Excellent view of entire Visakhapatnam city. Few people know about this trek. This trek route leads to Simhachalam devasthanam. Half route is made of steps constructed long ago may be before India's independence by Britishers. It will be really encouraging to all the trekkers If the government takes a little interest to repair the steps and keep railing.

Me and my friend visited this place today. First of all there is a toll for this place. They are charging Rs.10 for bike, Rs.50 for car. This is a small distance of about 200 meters. Then you will find a gate where we need to park the vehicles. A temple is present on the right and you will find steps on the left that lead to the view point. It has around 700-800 steps till view point. In the initial there was lot of plastic waste, requesting people not to throw more waste. Wear shoes, take a water bottle, and avoid the trek during a rainy day as the steps would be slippery. Some steps are broken, so be careful while trekking. We reached a spot where you can find a cement broken block and the view is really good. Be careful at the view point. Tekking time for us was around 30-35 minutes uphill and 15-20 minutes downhill. The path was full of greenery and very peaceful while trekking.

The trek starts from the locally known Madhavadhara temple, and the trail being really well laid with stone steps and even track on the top, is a blissful hike which showers beautiful city view from a unforeseen angle and leaves you speechless. It’s one of the closest hiking points in Visakhapatnam that gives a short but worthy experience of eastern ghats

Manual step way for straight climb on simhachalam hill. Risky in rainy season. Suitable for up to years of age. Knee problems person avoid. Height is approximately 1.8 KM.

It's like trecking hill with a huge height, nature friendly environment, get a sufficient water, there is no source of water, hardly take 2hr to reach simhchalam temple from this madhava Swami temple.

Those who love trekking will have a great time going there. This trekking starts at Madhavadhara (Madhavaswamy Temple) leading to Simhachalam Temple. There are approximately 1300 steps to climb. Those who have knee joint problems are advised to avoid or to take enough precautions like wearing comfortable shoes, knee caps, taking a strong stick for support, etc.
