This gym's sister location, the new-ish gym at Westfield Topanga, gets all the attention. Accordingly it's usually very crowded. This gym is the location on Vanowen and Fallbrook. It gets busy but not crowded. It's a low key place for serious exercisers. I even love the little extra balcony they made for people just doing funtional training. There is plenty of parking and the locker rooms are nice. The sauna is very hot (way better than being too cool). I occasionally work out at the Northridge 24 on Nordhoff and Tampa and they discontinued their towel service, even tho it's definitely a super sport. I hate that. This place definitely has towel service. The hot tub is always full of old guys. That's pretty standard at any gym tho. All around it's well-equipped and the staff are friendly. When I went to activate my Costco pass they didn't try to upsell me on fitness...I know it's their job but I soooo wasn't in the mood for it. Lol

This morning on one of the monitors, 24 hour fitness asked that members clean after themselves (which I agree with). I watched that message as I stood in this messy gym and felt insulted. After coming to the West Hills location a few times a week for about 13 years, 24 hour fitness' gross lack of routine cleaning has always been obvious. Sometimes trash left for days. Not healthy. As an example this is a picture of stairs that I don't remember the last time they've been cleaned. Look at the area I cleaned with only water and a paper towel in about 15 seconds. Imagine using cleaning solution and a mop! I hope 24 hour fitness doesn't reply to this review with one of their generic responses. Just clean like you care about the health and well being of customers. Rather then posting this, I preferred speaking to a manager. I was told a manager won't be in today and didn't know when! Update.... as anticipated, they replied with one of their generic "we care" responses. Many months after posting this review, there's still no improvement or additional effort!

What happened to the cleaning crew? I used to see them at night before gym closing. That seems no longer be the case and it is very visible that gym is dirty. Most of the machines are in working order but visible that some need to be replaced. Also please make closing time closer to old time of midnight

Update. I walked in today and overheard that a few lockers were broken into and had their valuables stolen. So be watchful. Locker room, sauna, steam, and pool area require much more attention. The outside workout area is not cleaned, is filled with blown leaves and dirt.

Time to update your signage . 15 hour fitness doesn’t have the same ring to it but at least it’s accurate . They continue reducing the hours of operation , thus negating my access before work in the morning . When my prepaid membership expires I’ll look elsewhere for a more reliable facility .

Dirty, broken machines, exposed wires, no paper towels, empty spray bottles, gym members’ bags between machines with no owners to be found. Not sure if they’re short staffed or what the reason is for the lack of cleanliness but pretty disappointed.

Yikes! This place was a nightmare. Granted they have the gym set up outdoors, which is not their fault entirely, but the ruler of California's. I walked outdoors into a tent at this gym, which isn't really outdoors because it's covered. It's just set up outdoors, then completely shielded as if you're indoors. I was horrified the second my foot stepped into that tent. There weren't that many machines and every-single-one of them was taken. And everyone was on top of each other and not social distancing. Not that there was any room to social distance. When I see that, that tells me a couple of things. One of them is that this is way over capacity. They shouldn't be letting that many in there to work out and sweat on top of one another. The second thing is how illogical it is since it's worse than working out indoors. We're better off working inside where there is more space and people are likely not as on top of one another. Again, not necessarily the gyms fault, but the Governor's and the illogical people making these bizarre decisions. They've obviously never been out in the field to see what it's like. Still this gym is booking way over capacity. The front desk guy at this gym was super friendly, so 5 stars for him, but the rest of the experience was horrible there and only one star. The patrons weren't particularly friendly either, standing over you with their arms folded to try and rush you off the machine. Inconsiderate people that actually have the audacity to do that says a great deal of what they're like. Unpleasant all around. This gym visit was a complete nightmare and I will never be stepping foot in here ever again and nor will I miss it or any of those people in it either.

This gym is alright. This review is more to be a comparison to the closest nearby location, The Village. Both locations have their pros and cons, but I won't go into too much about the Village's location because I wrote a separate review for this one. This gym has mostly replaced the Village's location for me due to it's location and size, but there are some gripes I really have with this spot that are frustrating. This gym seems larger and less busy than The Village, and the clientele seem much different. This location seems to be more oriented towards an older crowd, and is in general far less busier than The Village's location, which means it's easier for you to get your workouts in without having to wait for machines for too long. That being said, the machines here are in far worse shape than The Village. Many of the machines are clearly old, and seem like they could just break at any moment. One specific machine I can think of is the seated leg curls. I don't use that one because it's just painful to use at this point. Additionally, many of the machine's weight numbers have simply faded off, and makes it difficult to know what weight you are actually using. You have to calculate it based on the very few that still have some remnants of numbers visible. But my biggest gripe by far, though, which is the single most frustrating thing about this location, is that the Gym's name is just blatantly false at this location. If you're signing up to use this location and you actually expect it to be 24 hours, don't. It's not 24 hours. They close at 9PM. If you are the type to enjoy late night workouts, this isn't the place for you. Thankfully the Village is very close by and that one IS open 24 hours. So the tradeoff between this location and the Village is that at this location, you will have an easier time to get your workout in with less crowding, but you're working out on older equipment and lose the "24 hours" aspect of 24 hour fitness.

This location is not that bad. Less crowded than the one on Topanga Blvd. But, there hours are cut short everyday (not 24hrs any day) and like all the other 24 hour fitness I've be to post pandemic they're cleanliness in the restrooms, lockers and showers needs attention. Don't know what happened to 24hr franchise there gyms were always well kept until covid. Now they seem to all lack janitorial upkeep: (

I've been a member since 98 and I enjoy the "regulars" that are family after all these years. I would like to see it return to 24 Hour Fitness however. With the tight workout windows members now face it's a challenge. In addition more hours would mean more options for the members which would disperse the crowds. I would be done with my workout at 5:00a.m. versus 6:30a.m. which would lessen the number of people during that peak time.

To be completely honest it's a great gym for body builders and casual or beginners. I have been going for over a year and the price for what you get is good. The people there are amazing and always helpful if you just ask along with the staff. My only problems are some of the bathrooms are dirty every time I go, there is usually TP on the floors or the orange caps used for needles I have seen on some occasions. Besides that it's a good gym that's all I can say

This gym seems to managed by someone who cares, because I give A+ to staff (especially at front desk) are always courteous and helpful ; I give cleanliness B- since is little above average, however I attribute that to the abuse and dirty habit of many members; equipment Maintainace, I give it C- since many equipments are not working/functioning properly. Also the main excercise floor is blasting cold air in the early mornings after opening and all AC vents directions are facing down creating strong draft!! It is as cold inside as it is outside these days!! The service guy were told to look into this few times in recent weeks but nothing has changed! Please look into this issue. I really like this gym and wish to continue going to this gym. Thanks.

I don't have problem with gym but customer service is horrible. I am trying to cancel my membership but nobody seems works there. I have requested on line 3 to 4 times, have sent emails since late March but still they are charging me. Tried to call but no one picks up the phone. I have decided to physically go to the gym and see if they can help me.

Most people don't wear a mask and the staff doesn't enforce (shouldn't have to be part of their job but in a pandemic with yet another variant--kind of important). Half the time hand sanitizer or cleaning solutions are out at various stations. If I wasn't locked in because I prepaid, I would switch. Have a friend who goes to Planet Fitness that isn't crowded and people actually wear masks/sanitation is done frequently. Don't join if you care about your health

Just okay for the price. Swimming pool is often packed, few staff members aren't real nice. Not enough weight machine and too many Cardio machine...

3rd time in the last week and a half the gym has not opened on time. 20+ members are outside waiting for the gym to open as I leave this review. This gym is supposed to open at 0500 M-F. It is currently 0535. Please 24hourfitness fix this issue.

Oh my..the yoga class with Michelle was awful. She literally immediately started talking negative saying she didn’t even really want to be there and wasn’t feeling it and made me feel uncomfortable. She clearly brought her bad mood into class with her. Had us lay on our backs an entire 20 mins and said things like ok I want you to think about yoga positions that don’t work for you. Huh ? Then she’d say negative weird things about celebrities, and usage of cell phones like this was some sort of one way therapy session for her to vent to random people. Her voice wasn’t peaceful at all and then she played some sort of music that sounded like a baby lullaby. It was anything but a mindful experience. I up and left after 25 mins. I couldn’t stand one more second in that kind of environment. It was like a Walmart experience of yoga.

Dirty and old! I visited 24 Hour Fitness on Fallbrook in West Hills most days for the last 4 months. I would see the same bottle on the floor by a machine for days on end, the same paper towel on a machine day after day. I see cleaners there, but they don't seem to clean the machines or pickup trash from the floor. The paper towel dispensers are often empty, the disinfectant bottles are more often than not empty. The last straw was this week when the trash cans were overflowing onto the floor and there was nothing to clean machines down with. This place is just not clean at all - you certainly risk picking up some infection there. The building seems in some disrepair - roof leaks and floors need replacing in many places. The machines are old. Most of the cardio machines have issues with digital readout and the weight machines are either very old and in poor condition (torn, missing padding, worn out, etc) or are just plain broken most of the time. It seems that the management is trying to save money wherever they can by cutting corners but this comes at the expense of their customers. If you care about your health, want good working and newer machines - this is not the place for you.

The whole purpose of a gym, at least for me, is to get a workout in. I can do exactly that when I come here. I get in, workout, and get out. Simple. No complaints. Plenty of weights. Plenty of room. I bring my own towel, a water bottle, and discipline. Be done, and be happy. 5 stars.

Good full feature gym. This one isn't actually open 24/7 so check the times before making the trip. They have a pool, sauna, outdoor basketball court. This place gets busy at certain times of the day, so you might have to wait on some machines of the weightlifting machines. Best times to avoid crowds are mon-fri between 11am and 1pm. Weekends aren't very busy in the afternoons. Most of the equipment is in decent shape. The staff does an ok job keeping things maintained and clean. They have a few very good trainers, and the master coach, Steve, is very knowledgeable and friendly.

After years and years of normal hours operating as advertised (24 hours) even having a skeleton crew before the FAKE/PLANDemic/ Communist/Marxist takeover attempt, why has this location reverted to a NON-24 hour location when the business name is literally 24 Hour Fitness?!?! If you were capable to keep it 24 hours with skeleton crew then, what's the lame excuse now? I've been a member two DECADES. WHAT GIVES? I'd love to hear this one.

Came to stretch at the basketball court and someone locked the door from the inside preventing me from getting in. I was locked out there, this 24 is low energy from the staff which makes me feel like the managers aren’t doing much. Thanks for freaking me out 24 hour fitness, calling customer service to get more details of why this happen
