Mama Isa’s cooking school is a masterpiece of an Italian cooking school that exemplifies the spirit and elegance of Italian cuisine. For years it was a dream of mine to participate in an Italian cooking class and to learn the art of handmade pasta making, and this experience exceeded all expectations. While traveling through 7 countries, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to partake in one of her week long cooking classes, which turned out to be the highlight of my entire trip. Chef Isa with her talent, patience and warm hospitality will walk you through her family’s recipes and will share her wisdom every step of the way. Her cooking technique is essential, and I loved how she encourages you to take phone videos during class so that you have them to reference when trying these recipes at home. The daily menu is flexible and if there is a particular dish you would like to learn how to make, Chef Isa will do what she can to make it happen. The main dishes you make each day are paired with Italian wines, and believe me when I say you will not leave hungry. By the end of your course, you will walk away with detailed recipes as well as fond memories with a wonderful family. Chef Isa and her family will forever hold a special place in my heart and I am already thinking about returning in the near future. If you have always dreamed of learning true home style Italian cooking, this is the perfect class for you! Thanks for everything chef! Salute!

Wow wow wow. I couldn’t recommend Isa’s class enough! I’d give it a 10/5 if I could. Isa’s class is such a wonderful experience - her home is beautiful, her and her husband are inviting and welcoming, and her cooking skills are immaculate. I wish we had more time in Padova otherwise I would have gone back for more! I highly recommend this class for anyone who wants a fun, informative, and delicious experience with authentic Italian cuisine!

The week I spent at Mama Isa's Cooking School was unbelievable for me and my three other friends. Isa might be the nicest host of any travels I've had with friends, or strangers. Chef Isa was patient and full of character as she taught us every step of the way and teaching us so many useful cooking tips that it was hard to remember them all. And we were also lucky to have her assistant there to do everything and more before we even know we needed it. A few suggestions for people or foodies considering this cooking experience Do it. Don't think about the time investment or money, just do it: you will not be disappointed. I was lucky to go with three fiends, but I would easily do this as a solo traveler because Isa offers a one on one private sessions. It's a great way to make new friends and have a mix of food, fantastic wine, activity and relaxation. Thanks to everyone at Mama Isa's cooking school team who made this bucket list trip even better than I could have imagined.

I and my partner have booked vegetarian cooking class with Chef Isa Mama and had the BEST time :). Both Chef Isa and her husband Stefano were wonderful! They were very kind and it was a professional setting, and we learned so much about Italian cuisine and history around it. The Tagliatelle pasta,Tiramisu and Focaccia sourdough bread we have learned were excellent and the recipe sent was very elaborate! This experience was one of our highlights of our trip.Highly recommend

Mama Isa's cooking class is hands down one of the best dining experiences I've had! It isn't just about food but also history, culture, and great company. She makes everything seem so easy and effortless because she enjoys doing it. The hours at her place just fly by and I was amazed how much I managed to eat in one meal - it's hard to stop when the cooking is SO WONDERFUL!

From start to finish, my stay at Mama Isa's Cooking School was the best cooking vacation I've ever had. I took the Italian cooking course for a week in December 2017. Chef Isa is a talented chef and cooking class teacher. She is very helpful and welcoming, and she worked very hard to make it a rewarding and memorable vacation. The wines and food were excellent, the accommodation very comfortable, the setting nice, tranquil and beautiful. I knew quite a bit about cooking before my Mama Isa Experience, yet still learned so many valuable things, and all was from scratch. There only were 2 of us in the course. I will return when I can. I would take another week at her cooking school. I absolutely loved it and recommend it most highly. No words to define the awesome time I had at this cooking course at Mama Isa's Cooking School.

I came to Italy from the United States and one of my big hopes was to be able to take a cooking class to learn really good Italian sauces and dishes. We found Mama Isa’s cooking class and it was more than I ever could’ve imagined! The recipes were easy to follow, the ingredients were high quality, everything was very thorough and the hospitality was like no other! We made marinara sauce, bolognese, carbonara, béchamel and pasta al forno with wine and homemade limoncello. I had such a great time and it was one of the big highlights of my trip! If I ever go back to that part of Italy- I will definitely go back for another class. I loved it!! Cheers!

Fabulous three day course. If I could give it ten stars I would. We had such an amazing experience. Isa is a fabulous cook and a wonderful teacher. She and her husband are patient and gracious. I learned so much and ate enough for five people. Take a course. You will love it.

My mother and I went on a three week European trip to kick off 2019. We planned the trip on the fly. We visited Lisbon, London, and several Italian cities (Rome, Florence, Venice). This was the highlight of our trip! We reached out less than 24 hours before we wanted to take a class with Mama Isa. Booking was easy, Mama Isa gave us great instructions, and checked on us and we traveled to Padova from Venice. It was just me and my mother in the class. The pizza making class was amazing. Mama Isa took her time and explained each step. She took pictures of us and would instruct us what to take pictures of to reference when we want to make Pizza in the future. The wine was also excellent. We made three different pizzas over the course of three and a half hour course. I would highly recommend.

Phenomenal experience to have whilst in the Venice region. Amazing communication prior to the class and good directions to get there. Both Isa and Stefano are so welcoming and work together as such a good team. The cooking itself was so informative, fun, detailed, filled with history, and doable. Will be taking back these tips and tricks to help make amazing food at home. We were able to do a vegan class as well, and Isa was easily able to accommodate this and create such delicious and colourful food. Thank you Isa and Stefano for an amazing morning!

Learning to prepare Venetian specialties with Chef Isa was an absolute delight from start to finish. Well in advance, she gave us many different options for the types of dishes we could learn to make. She graciously invited us into her home, where she greeted us as special guests and proceeded to teach us her meticulous and expert cooking methods. Under her precise and clear directions, we prepared Aperol spritzes (served with a lovely antipasti tray, courtesy of Isa’s husband Stefano), potato gnocchi with porcini cream sauce, and gelato. The best part was getting to consume this delicious meal! The Teroldego Rotaliano (red wine of Northern Italy) was a revelation. EVOO from Stefano’s family farm was outstanding. We discovered useful kitchen tools and special ingredients that we were able to buy locally and bring home with us. And of course we got the recipes, which we’ll be sure to use as often as we can. This was a unique and worthwhile treat and the highlight of our trip. Grazie mille Isa and Stefano for your warm hospitality and for sharing your home and your knowledge with us!

This has been the highlight of our trip to Italy. Mama Isa is a historian and a chef and together with her husband they make the perfect team to empower people to learn their family recipes. From the start, Mama Isa gave us detailed instructions on how to get to her place and ensured we were well taken care of from beginning to end. Not only was the food phenomenal, but their hospitality spirit left a deep impression on me. I left feeling so loved and that I wanted to learn so much from them- not only about food but also about how to make a stranger feel so welcome.

My partner and I had the BEST time with Mama Isa!! We learned how to make deliciously fresh egg pasta in a beautiful mushroom sauce, and the most unbelievable Pistachio gelato which we now dream about regularly! Thank you to Chef Isa and her wonderful husband for making our day so memorable. Spending time with them, cooking amazing food, and learning about the history of true Italian and Sicilian cooking, really was a highlight of our trip, and an experience we have shared with many of our friends & family since coming home. We have a few essential tools to buy first, but we're very excited to make the pasta and gelato again! Highly recommend!

My family of four (husband and two children, 13 and 11) spent 3 wonderful and technique-filled hours with Chef Isa and her husband Stefano learning how to make egg tagliatelle with bolognese ragu and homemade focaccia from scratch. We love to cook and have taken many cooking classes, but Chef Isa really stands out with her (1) focus on technique (such as settling our family debate on whether you put EVOO into a cold or hot pan for sauteeing, or giving us individual feedback on how we kneaded the pasta dough); (2) customization and ability to teach us how to make restaurant-quality allergy friendly recipes (very important in our family); (3) very warm teaching style and focus on passing on treasured family traditions. We learned so much and came away with full bellies, delicious and detailed recipes we know we will use again and again, and great memories. Thank you, Isa and Stefano!

I had a fantastic one week cookery school experience with Mama Isa! She provided an incredible hands on experience learning many different pastas, sauces, desserts, cocktails, anything you have in mind she’s able to teach you! There were a lot of tips and tricks that she had learned from her mother and her grandmother that I now can incorporate into my at home cooking! I also used the accommodation she provided which was incredibly clean and very comfortable. Just a quick 5 minute walk to and from the kitchen and the apartment. The lessons took place typically from 9:30-3 so i had plenty of time to also explore the beautiful city of Padova! If you are looking for an authentic cooking course I couldn’t recommend Mama Isa more!

The pasta class was excellent and the chef instructor was "wow". We wanted to take a moment to let you know how much we enjoyed the Pasta MasterClass at Mama Isa's Cooking School. Chef Isa is talented and accomplished at her craft and she is also an excellent instructor. It was a really fun evening with a great group of people.

The cooking class was a breathtaking experience. Immediately greeted by a warm welcome, Chef Isa made us feel part of the family as soon as we entered. The whole day and cooking class was fun, professional, exciting, and very informative. Chef Isa is not only a chef but a historian, so the food history is a part of the cooking class. The setting was beautiful, with red wine and lovely rosé wine flowing all day! Fantastic company from USA and New Zealand guests. If you're considering doing this then we can honestly say it's one of the best things we've ever done.

Working with Chef Isa was the absolute highlight of my family’s time in Italy. Not only is Isa an incredible chef with storied food knowledge but she provided the most comfortable environment to cook in with her and Stefano going above and beyond the entire class. The recipes we learned were phenomenal but what really stood out was Isa’s kindness and understanding. My father cannot eat solid food due to a medical condition and Isa took it upon herself to make him a fresh smoothie from her own personal kitchen- it truly showed that Isa was welcoming us into her home, not just providing a service in teaching us to cook a few Italian dishes. If you get the chance to take a cooking class from Mama Isa you will not be disappointed! 5 stars and an unforgettable experience!

Dear Isa Family, my daughter Laura and I want to thank you all for such a warm welcome to your lovely home. We will always remember the amazingly delicious food we cooked with Isa and her lovely partner Stefano. You are all so warm and gracious about sharing your home and your love for your traditional dishes. We truly feel like we are now part of the Isa family. The lesson was about the art of bread making and pizza making. Thank you for making our trip to Venice extra special. We send our love and wish you all great success and good health! We want to invite you to visit us whenever you are in the States! Warmly, Laura and Kathy

Mama Isa’s cooking class was definitely a vacation highlight!! She and Stefano made us feel incredibly welcome and comfortable as soon as we walked through the door!! Learning about her background and Venetian heritage was so interesting!! The cooking tips, tricks, recipes, and ingredient recommendations were superb and we enjoyed every minute of laughing through our instruction!! We are mediocre chefs at best and she made us into experts that afternoon with the dish we prepared!! No kidding- it was the best meal of our trip!! You will not be disappointed - JUST BOOK IT! Buon appetito!!!

A well-rounded experience! We made pasta (fettuccini), sauce (arrabbiata), and classic tiramisu. Not only did we learn the importance of ingredients, but technique and cooking. Mama Isa is an excellent teacher—-tell, show, and let you practice. Gentle correction as needed and encouragement as well. She also knows food history and provides insightful background information. She also shared her sourdough bread made with her mother’s starter (70 year old starter!) and some marvelous wine (one was a sparkling Chardonnay!). The meal was delicious! The experience also lets you experience an Italian home, friendly conversation, and exposure to the city of Padova (Padua). We enjoyed walking to the Basilica of St Anthony from her place as well as the Botanic Gardens. Mama Isa, her husband, and her son were warm and hospitable. The entire experience was perfect for us! We were staying on a cruise ship in Fusina but her directions were detailed and we got to Padua no problem. It was worth the trip plus it made us feel like accomplished Italian travelers using people mover, train, and taxi! My advice: take Mama Isa’s Cooking class!!!! She is the real deal.

Isa and Stefano are knowledge, welcoming and wonderful people! This was my first trip to Italy and even though I was in an unfamiliar country, Isa and Stefano made my boyfriend and I feel like family. The pizza class experience was magical and we can’t stop talking about it! We are so looking forward to sharing and recreating these recipes with our friends and family when we return home. Grazie mille Isa and Stefano ❤️

This was one of our favorite things we did while in Italy. Chef Isa and Stefano were beyond hospitable. This isn’t an ordinary cooking class. You can tell by the way Chef Isa talks how passionate she is about cooking and teaching. My husband doesn’t cook at home, but now he’s wanting to help me in the kitchen because of this experience. We made three different types of focaccia pizzas and two different gelatos. We are hosting a party for our friends in a couple weeks where we will attempt to recreate what we made that day. Not only do you get the lesson in a perfect kitchen space while listening to beautiful Italian music, but the table was set for two with some lovely wine and a cheese and meat plate as an appetizer. Again, Chef Isa went above and beyond, teaching us about all the different cheeses and meats. She even tells you where you can find certain products in the USA. It was a top-notch experience, a phenomenal meal, and a highlight of our trip. Very highly recommend. We can’t wait to go back and try some of the other classes offered. Grazie mille Mama Isa and Stefano!!

Mama Isa’s Cooking School was the absolute highlight of our trip. Their willingness to make us feel welcome and desire to pass along their knowledge and heritage was moving. We truly felt part of their family. They were genuinely kind while showing the utmost professionalism. We had so much fun and learned so much. We had the absolute best time with Mama Isa and Stefano! We did the class with spinach and ricotta ravioli and tiramisu. The class itself was so much fun and hands on and the food tasted AMAZING! So grateful for this experience on our honeymoon.

We had a fantastic experience with Mama Isa and Stefano - so much fun and we learned a lot about the history of food, regional / cultural differences, new cheese and wine, and of course, how to make the best ravioli and gelato! We really appreciated how accessible the class was so that we could see ourselves making these recipes at home. Mama Isa was very flexible and accommodating with our schedule (booking the night before) and dietary needs (vegetarian), which we really appreciated. They were incredible hosts and we felt like we were part of their family for the day. We would 100% recommend Mama Isa's class and would definitely take more classes with Mama Isa if/when we visit again in the future!

My girlfriend and I had the opportunity to spend a week taking a private cooking class. There is so much I could say and write about but I feel like none of it would do it justice. I HIGHLY recommend you have this experience if you are interested in learning home Italian cooking so it can enrich your cooking in your own kitchen with these memories.

My husband and I took a pasta making class at Mama Isa's Cooking School today and had a great time with her and her husband Stefano. We learned how to make tagliatelle with a porcini cream sauce and it was absolutely delicious. Isa and Stefano were incredibly welcoming and made the class very approachable and enjoyable for any skill level, and the hands-on approach was very helpful for us getting started on how to make pasta from scratch at home. Chef Isa was also very accomodating with both food allergies and preferences, which we really appreciated. The class is hosted outside of Venice, but it was easy to get to with a short train ride. Overall, we had a great time and would absolutely recommend this class to anyone looking to learn how to make delicious pasta at home.

What a fabulous day!! My husband and I love food, and we had two days in Venice before leaving for our cruise so we decided to research cooking classes. We found Mama Isa immediately and reached out to her to book a class. When booking the class, she was responsive, informative, and a pleasure to work with. We decided on the pizza making class and it far surpassed all of our expectations! From the start she made sure that we had all the necessary tools for a successful class. Her classes are held in her adorable Italian apartment, which just adds to the whole experience. We were able to find her apartment easily with her instructions and were welcomed with open arms by Isa and her husband. Mama Isa went beyond just showing how to cook, but she explained the science of cooking and the complexities of different flavors/tastes and why it all works together. Each step was explained, then demonstrated, and then we had our hand at it. And oh my goodness, our pizzas were AMAZING! We vowed not to eat any other pizza in Italy because we wanted to remember the taste forever! Mama Isa is a joy to work with, a wonderful teacher, extremely knowledgable, and a gracious host. We definitely recommend her classes and we will tell all our family and friends if they are in Venice, Mama Isa's Cooking Classes are the place to be!

What a wonderful experience! From start to finish. Mama Isa is so informative and very traditional when it comes to Italian culture. We made fettuccine bolognese. I took a half day class with my 20 year old daughter. From the moment we entered Mama Isa's front door, we were made to feel like family. Her house is easy to get to from Venice, and well worth the trip. Her home is very clean. We were taught to make 3 dishes- an antipasto, egg pasta with bolognese sauce and tiramisu. The lessons were very hands on, and she made sure both my daughter and I mastered each step of the process. We were even offered wine from a local vineyard during the class and meal. We got to enjoy all the food we cooked (it was delicious) and we felt like we had to be rolled out of the front door. The 3 1/2 hours flew by, and we really didn't want to leave. We felt like we were leaving an old friend. The next day we received an email including not only all of the recipes we made, but also tips on Italian cooking, ingredients and tools to use. More importantly, my daughter and I left the memory of a wonderful shared experience that will last a lifetime. I highly recommend this class to anyone.

I came across Mama Isa'a Cooking School online and reached out to see if she could accommodate a class during our quick visit to Venice. My boyfriend and I ended up being the only ones in the class so it was a completely personal and custom experience. It was, of course, the best pasta we've ever had and such a great learning experience. Mama Isa was very warm and welcoming and the location is easily accessible by train/ taxi. She even took photos of us during the class and shared them. I highly recommend this cooking class for anyone who wants to learn the authentic way to make pasta in Italy. You won't regret it!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! This class was absolutely perfect!!!!! Chef Isa and Stefano are the best, so warm and inviting. Everything from making sure we got to the apartment easily all the way through class we felt like part of her family. Class was just as great! My boyfriend and I took Mama Isa's cooking special pasta and dessert class during a quick 3 day trip to Venice. Mama Isa and her partner were amazing - great teachers and lovely people to chat with. I appreciate that Mama Isa gave us a say in the details of the menu for the day. It happened to be my birthday that day and, on super short notice, they coordinated with my boyfriend to put a candle in the tiramisu we made and sing me happy birthday. We learned a lot, ate delicious food, had lovely conversation with true locals, and made great memories. Would highly recommend for novices and more seasoned cooks alike.

Chef Isa and her husband Stefano's Pasta and Tiramisu class was amazing! They were so knowledgeable and fun to learn from in our 4 hour class. Such a friendly family you truly felt at home cooking in their kitchen. Not to mention the food was DELICIOUS. I ate Tiramisu almost everyday for the 10 days we stayed in Italy (its clearly my favorite Italian dessert, our wedding cake was even a tiramisu cake)and I can hands down say the Tiramisu we learned to make was the best ive EVER had. If you find yourself in Italy i recommend booking a class with Chef Isa and her husband. We will definitely be booking with them next time we come to Italy!

What a wonderful time my daughter and I had at Mama Isa’s pizza class! Back at the hotel I thought I’d jot down a few takeaways. It took two hours as one tip or technique reminded me of another!

Awesome experience! Would highly recommend you to anyone. We made delicious Fettuccini with Bolognese sauce, and tiramisu.

You can see why it’s a five star experience. We learned how to make pasta and bolognese from scratch and, in the end, it tasted delicious. Mama Isa explained everything as she went including perfecting technique and the patience required to make great food. I highly recommend visiting Mama Isa for a cooking class.

If you want to learn how to make pasta by hand with a fantastic sauce to go with it please stop looking at other cooking classes and pick this one!! And when I say “this one” Chef Isa has sooo many options to choose from! Email her for all the details. We choose “The make pasta by hand option”, and we made a sauce to go with it. Everything was phenomenal!! The food we made, the instructors, and the history about Venice made this a memorable experience. The best part is we can make this dish at our home and be reminded of our time in Italy! Thank you Chef Isa and Stefano!

I took the three day course and it was a blast! Chef Isa offers wonderful lessons in authentic Italian cooking & Italian culinary history. She and her husband, Stefano, are the most hospitable hosts and patient instructors. It was truly an exceptional experience!

We signed up for a half day pasta cooking class. The other participant didn’t show up so it was just my husband and I. It was perfect! We made DELICIOUS handmade food: focaccia bread, fettuccine pasta & tiramisu. Such a fun but also informative class. We can't wait to attempt these recipes at home! Thank you Mama Isa!

Cooking at Mama Isa's was a wonderful experience! She is a very hospitable and friendly person, who really gets the heart of Italian cooking across to her "students". Her recipes are easy to use if you find the right ingredients.

My husband and I had a lot of fun in our cooking class. We made pasta noodles, sauce and gelato. We came home with the recipes plus a bunch more recipes. I am so excited to cook for our children and am confident that these new recipes will be used over and over in our home. I definitely recommend doing Mama Isa's class if you want to learn how to cook the Italian way!

My son and I had a wonderful time with Isa and her husband. They were organized, efficient, and extremely clean. We made homemade tiramisu, two amazing sauces, meatballs, and homemade noodles. It was superb and delicious 😋! Grazie tante.

Isa was a perfect host, a kind and very knowledgeable. She was very detailed in her instructions. Took photos, sent us the recipes so we didn’t have to worry about anything but the food and paying attention. Food turned out amazing. Best pasta I’ve ever had. Will definitely be going back for her longer classes. Highly recommend this experience.

I attended a cooking class at Mama Isa's Cooking School with my younger brother and both of us had an authentic cooking and wine experience. The atmosphere there was really fun and friendly. Everyone was super engaged with a class - many thanks to our chef, Isa and the sous chef Stefano. I would rate the overall experience as 5/5, and would definitely recommend it to my friends.

I thought i knew the taste of Pizza but I was wrong. The pizza she taught us to make with all fresh ingredients has a dimension of flavor that other pizzas don't have. Even the pizzerias in Italy will fall short of that home made, fresh, strong flavor. We made Diavola, Regina and one other pizza and they were all delicious! Cook Isa was extremely friendly and speaks English quite well. The room we make pizzas in is spacious, has lighting focused on the tables to highlight the cooking and many artistic decorations. They have very good taste in music and played music from Napoli for us. We have had a tremendously fun time with time. I recommend the cooking class to everyone!

This was one of the highlights of our trip! We had so much fun learning how to make authentic Italian pizza. Mama Isa is so knowledgeable and made our cooking experience a lot of fun. The class ran smoothly and the food was fantastic. We'd definitely book another class with Mama Isa!

Wonderful experience, highly recommend! Our host & teacher was highly skilled with cooking, English language skills and teaching skills. The placewas bright, very clean and welcoming. It is is a wonderful learning environment. The class included quality and local ingredients and a really fun learning format which included food history and the traditions of the ingredients. This is a great experience for all levels of cooking skill. Learning how to make tortellini was a highlight! Overall, a great value for money and a fantastic experience. We will be trying to recreate some of the dishes at home and we would absolutely recommend this experience to friends.

Amazing experience! A unique experience to try with friends, family, couple, etc. Isa and Stefano were very welcoming and we felt comfortable right away. They really love what they are doing and want to share their passion with you. So nice to learn things you had no idea before! We started by making this fresh focaccia, then we had a cheese and salami plate and then our amazing ravioli! Everything was SO good! I never tried a focaccia that soft and flavored. The ravioli was perfect! Everything combined was amazing. This is an honest review. I don’t think my husband and I would’ve changed anything. Thank you mama Isa and Stefano.

I had the incredible pleasure of attending Mama Isa's cooking class in Venice/Padua, Italy, and it was nothing short of amazing. Mama Isa herself was not just a talented chef but also a warm and welcoming instructor. Her teaching style was easy to follow, with step-by-step guidance that made even homemade pasta from scratch seem achievable. One of the things that stood out to us was Mama Isa's attention to detail. She ensured that we had all the necessary ingredients and equipment, and she even offered valuable insights on what to purchase once we returned home to replicate the dishes effortlessly. The atmosphere in Mama Isa's kitchen was incredibly relaxed, which made the entire experience enjoyable. What truly made the class memorable was the hands-on approach—Mama Isa would demonstrate, and then we would get to work, which made learning Italian cooking techniques a breeze. Beyond the cooking itself, we also learned about Italian pastas and wines, gaining a deeper understanding of the culture. And it's worth mentioning that the quality of the food we prepared was exceptional. As an LGBTQ+ couple, we felt especially welcomed in Mama Isa's kitchen. Her kindness and openness created a warm and inclusive environment that added to the overall positive experience. In summary, I wholeheartedly recommend Mama Isa's cooking class to anyone visiting Venice/Padua. It's not just about learning to cook delicious Italian dishes; it's about feeling like part of a family and gaining lifelong skills. Thank you, Mama Isa, for an unforgettable experience!
