If you are at Kodai you must try this place without miss. It’s a very small place but definitely with a unique concept. They serve all organic and traditional foods. A very limited menu but awesome taste. We tried hot garlic soup, mutton soup n crab soup. You must try mayapaal also it’s a sweet dish. You can have you snacks with the lake view Taste 5/5

Morning ritual, Take a walk around the lake and walk a few meters extra to complete the 5 KM stretch of clean Crisp air to reach “kodai undi”. This place serves hot boiling free range chicken / mutton bone soup / hill garlic soup then feast to the next. This place prepares the best of them and having it when it’s real dam hot is a big treat to the body… Once your done with the soup move on to next delicacy of hot soft spongy idli’s with traditional fish curry…. Followed by the panniyarrams - sweet or hot, cotton seed halwa and google pay to leave. They are so much into it and serve with love. Just sit and watch the lake having this. This place does not get congested on weekdays or in the early hours of morning. But on a long holiday or weekend make sure to be there in the morning before the traffic buzzes in with long parking queues and traffic jams… Make sure to to be the first to have it and relax… Don’t miss this.. Enjoy.. Looking forward to many more other options to this great treat…

Place is situated on the star lake's service road, can be accessed by car, and can be parked by the road side. It is a small outdoor shop, and cab accommodate 8 people max. What's striking is the hospitality and the quality of the food they make. Food is freshly made on request. We tried most of the things here and please find my opinion and attached images below Mutton soup - just a regular, not so fancy soup. Idly with fish curry - hands down the best. Idly is made with ragi, hot and fluffy. Fishy curry was perfect with idly. Must try Egg and Regular paniyaram - can't actually differentiate veg and egg dish but overall, yummy, spongy and the tomato gravy with it was amazing. Must try as well Sweet paniyaram - Just go have it. Don't even think whether to have it or not. Best dessert ever accompanied with banana and honey sauce. Darn good and never ever miss it Last but not the least. Betel leaf ice cream - made with cane sugar, betel leaves, milk and Black/Sabja seeds. Tasted really yum 🤤 as it was a new experience. Won't say must try, but why skip something really new, yum and healthy. Price is not so economical, yet it compensates the quality, quantity and most importantly the taste with lake view. Eat healthy, stay fit and live happy

Beautiful place, excellent view, very friendly owner who kows hindi-english as well, and delicious food - we had the Garlic soup and Spicy Paniyaram, one of the very few authentic places serving local flavors.

Loved the food. The vibe was cordial and the soothing music certainly added to the ambiance. A special mention goes to the chicken panyaram and the country chicken soup.

A very different lunch experience as you walk around the Kodai lake. The food is authentic, delicious and made with love and pride. It's served with a smile and the stories of each recipe if you're keen to know. Totally recommended.

We were walking by the lake (in the evening chill) and saw this shack. I tried their hot hill garlic 🍲 soup and they served country chicken 🐔 soup for my wife. Lovely shack type experience. Alert: This is for folks who love to explore local food in Kodai. Giving a 5* for their approach, simplicity and for using local Ingredients. 👏

We tried all Paniyaram varieties and paruthipaal (cottonseed milk) as well. They were so unique and tasty. That ambience with flute bgm suites well with the food. If anyone want to try traditional tamilnadu food, then this is an must try spot in kodaikanal.
