Park was maintained well. And entrance fee of 5₹ is so fair. Children playing areas are just AWESOME. There are lot of games inside the park. Govt approved fish stall is very near. And taste of the fishes are so yummy. There’s a canal inside the park and that was eye catching view point. And sitting tiles are there for sit and enjoy the quality with your loved once.

Self and friend visited Pollachi with no prior arrangement. We came to know abt Selva and PJT frm the resort where we stayed. To visit places in and around Pollachi, we opted for open Jeep ride for a day. The best day out of our three days trip, I should say. Really loved it. It was a very different experience travelling in open jeep. It gives a feel of ourselves travelling with nature as the cool gust of air sweeps along the face. With an intent to make the tourists savor the heritage of Pollachi and make their travel memorable, the unique initiative by Selva is well appreciated. He made our trip unforgettable one. Wished that we had arranged the entire trip with Selva in open Jeep. Due to some reason, we had to look for an alternate stay arrangement which he helped doing it immediately and ensured that we reached each place safely though he was not with us for the rest two days. We met him as a guide at the resort on the first day and he finally came to the bus stand as a friend to wave bye on our last day in Pollachi. Highly recommended to any kind of traveller. Solo, couples, girls, kids, gang of friends, senior citizens from any country!! Do call Selva if you are visiting Pollachi. He and his Jeep will take care of the rest and make your trip amazing!!

Many water games also available. But most of them are under maintenance. Children can enjoy the toy train rides and other games. Navigation boards must be placed for the tourists. Cleanliness should be improved. Overall average maintenance with good scenic views around.

Nice park with dam water view and entrance fee is comparatively less. Rs.5/- and Rs.20/- for mobile. Few games are available in park but we have to pay separately for those and that amount also comparatively less. Many places inside garden or park to sit and chill out. But maintenance is not done properly if they do so then everything will be perfect here. Be prepared to climb ~50 to 100 steps to see the beautiful view of the dam.

We went to Pollachi for a holiday. We spent our good time there but our unforgettable thing is we spent our day in open Jeep. It was amazing experience. We like natural scenery of Valparai hill road from the open Jeep. good job highly recommend. Want to go ride again.

This was our first open Jeep experience and we loved it. Mr.Selva took us to all the places safe and secure and we didn't need to worry about anything. Open top ride at the end was icing on a cake.

The dam and the park is open for public. There's not much water right now. The ticket to enter is Rs. 5 but sold at Rs. 15

The dams in Tamilnadu seems to be developed as tourise places. Good facilities, gardens and so on. Aliyar dam is also a scenic place on the way to Monkey falls. Nicely developed area. Lot if greenary. Nominal entry fees. Very large area to see.

This place is a good getaway with family or friends.. especially in the evening time. They have an entry fee and the garden is just okay (not maintained properly).. but when you take the stairs the scene is beautiful.

We have been wanting to visit pollachi for a very long time. The idea of an open jeep intrigued us and we planned a trip last month. It's been one of our best experiences. Travelling, via thick forests and hills with the best views, in an open jeep is a match made in heaven. Selva was extremely thoughtful and keen to make this memorable for us. He called up the elephant safari at topslip in advance about our arrival, asked permission for a short safari at parambikulam (even though the tickets were sold out for the day) , took us into the 'tunnel' that runs through the Naiyyar dam because my son was very enthusiastic, took us to a friend's farm because the kids would enjoy it. He is on excellent terms with people in the surrounding areas and very polite and friendly. This made our trip really relaxed and fun. A definite must do if visiting pollachi. I am sure we will visit again.

I was thinking it would be a regular cab experience initially when I booked through PJT, but what I got was an interesting, mind-blowing,friendly, unique and never seen before experience from Mr.Selva. First of all,am thankful to Mr.Selva since he is not doing business for the sake of tourists guide/driver,he has put-forth lot of effort in terms of arranging a nice room for stay, guided us to plan for our 3 days entire holiday trip, guided us properly for local eat-outs, showed all the places as per the itinerary with lots and lots of information in it and lastly he has dropped us in the bus station thereby he has created an unique customer experience and we were very much satisfied and happier with the trip. I.recommend One should try exploring places in Pollachi, Valparai,Topslip through PJT as this experience would be awesome. Park with really beautiful views of the dam. Lot of space and green lawns for kids to run around. In the evenings and weekends, it is thronged by families. Inside the park, there is a long canal of water which offers a refreshing break from daily hustle. Just few hundred metres, there are Monkey waterfall and the dam to include in the itinerary. There is a very beautiful "Gate" or kaman which offers very good view and photo op.

A perfect evening hang out place for families. Nice view and climate. But crowded on weekends. Ticket is needed for entry. Parking is a problem there. Park is well maintained and clean but the surrounding is too bad. People dump everything on the road side and the entire area stinks.

Good looking dam. The view from the dam was great. Ticket charges are not big. Only 5 per person. The playground and equipment are not maintained well. If it is maintained well, it should be more attractive. I think some kind of boating will make it more fun for travelers.

The aliyar dam reservoir park , on the way to valparai is an excellent place to relax and enjoy. We visited the reservoir in October this year. The weather was very good.The place being well connected by bus and being quite near the city of Coimbatore is really a good place to visit with family and friends.

After central government announced that From 15th October 2020 unlock relaxation, I planned to visit this aliyar dam with family. But, TN government not open this park as well as dam to visit as per central government announced. We gone on 21/10/2020. Then we return with sadness. Tn government still not update closing details in their official website. I planned after checking the aliyar dam park official website and shown opening 8 am and close time 6pm. But,we reached by car on 12pm. So, call the aliyar dam park office and plan before getting ready. If you plan to hair pin bind rider by bike, you need to get e pass also from the check post. Because, From the Hill's steps till vaalpaarai belongs to vaalpaarai municipality control. So, you should get e-pass even riding by bike. But, media/government tells that you need to get entry into vaalpaarai, you must take e-pass. Practically, you need e-pass from the check post which is situated in the Hill's steps. (Before starting 1st hair pin bend).

Dam has so many nostalgia. But that alone can help it. It's in desperate need of maintenance. In too bad shape it is. Hope government take necessary steps to help it to recover back to its old Beauty.

Excellent place to spend half a day with kids. Has a park. Has absolutely stunning views of hills and Pollachi. Lush green coconut farms. Fresh air and pleasant weathers adds to the views. Can take a stroll along the dam road which is a good 1.5 to 2km in length. There are eateries outside the dam. Perfect picnic spot.

Very nice place. If you really want to know how to badly maintain a good place, this is the right place. No water. No fountain. Not clean. No water in restroom. Lawn grass are almost dead. An average Dam with associated park for families and group of people. There are small canals goes through the park so kids and families can dip into these and enjoy the cool waters. There are so many rides for kids to play with some nominal fee. Make sure they have safe riding these stuffs, because some rides were bit faster than we expect in a children's ride. Better go in the evenings. There is a nice view from the top of the dam.

These ticket counter people are so cheat. Taking all the money to their own pocket without giving tickets to the visitors. We reached there by 6.30pm and asked them if it is open . A nice hide out for people who love nature. A right spot for family outings, the place is surrounded by lot of natural treasures. A must visit place.

Entry fee is 10 per person and they also charged for mobile camera. Kids will have a good time here as there are many kids playing stuffs are available. On top of the park is the Aaliyar dam present. You have to climb around 100 steps to reach there. A good scenic view you can get once you reach the top.

It was a great experience. Loved the weather and the park environment. The reservoir is quite big and to our surprise it was open for us only for a few hours.

Nice place, now in this month of January water is in full level and canals are opened. But no proper maintenance.Surrounding hills and natural scenery on the way is very enjoyable.

Not so well maintained. They could charge 5 rs more per ticket to the current charge of 5 rs and use that money towards cleaning and proper maintainence. That could potentially attract more tourists to the spot. Water in the fountain was so dirty, so was the walking pathways. Most of the items in the children's park area like swings were in damaged condition. Park area is not a very good place to be. However the road in the top was decent.

The weather was just perfect with a cool breeze. The view was really good and relaxing to look at along with the melody of the water lapping in the background. Although, the garden area isn't well maintained. There was also water logging in some pathways. There were a lot of stray dogs around too.

Long story short - If you want to have once in lifetime rewarding hours in Pollachi then you should really go for this. Here is the long story - I was returning from Kerala after attending my friend's wedding. My plan was to stop and roam in Pollachi for a day en-route to Chennai. The previous day I had no idea about my plans in Pollachi. I took the number from TripAdvisor and made a call, on the other side a person introduced himself as Selva and he sounded kind and approachable. I told him I am looking for a one day trip to Topslip. He pointed the link in his website for the tariff details and asked me to check and get back to him. This to me is an approach I would welcome. Instead of bargaining, having a tough time, he has the details and the price put up in his website. You can choose from the available options and it really helps to narrow down your initial decision. I told him I will be opting for Top-slip-Parambikulam trip. He enquired me about the stay and i said I have no idea and he suggested me a budget hotel near the Pollachi bus stop. The hotel was decent and reasonably priced. The next day we decided to start at 7.30 AM. I got down from the hotel and was surprised to see the Jeep (Gypsy). Selva is the person who is owner cum driver for it. I didn't expect that I will see him in shorts and coolers. I got into the Gypsy and within 5 minutes i started sharing a good conversation with Selva. He was explaining about Pollachi, its geography, its major exports and why he prefers Parambikulam instead of Topslip (Parambikulam is the last hill stop and you will be passing through Topslip). Topslip is poorly maintained by TN Govt whereas the Kerala government maintains Parambikulam. They maintain it so well and the place greets you with their signature warmth. Don't get carried away by the heading "Parambikulam Tiger Reserve". If you have luck you can spot a tiger but it is rare as the tigers will be mostly inside forest. The trip is rewarding if you want to enjoy the forest air, vista views, the light and shadow play by the sunlight instead of having an ambition just to spot a tiger. I could spot many birds on the way sitting inside the jeep which includes - Green Bee Eater, Peahen, Peacock, Lesser Golden Flameback Woodpecker, Racket Tailed Drongo, Indian Golden Oriole, Rufous Treepie. I was lucky to get a glimpse of all these birds in their natural habitat and i even spotted a Cobra snake near the dam area. All through the trip till evening, Selva was very kind and gentle. We discussed a lot of stuffs and he was like a best-friend figure within short span of time knowing him.The Kerala govt. runs a restaurant in Parambikulam and you get some first class breakfast and lunch cooked by the local people. Selva can help you choose how to get the best out of the day. He dropped me back at 4 PM and I had some extra areas covered and took some long time in each spot to experience things a little longer and he charged me reasonable. Normally if you deviate from the original plan you would be charged heavy but Selva was genuine. He understands what kind of person you are and based on your expectation he tries to make the best out of the trip. I would give my highest recommendation in choosing his Jeep trip if you wanted a 1or 2 day sight-seeing in Pollachi . Bonus : 1. Sitting inside all open Gypsy you could feel the fresh air splicing your body 2. The Gypsy is in good condition, I am 6.1 ft tall and I had no troubles. 3. Selva can suggest you some reasonable budget hotels so that you don't waste money for the stay 4. He has a earned a good name for himself in this business and almost all the Kerala govt.forest officials know him. PS : This review was written after a month of my trip and I still cherish the day I spent in the forest with Selva. Thanks, Praveen

Our two day tour of the Tiger Reserve was amazing. Our experienced and friendly driver took us through the beautiful forests in a brand new jeep and we saw many animals including two types of deer, three types of monkey, wild boar, peacocks, hornbill, sea eagle, dragon lizard. Unfortunately no tigers, but the stunning scenery made up for it! Visited the reservoir and I enjoyed our paddle on the bamboo raft. Our driver gave us a delicious Pollachi coconut to drink and, took us to his old school where we met the lovely head mistress, the teacher and all the children. Day two, we visited Monkey Falls and drove up the steep mountain around hairpin bends with gave us panoramic views of the dam and reservoir and dense forest. We also drove through "Waterfalls" tea estate's 2000 acre plantation to the old colonial bungalows (which you can rent). We highly recommend using this company. Selva gave us a friendly and very professional service. Thank you 🙏

Ours was a 3 day trip.. jan 2020.. pollachi n valparai. The one-of-its-kind open jeep was joyful and very comfortable... Our kids enjoyed the jeep thoroughly! While they suggest interesting things to do, they accommodate your liking too! Rekla ride, fresh farm tender coconut, off roading, river bath, local food options, etc were additions to what we had planned! we family of 5 atlast finalised our short trip for 3 days to parambikulam and valaparai after getting contact of Mr.Selvam of PJT. He gave us the options of stay and vehicle and as the pervari island stay was available, he booked it for us. Right from pick up from coimbatore and drop back he took care of us. The island stay was awesome. The open Jeep safari was the highlight of the entire trip. My son daughter and father all enjoyed the ride. At island, there are people to cook wonderful food for us. Valaparai sholaiyar dam ride in the evening was superb. We were taken to the best of hotels in the entire trip. Overall it was a very nice experience and company of Selvam was like a trip with a friend.

Really great experience....Perfect for IT people's.....flexible and knowledgable guide......We never expected this much enjoyable experience while going...prefer jun to dec because it is good season for sight seeing.. Jeep is awesomee...Definitely we all have a dream to ride with this one...Above all thanks to selva bro to make the trip happy and enjoyable.we always prefer with you(selva) while trip on this side.

We went on a 2 day trip in July 2019. What an amazing experience. Open jeep ride amist the beautiful nature and forest was excellent. Mr. Selva, the owner of PJT is a very friendly person. We felt completely safe and secure throughout the journey. Thank you Selva.

It was really a brilliant and adventurous trip. Though it was a 12 hours trip around Top Slip, valparai & Parambikulam, we never felt tired as the open jeep tour kept us engaged and thrilled throughout the Forest Journey. Selva who owns and runs this Jeep was an excellent caretaker, guide and customer friendly, most importantly he very well knows the locations and Forest officials which helped us to take Selva's private jeep into the restricted areas. There is no better person than the Forest Police Guide ( M.Murugan) who joined us in parambikulam forest range, knows the wild terrain inside out. Unfortunately we couldn't sight much of wildlife but we never felt disappointed as both Selva and Murugan was very engaging throughout the trip. Overall the trip was very entertaining and my family thoroughly enjoyed every moment. I would recommend that the best time to take Parambikulam forest tour is during April/May. Cheers Anand

It was an awesome experience for us(2 couples with one kid).first of all i must say thanku to selva for guiding us throughout our vacation...enjoyed each and every natural beauty secneries from jeep...my daughter enjoyed alot in open jeep...though we only hired the open jeep from pollachi to attakatti view point,still he had taken care of food,stay, valuable information to parambikulam forest reserve...before we reach parambikulam he already told to some people to receive us...it made us easy to get in to that formalities...he is so kind and friendly...liked his company..hardly we can get such kind of persons nowadays...surely for next visit will take full package from you Selva... Thanku selva for giving your jeep for a while to drive..it was thrilling experience to me...liked it...

The place that has been around for many years now, is still a charm to visit especially for the enchanting view of the catchment area and the hills it offers. Most of the artifacts installed in the park have lost their sheen (probably due to the lockdowns) and are in need of renovation. The entry to the park is ₹5. But you'll be asked to pay ₹30 for two persons inclusive of mobile phone photography charges (that's what the person at the ticket counter tells us) . Please be informed that if you have to visit the dam road, there's a long flight of stairs that needs to be climbed. Easy for youngsters, might not be very easy for elderly people.

Entry fee 5 per adult and 20 rupee compulsory for 1 mobile, Located in Pollachi. You can have a view of Aaliyar dam and child park to spend some time with family. Wouldn't recommend in sunny days. Average in Interest.

Beautiful tourist destination. Best spot for family get together. Nice climate,cool breeze and lush green.

Aayliyar amazing spot to visit with family. Very minimum Entry fee charged by govt. Maintain very clean. Outer side people sell some street food it give awesome experiences. This experiences get back our childhood memories. And also we share our childhood memories to our child. Aayilar dam stright opposite have one hotel called as chettiyar amma kadai, in that shop fish curry famous and fish fry very taste. Don't miss that "meen kolambu" (மீன் குழம்பு).

Location is Scenic.. TN Govt can maintain it well and develop more than a Mysore Brindavan Garden, because Aliyar Dam has massive space and very nice location with pleasant climatic condition..

The experience in and around the park were good. The crowd is building up amidst covid. Very nice place, especially with rain around. Nice half day trip The snacks place called Gowri Krishna was also equally good. Rejuvenating experience

Nice place for family and children's. Mesmerizing views. Excellent climate.

Good place to spent some time. Nothing much inside the park. Ticket price is just 5rs. You can walk over the dam top and the view is really good. There are some games and play area things for kids which needs extra payment as well. It also has a garden. Closes at 6pm. You will get fresh dam fish fry at outside the park.(kuyil fish is good) Its a kind of town area, nearby that a lot of stores are there outside, so you can buy food, water, juice etc..its mostly crowded to get the tickets but inside there will not be any issue since the dam top walk area is huge. There is no online tickets available. Need to go there and collect tickets from the entrance itself. They will charge 20rs extra for mobile phone in the name of photography.

Best place to spend time with your family and friends. The surrounding view will be good when seen from the dam. The only issue is that there is no proper maintenance even though they are collecting money for entry ticket. If everything is maintained properly and neatly, this place will attract more visitors.

A wonderful place to visit and take bath(if allowed) at the foot hills of Western Ghats.

Not as olden days, maintenance of the park is not bad, some places are dry, which was greeny once. Presence of couples are more than the presence of families. Can spend the time by walking more, so it is not suitable for aged people.

Very good and large Dam. The place of this Dam is situated on the way to Valparai. The entrance to this Dam is 5 rs per person. One cannot enter the water body as it is protected by bricks. The dam can be seen from the top of Valparai as we descend down the mountains. Many Tamil movies were shot in this location.

One perfect place to visit water mountain combo. Beauty of nature with a nice garden. Good parking area. Number of small eatables available. A must watch spot

Though it could be better maintained, the park attached to the dam is an attraction for many. The walk through the park and on the dam are an opportunity for a workout. Carry enough drinking water with you. There’s an opportunity for a nice boat ride on the dam backwaters. Car parking is mostly along the street side. Very limited eateries on the site.

Nice place for family and couples. You must go in the morning or in the evening because of the hot atmosphere. You would find very calm and quiet place there to enjoy with your family and loved ones. There is some restaurants on the opposite side of the ticket counter where you can get some delicious fish fries on demand. In addition, we can see breathtaking view of Aliyar dam on the way to Valparai. We can see the reservoir on each hairpin of the Valparai route. This route is awesome with lots of trees and scenes.

We visited the place in the month of April. It's not a good idea to visit during the summer. Otherwise, it's a good place to hang-out. They have an entry fee of ₹5, but they will charge an extra ₹20 for mobile.

Beautiful place. Very spacious park. Has a good view point. The view point has to be viewed by climbing staircase. Full view of hills and dam cam be seen. Can be enjoyed more in cool weather. Gives a serene feel. This place heals. Entry fees and fees for mobile phones is charged.

Aliyar Dam is surrounded by lush green mountains thus providing a scenic view! Many Tamil Movie Shooting has been done here. The Aliyar Dam has also a park with some fun activities and there is a small entry fee and can find some Hotels nearby! A perfect place to chill in the evening near pollachi and also Valparai is located near by.

One of the best view in Kerala and Tamilnadu border this Dam is the huge resource for many people for coimbatore side

Not a great fan of play parks but indeed will be the best for the kids to play around. The highlight of this park was the long staircase up to the dam road from where one can see the view of the entire reservoir. The misty huge mountains gave us the feel of the Jurassic park. 😂 There is a small stream flowing through the park which dried up when we went there. The entry fee is 10 /- and 5/- for the mobile camera.

We,the friend visited this park it's good drive from coimbatore and good place for family and friends. Small rides for children. The view from the dam is amazing.Park is situated nearby dam and locationwise very nice place. It is on the way to Valparai from Pollachi. We enjoyed the park with family and friends. Children will enjoy the park which is more spacious. Earlier years film shooting taken here. Needs further improvement and maintenance.This place is a good getaway with family or friends.. especially in the evening time. They have an entry fee and the garden is just okay (not maintained properly).. but when you take the stairs (many stairs - not recommended for people with knee problem or old age) the scene is beautiful.Children's can enjoy this place. Don't miss the boating. At the time of my visit, There was only one boat and waited for almost 45 mins to get my chance. You will enjoy this 15 - 20 min ride. Better to visit early in the morning or late in the evening. Check timings before you visit this place and plan accordingly.They charge you Rs. 25 at entrance (Entrance + Mobile phone Camera). When you enter you will see broken fountains, non functioning lights, Plastic bottles ridden canal, food paper plates thrown all over, stinking and unclean toilets, Garbage and stench all over. Then you will find 180 steps to climb to the top of the reservoir and then its bliss. Beautiful sight of water against 180 degree mountain backdrop. Perfect for taking great photos. If only the Holy TN govt cares for Tourism or Tourist sites, places like Azhiyar will be become true gem of a place to visit and picnic until then forget Azhiyar and its disgusting, disease causing stench. Looks like Local Hoteliers and traders have no clue on how tourism can enhance their business as they seldom protest the disgusting maintenance of the park with the PWD department.

One of the main tourist place in Pollachi. Big and vast park but very poor maintenance. Only recommended to visit in evening time because the park lacks good shades to rest. Didn't climb up to see the dam view that seemed not worth in that time. No special parking area and have to park in the roadside which have good shades but along with a parking fee. Area is good for refreshments and good foods available nearby.

Visited this place while coming back from Valparai. Calm and beautiful. Very huge dam with Misty mountains in the background. Small stream of water flows inside the park.

5 rs for entry 10 rs for phone/camera th place is not well maintained but it's has a great view visit it during rain you will have a great view to witness you have vlimb steps to reach top visit it during weekend you will have a peaceful visit
