A lovely place where I'd like to get back every time I return to this city! The atmosphere is great, the place is cozy and nice, the food is amazing and the service is great, we had a funny waiter! :) Also, thwre are funny paintings on the main wall, with devils! 😁 🎶 The music was perfect, also the volume was good, not too loud. There are music live shows in the weekends, jazz mainly but not only. The place is quite discreet, there is a nice terrace that in the summer I belive is great also. For the toilet you have to get outside and go in a semi-basement. 😁🚽 However, I truly recommend this place, it became my favourite! 😊

Cosy restaurant on the Gurko street. Quick serving, friendly staff. Tasty and good looking food; big portions and the menu includes also several vegetarian options. No fish dishes in the menu.

This was like wow, really great balkan food and restaurant with atmosphere. Not a restaurant made for tourists, I mean, this is a real local one. However the waitress spoke great English. Definitely will come again

I had a lovely time having lunch here, the soup was our favorite Bulgarian meal of the whole trip. From the food, to the drink to the prices, excellent. I had a good vibe when we walked past it and it definitely lived up to the expectations.

Traditional menu with plenty interesting meat options, but we found also some tasty vegetarian food. The location is nice, near old city center, the staff is friendly and the serving very fast.

We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here. It's a great option if you want to venture a bit outside the city center. The food is delicious, and the staff is very kind. We had the meatballs and sausage, and for dessert, the mascarpone and fig cake—everything was fantastic. We were genuinely impressed when we asked the waiter if we could leave a tip by credit card, as we do in our country. He responded, "That's not needed; we only want you to enjoy our restaurant!"Big love for the Bulgarian people.🤍

I definitely recommend it! The prices are good, the food is delicious, and the service is very friendly and unobtrusive. You can feel the family atmosphere there, it is a place where you want to spend time. The eggplants melted in the mouth, and I haven't had such good chicken liver anywhere in Europe!

If you don't know about it, you can easily not see it. It's located on the ground floor of house, where Gurko Street starts. Staff is very friendly and fast with serving. If you are looking for luxurious place, skip it, but if you want to taste delicious traditional cuisine, that's your place. I recommend Beans in Casserole 😉

This is definitely the place to cure a devilish apetite. The food is served pretty fast yet it still keeps the home-cooked taste advantage, it's really good. Pairs well with grapas and wine. And the wall paintings are a delight!

The bread was a bit burnt and the chicken dish we ordered wasn’t warm enough. Otherwise than that we were quite happy with everything else. The price is ok, quite cheap.

We came here for a lovely dinner. Our waiter was excellent and helped us choose some lovely dishes, which were good portions and delicious. The prices are good, and there are plenty of options for food and drink. As tourists, we felt welcomed but it also felt like a place that locals go too which was nice. Worth a visit.

It's a small place but very cosy. The food was delicious, the personnel very nice. Tripe soup. ..yummy in my tummy. Also the beef soup, so tasty. We tried other dishes too and of course draught beer Budweiser.

Our best local food we had in Bulgaria. Fresh ingredients and home cooked. This place is a hidden gem, there are a lot of restaurants in Veliko, but this is the place you need to go if you would like to eat traditional, bulgarian food. Place is nice and cozy, we were sitting outside and it was just perfect. Similar to a Greek tavern. Service was wonderful, we were greeted by a wonderful lady who spoke perfect English and explained some the dishes for us. Prices are more than affordable, so please try as many dishes as you can because you won’t regret.

Charming & traditional restaurant with really nice employees which are really helpful and make you feel really welcomed! We ordered the misch masch which was a mix of eggs, paprika and feta cheese with a really nice spicing. And some fresh made fries with Bulgarian cheese! (Both is really recommended) The restaurant is a bit away from the touristic street which makes it even more charming!

Mediocre at best. I went in cause I was hungry and tired after trying several other places that were full. The attitude of the staff....where do I begin... Except for a nice girl at the bar and the young waiter this is a gossip club of bored people. The so called herbs potatoes were disgusting, impossible to eat. The breaded cheese....breaded in pebbles. The salad was rather withered. The kind of food you would eat at the bus station cafe or worse. No care whatsoever. Like others I have tried several other places but this one is by far the worst. With so many restaurants around one would think such an isolated place would try a bit more.

Wow, this place is a bit hidden, but the food was simply delicious with low prices. Traditional mehana with plenty of local food. I can recommend Tarator and pork Kavarma. A place you should definitely visit! 😉

I love this place so much, that I went there not just for a lunch, but decided to take away their delicious dishes for a dinner too. Very kind nad welcoming people, pets friendly with good chill atmosphere. What a suprised to receive even a present on 1st March, a bracelet “martenitsa” according to tradition of Baba Marta. My best local food in Bulgaria. Slow cooked pork was super. The soup was delicious. The cost of the dinner was very reasonable. It is an authentic and good quality local restaurant.

Lovely old restaurant in the old town. Very quirky, we only stopped for a few craft beers. Very nice and reasonable, staff friendly obviously popular with the locals as started to fill up quickly. Outdoor seating also. If you want authentic Bulgarian this would be a must.

Interesting atmosphere. I think it's one of the most authentic places in town, but I think it's a bit overpriced for what it offers. The guy who served us was really nice, he understood English (and I learned that's a valuable thing there) and was very helpful and funny.

The place is an iconic spot in Veliko Tarnovo but I must say the food was not as good as expected. I had tarama and chicken hearts and they were both a bit too salty. The service was average. Our waitress was really kind but made a lot of mistakes and forgot stuff we ordered. The ambiance is great and I really recommend it for a chill afternoon.

Literally the best experience I had in terms of lunch in this city. Cost/quality is very good, service is quick, music is a great change of pace from the mainstream pop playing from every corner.

The food was good. The service was quick. The guy spoke English and very helpful. They have draft beer, not expensive.
