the staff needs some training in customer service.

Superb building with an amazing history, from the Venetian Embassy, to the Hapsburg Embassy to Mussolini's center of government and office. It was outstanding views and rooms. I was a little disappointed because the very large rooms, e.g. Mussolini's office, was stripped and it is a huge empty room... but amazing regardless. I was told that the balcony he spoke from, which you can see through glass doors, has a key lock to symbolize that time has passed and will not come back.

(Translated by Google) Literally huge rooms, thousands of square meters, and mostly empty. What a pity, it could have served as a hospital, school, I have no idea, student residence, nursing home, etc. No interest as a museum. Moreover, throughout the museum, we did not meet a visitor.

It's a bit empty. I disliked the "decoration" (emblems) done by the Mussolini's r party in the 20s.

(Translated by Google) Impressive halls of Pope Paul II, the collection of paintings is rather mediocre, at most half a dozen really good works. Very nice baroque portraits in pastel. Good sacred works from the late Middle Ages. However, the small bronze sculptures and the unique ceramic works are definitely worth a visit, because they are absolutely outstanding and a big surprise! Sehr schöne Barock-Porträts in Pastell.

A hidden gem in Rome, the inner park is full of parrots when it gets warmer in Italy. Not touristy at all, a nice and calm spot to sit down and have a panini or cornetto away from the touristic hotspots of Rome.

Not known by most tourists, this is amazing place to get away from crowds and just relax. Very beautiful gardens with fountain and palm trees, parrots flying among these trees, many benches to just sit and enjoy the moment. And photos made here turn out awesome! Must visit place in Rome, especially since it's just few metres away from Piazza Venezia.

A lovely place to relax, the garden is usually quiet, shady in the heat and has some of Rome's rare benches.
