Was just interested in a bottle of wine to take back to the apartment for the night. Was welcomed by extremely rude service where the server didn’t even want us to touch the bottles in the wine rack and didn’t want us to look at the bottles to choose what we preferred. We remained calm and just took his recommendation for an overpriced bottle of wine for 45 euros that tasted more like a sour beer. Won’t ever come back to this place, it’s a rip-off and if it wasn’t for vacation and being in one of the most beautiful places in the world I’d go back and say a few more words to the bartender.

Super tiny little Bar/Cafe. Theyve managed to squeeze in 4 tiny tables - but it's cozy. Prices are a tad high, but standard for Venice. The food we ordered was good, and the portion size was acceptable so overall we can't really complain. If your looking for the typical Venetian combination of something small to eat combined with a drink, this place is about as good as any.

Don't understand the low ratings. Service was excellent and food was as well. Servers were friendly and prompt. Drink prices are expensive, but exactly the same price as everything else near St Marks plaza. This is peak tourist area and we were happy to get right in and get our drinks and food promptly.

Tourist trap indeed. Paid 19 euro for a beer, a soda and an aperol spritz. The woman behind the bar was also grumpy and swearing because we didn't order food and only had drinks while sitting there for an hour. Worst place in Venice. Do not go!

Tourist trap, overpriced. The food was not so bad but more than 60€ for a few tapas, one beer and a white wine is a rip-off. Even for Venice. Much better options elsewhere. Best to avoid.

Lovely service. Caffé bar option. Solid jam cookies. Prices really not that unreasonable for 2 min outside the Basilica. 4€ espresso and large cookie.

Since years my favorite bar, prices are according to quality and style… it’s not a fast food chain, products and quality good and it’s a legendary place for a Venice Pro Tourist it’s a must for newbies who want everything everywhere cheap you shouldn’t go there

We couldn't advise people avoid this place more. As many have already said in other reviews it's a complete trap. My husband and I ended up in this bar when we arrived in Venice as it was late and nothing else much seemed open near our location. The waiter didn't give us access to a menu or a wine list and simply asked us whether we wanted red or white wine. He then unknown to us deliberately poured his most expensive glass of red (10 euros a glass). He encouraged us to get the Venetian special pasta which looked lovely but again had no price (all fool us) and when it came to paying we discovered it was 22 euros each. In total our bill came to 80 euros for two plates of pasta, 2 glasses of red wine and a couple of asparagus tips with parma ham on it. The waiter was unable to take card claiming his card machine didn't work and then refused to write me a receipt. When I went back the following day to check the price of the pasta on the menu, I discovered it wasn't even listed. They make up the prices as they see fit and try and take advantage of people with the late night trade. Even their priced options are more expensive than elsewhere. Left a really bad and lasting first impression of Venice. Don't fall in to the same trap and avoid like the plague!

DO NOT GO: PURE TOURIST TRAP. Prices are totally exaggerated. 25€ for meatballs, 5€ for a can of coke etc 82€ for two persons. Served as a snack deserves to be served. I strongly advise to complain to the manager so it will definitely touch him in front of other tourist customers. He should be ashamed of his behavior and his contribution to the image of the city. Disgusted not by the ok food but by the SCAM. If you went there just twice, you could go to a one-star Michelin for the price of those... simple snacks !! Shame and sad.

Totally trip off!!! 27€ for spritz x 2 and coffee x2. True “ gold”!!! The owner is extremely rude. No prices seen or menu. He makes them the moment you need to pay. No card accepted Should be avoided. There are so many other places in Venice where, for the same amount of money, can have lots more.

Kind advice: don’t go here. The wine we had tasted bad, an almost empty glass for €6. The woman behind the bar was grumpy and unfriendly.

👍👍 Everything we had and experienced were great — from the yogurt, croissants, cappuccino, freshly-squeezed orange juice, and the friendly and efficient staff. We enjoyed our short stay. The pizzas look great every time we walk by Farini. We will definitely be back!
